[FMP] Final Sound Design and Editing
I downloaded some free sound effects from freesounds.com.
Foley
I also created a few foley sound effects such as the whispers or voices in her head by speaking in a muffled tone and layering them.
I recorded a keys jiggling and door opening sound as well which I used when she comes back home in the animatic. I also recorded my own voice for some gasps, deep breaths, exhales and sighs.
for some reason, tumblr isnt letting me upload these individually, but here's a screenshot of them when I recorded it on my phone

[FMP] Final Sound Design and Music
After listening to countless number of music, songs on various platforms, I came across an artist called Savfk who creates copyright free instrumental scores of various instruments. I went through a lot of his music and I was specifically looking for something with strings - (violin cello etc.) and maybe piano.
Since my animation has different shifts of moods and emotions from the beginning to the end such as - (ACT I) sad, upset (ACT II) tense, confused, scared, (ACT III) warm, emotional, confused, relief, realization, I needed to select different music scores that still flow and align with those themes that I wanted to convey.
I chose 3 tracks of his and blended them together to create the final soundtrack for the animatic. For now, I feel like this matches it but if I do find something even better, I might make some slight adjustments in the production process.

[FMP] Choosing Sound Design and Music
I spent a lot of time looking for certain music that'd fit my animation, at first I really wanted to use a few tracks from "Sleeping At Last", specifically "Mars" or "Saturn" which had orchestral deep moving instrumentals. I was familiar with this artist for a while, especially since most of his music is so emotionally moving.

But at the end, as i developed my visual sequences for the animatic, I felt like these didn't match the scenes as much and I wanted a bit more calmer, grounded approach that's still orchestral or instrumental.

[FMP] Modelling the Blockout of the Teahouse Interior
Since the teahouse is sort of curved on the sides, I tried to make the walls in a similar curved shape. Afterwards I started blocking out base furniture and various items to fill the space.
I also made a sort of lantern-chandelier in the middle and more lanterns since I still liked to include them even as a part of just contributing to the warm atmosphere.
I used a teapot from blenderkit as a placeholder for just the animatic purpose. For my final I'd definitely add more details and make further adjustments.

first base render - it looked too ominous and not so welcoming, so I added more details and warm lighting.

[FMP] Modelling the Teahouse Blockout Exterior
After doing my research and being inspired by the Chinese teapots for the design, I added the concept art sketch I made and started blocking out the shape I wanted for the exterior. It was a bit tedious with trial and error to get the shape how I envisioned.
Sped of Process with the trial and errors of different ways I initially tried to model the blockout

[FMP] Animatic SCN 4 S2-S4 Renders
After she stared at the pawn, the scene shifts. but this time, she becomes the pawn on the chessboard- the same one she keeps with herself for comfort. She can't move since she's shaped like a pawn- all her limbs are fixed, merely like a texture. She panics as the rest of the pieces look very intimidating and towering over her - metaphorically mimicking the same way she feels about herself with the imposter syndrome. (As small and unworthy among everyone else, despite all her achievements, in a game she mastered to play.) She slowly slowly tries to move away from the rest of the pieces, scared and topples over the edge of the table.

[FMP] Animatic SCN 3 S4 Renders
Base Renders
With Character
In the first animatic draft I made for presentations, one feedback I received was that I should establish her connection to feeling like and carrying around this pawn piece more. I agreed with that and for the next few scenes, I added a part where she becomes the pawn herself on the chessboard for a small moment after she keeps her pawn on the chessboard. At the back, I want her to look defeated/upset while she stared at the pawn, since that's how she truly feels inside despite winning the competition.
