Kaye Fierch and Lord Roiben from "Tithe" by Holly Black, the first book in the "Modern Faerie Tales" trilogy! I really enjoyed the book a lot, and it was nice to be back in faerie after a reading slump.

Hopefully there'll be more bookish fanart soon!

So I finished Ironside, and what I have to say is it was amazing. Out of the three modern fairytale books, I think it might've been my favorite. I'm not sure because I really like them all. I was definitely left longing for more, and yes, I know of the two short stories, and I've read them both, but I'm talking more as in I'd love a new book about these characters. I'd love for this to be possible despite the book being published eighteen years ago. I love Elfhame, and I love Cardan and Jude and the whole folk of air story, but I definitely need more of Roiben and Kaye and all these other characters who I can't get enough of. I feel like there were so many scenes left to be seen. Also on another note I find it so crazy (in a good way) to go on twitter look up their names and to see posts dating back to 2009 and im sure there has to be more going even farther back.

Some bookish artists got together for an April Fool's joke where everybody had to draw the 'Spiderman upside-down kiss' pose featuring their favourite book characters or OCs. I signed up for playful Kaye and long-suffering Roiben (but he loves it really, even though he's got a sticky nose now 🍭)

Holly Black is so real. I love that she wrote a fantasy series as her first ever publication and then ten years later she was like "you know what, I fuck heavy with that faerie shit actually" and just continued writing stories in that world. Go off queen. I hope she never stops. I hope she writes so much about faerie that it starts to feel like a living, breathing organism. Holly Black you are my idol.
