my top three favourite Merlins:
1. Fommoroh Merlin
2. Merlin when mordred is breathing around him
3. Merlin in that one scene when he says “Really? Get out”

I'm saying 7-9 years older, purely because of Leon's rank/status when he's first introduced. He's not Uther's first knight, but he's high ranking enough that when Uther holds war meetings in season 2, Leon is present for that, and I just can't see that being the case if Leon is closer to Arthur's age.
Basically, I see s2 Leon being around 34 (in comparison to Arthur's 25/26, specifically)
How old do we think Leon is, in comparison to Arthur?
I’ve always seen him as 1-3 years older, but really they’re super close in age and they think of each other as brothers 🫶🏻
Ooh, this calls for a poll. So guys...
Make your case in comments/tags/etc.

*Gaius voice* and remember, Merlin, this is important, don't ever let anyone know you have magic. unless you need to save Uther - I mean Camelot - by using magic directly in front of him/on him/around him. it's for the greater good, you see, because Uther - I mean Camelot - is very important and you must save him - I mean it - all the time. but you're definitely not qualified to do this, I mean really, you definitely can't use this very old and sacred magic, it's impossible for you, do it anyway even though I know you can't. I'm the closest thing you have to a father. go and die for Uther - I mean Camelot - because I've asked you to. go and risk execution by using magic in front of Uther because I've asked you to. and never you mind why I'm yelling very loudly about your magic in a room that echoes terribly with an open door with knights out in the corridor, don't worry about that, don't ever let anyone know that you have magic, it'll get you killed. have I asked you yet to perform magic on Uther to save him? oh, you want to tell Arthur? no no no he's just a baby you can't tell him anything, it'll scare him too much. anyway, here's a mythical creature that will kill you and everyone you love unless you use very obvious magic right in front of Arthur to kill it. :) boot leather has a very particular taste have you noticed?
*Gaius voice* Violence is bad, that’s why you shouldn’t kill Uther or even passively let him die! You should kill a bunch of people to protect Uther, though, that’s different, their lives don’t mean anything if they’re not kings. Now, Uther is going to perform horrible acts of violence such as drowning children as long as he lives but you have to understand, his wife died :( it was his fault but it still happened :( and he needed someone to blame! Hence the genocide. Just remember that Uther is justified because magic corrupts even though I’m harboring a sorcerer who is not corrupted by it. Uther thinks someone is stealing his boots but I actually keep swallowing them by accident during my lick breaks. Love the taste

im aware that the reality of merwaine is that they would jump each other's bones within 48 hours max in any other universe but personally i really enjoy the fact that gwaine has clearly never pined for someone for longer than 48 hours in his entire life like he either got what he wanted or got rejected and moved on so the fact that he spends over five (5) years miserably and desperately pining after a guy that's increasingly more distracted and out of it is a key component of why this dynamic appeals to me so much. we must always find a way to torment the bisexual man somewhat
