We have anime on notebooks, pencil cases, bags, JEEPNEYS OF GROWN ASS ADULT MEN. One time a teenaged cosplayer won the grand prize of Pinoy Big Brother.

Filipinos made whatever is "cringe" for Americans as something cool and fun.

In my first year of high school, my classmates and I memorized Japanese anime lyrics and sang songs during lunch. We have clear books where we kept printed romaji lyrics of those anime songs (songs from Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, Blood+, etc). We passed around notebooks where we wrote self insert or oc insert fanfiction where we had powers. I had vampire ocs. We have cosplayers in class too. No, we were not bullied or outcasted for being weebs because the same weebs were class officers and top 20 achievers of the batch.

We were nerds and in our culture, it's nice to be smart and have hobbies. I was popular as a kid who draws in class. Someone from another class I was never classmates with knew me as an artist by word of mouth. We haven't actually talked until third year.

Us Filipino weebs don't bully other weebs. If I had a classmate named Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze that's so cool, we'll be besties immediately. My best friend of almost 20 years, I first talked to her because I heard her talking about Ryoma Echizen in 6th grade. Yeah so, Americans? Don't project your ass personalities on Filipinos.
