Shoyo Hinata
they were at the park, hinata bouncing around trying to get y/n to bounce the ball back. he was all energy and bright smiles, while y/n sat on a bench, twisting her hands in her lap, looking kind of tired.
“come on, y/n! just one hit!” hinata called, grinning.
y/n forced a small smile but shook her head. “i’m okay just watching for now.”
hinata paused and plopped down beside her, still catching his breath. “you don’t seem yourself today. something up?”
y/n bit her lip, fiddling with her jacket. “im just tired. been studying all night. i just wanna go home, sho.”
hinata’s face dropped for a second, then he nodded quickly. “oh, yeah! no worries. we can go whenever you want.”
he stood up and held out his hand. “lets go before it gets cold.”
as they walked back, hinata chatted quietly about the next game, but he kept glancing at her, making sure she was okay.
“next time, we’ll do something more chill.” he promised.
Tobio Kageyama
they were stuck in the library, surrounded by textbooks and silence. kageyama was focused as always, but y/n was clearly overwhelmed, rubbing her temples and glancing around nervously.
“you’re spacing out,” kageyama said bluntly, not unkindly. “if you can’t focus, what’s the point?”
y/n swallowed and tried to smile. “yeah, i’m sorry. i think i wanna go home.”
kageyama blinked, then nodded. “fine. we’re done.”
he slammed his book shut and shoved it in his bag.
“next time, don’t waste your time if you’re gonna feel like that,” he said, his usual serious tone softening just a little.
he stood and offered her his jacket without a word.
“let’s go.”
Kei Tsukishima
they were sitting in a crowded coffee shop, tsukishima scrolling on his phone with a bored expression while y/n sipped her latte quietly. the noise and chatter around them seemed to press in on her.
tsukishima glanced up and smirked. “you look like you want to be anywhere but here.”
y/n shrugged, voice low. “it’s kinda loud. i wanna go home.”
tsukishima raised an eyebrow but didn’t tease. “finally admitting it?”
she laughed softly, relieved he wasn’t pushing.
he stood and slung his jacket over her shoulders. “fine. we’re leaving.”
as they walked out, he muttered, “next time don’t drag me to your weird ideas.”
Tadashi Yamaguchi
they were sitting on the courtyard steps after school, yamaguchi quietly eating a snack while y/n stared off into the distance, fidgeting with her bracelet.
he looked over, a little nervous but gentle. “you seem kinda off today.”
y/n hesitated, then said quietly, “sorry i just- i just wanna go home.”
yamaguchi nodded quickly, standing up. “oh, okay. i’ll walk you.”
he didn’t say much, just kept pace beside her, letting the silence be comfortable rather than awkward.
“thanks,” y/n said softly after a while.
“anytime,” he replied with a small smile.
Daichi Sawamura
the gym was mostly empty now, the sounds of volleyballs bouncing and sneakers squeaking fading away. daichi sat on the bleachers, stretching his legs while y/n stared down at the floor, looking exhausted.
he sighed softly and said, “practice’s been brutal today, huh?”
y/n nodded faintly, voice low. “yeah… i think i wanna go home.”
daichi didn’t hesitate. “yeah, you should rest. want me to walk you out?”
she gave a small, grateful smile. “please?”
he stood, offering his hand like he always did when someone needed steady support.
“don’t push yourself too hard,” he added quietly as they walked to the exit.
Koshi Sugawara
the soft rustling of pages and quiet whispers surrounded them. sugawara flipped through a textbook, but he kept glancing over at y/n, who was staring at a paragraph with furrowed brows.
“you’ve been zoning out for a while,” sugawara said with a small smile.
y/n blinked and rubbed her forehead. “yeah… my brain feels fried.”
he chuckled lightly. “been there. wanna take a quick break?”
she shook her head slowly. “i don’t think that’ll help much.”
sugawara leaned back, folding his arms. “sometimes stepping away’s the best thing.”
y/n glanced around, avoiding eye contact, before quietly saying, “maybe i should just go home.”
sugawara smiled softly, closing his book. “if that’s what you need, then yeah. no shame in that.”
he packed up their stuff and stood, draping his jacket over her shoulders.
“we can always catch up later. your health’s more important.”
they walked out side by side, his easy chatter about random stuff making the quiet feel less heavy.
“just promise me you’ll listen to yourself, okay?”
y/n nodded
Ryunosuke Tanaka
tanaka was goofing around with friends when he noticed y/n sitting off to the side, quiet and not quite her usual self.
he jogged over with a grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “hey, what’s going on? you’ve been kinda quiet.”
y/n shrugged, her voice low. “i don’t know, just feeling off today.”
tanaka plopped down beside her, nudging her shoulder gently. “you wanna talk about it?”
she shook her head, staring at her shoes. “not really. i’m kinda tired… think i should go home lowkey.”
tanaka’s grin softened into something warmer. “yeah, sometimes you gotta listen to that.”
he stood and hooked his arm through hers. “let’s get you outta here before you start fading.”
as they walked away from the group, he kept chatting about dumb stuff—movies, plans, anything to keep the mood light.
“next time, we’ll just hang at my place, no pressure.”
Yu Nishinoya
they were sitting in a bright red booth by the window at mcdonald’s, the smell of fries and burgers filling the air. nishinoya was hyped, animatedly telling y/n about this wild volleyball save he made at practice earlier.
“and then i just flew across the court, saved it right before it hit the floor! you should’ve seen me, i was like a superhero or something!”
y/n smiled a little but wasn’t really into the conversation. she poked at her fries, pushing them around her tray.
nishinoya was so caught up in his story he didn’t notice how quiet she’d gotten. “hey, you’re really quiet. you good?”
she hesitated for a second, then said softly, “actually… can you take me home, noya?”
nishinoya blinked, surprised like it just clicked for him. “oh! uh, yeah, sure! you okay though?”
y/n nodded. “just kinda tired.”
he put down his burger and looked at her seriously. “man, why didn’t you say anything earlier? i’m terrible at noticing stuff like that.”
she smiled softly.
“don’t worry about it,” he said, standing and grabbing his jacket. “let’s get you outta here.”
as they walked out, nishinoya slowed down, staying close to y/n so she felt safe.
“promise me next time you’ll tell me sooner, okay?”
“i will,” she said, feeling better already.
