I know this is a little different from my other posts but I’m thinking about starting a blog for all of my photographs that I take while traveling. So here’s a couple from my most recent trip to Nashville! If you love good food, amazing live music, and really cool murals, Nashville is definitely the place for you!!

The “tent community” is known for the people of Haiti taking the tents the government gave them after the earthquake and creating homes out of them. These tents were only intended to be used for six months, while organizations like American Red Cross, were supposed to be building them houses. Six years later, these people still have no home and are still living in these tents.   Leveque, Haiti

Blue is a common color in the Batey villages in Barahona, whether it be their clothes drying on a line, paint on the house, or in this case, beautiful blue earrings.

We walked around and taught the people of the villages how to photograph with the Instax Polaroid camera. The reactions they would have to seeing the photographs they would create was priceless. They then got to keep a polaroid of themselves. This is Rosalba. Stay tuned for more on this particular project that we worked on with The Batey Rehab Project.

You will see many children in the local Batey communities of Barahona not wearing any shoes even when the ground consists of predominately large rocks, glass, and garbage. Their feet become so accustomed to this, they become so rough and eventually numb to what they are even stepping on. The Batey Rehab Project does so much for the people that live in these villages. Stop by there website and please donate anything you can!

This lady’s features were so beautiful I couldn’t help but stop and photograph her. When I told the translator to tell her how beautiful she was her instant reaction was this unforgettable moment.
