When you sensed some vibes from Mei and Miriam in Turning Red during that scene where Miriam was trying to be upset but secretly watching over Mei’s tamagotchi, and then you rewatch the movie and suddenly catch Mei’s first words as she draws the guy from the deli (or whatever that store was). “I don’t know what Mir sees in him” Mir is Miriam’s nickname. Why focus on Mir in that line when the other girls were simping too? Looks like feelings aren’t one sided

I know everyone is freaking out over Priya and the goth girl but I’m also 100000% sure that Miriam is fucking gay for Mei deadass tho 

Also the fact that Mei’s mom seemed to criticize Miriam the most out of all her friends (i.e. “That girl is… odd”, the confrontation after the party where Mei’s mom drew all her attention to Miriam). OH and I’m pretty sure it ain’t a coincidence that both Mei’s mom and Miriam have a green color palette… hmmmmmmmmmm

a/n: just a short drabble (?) i did at 1am, they're 16 in this and Miriam has depression

synopsis: Mei just got broken up with her third boyfriend and Miriam is there to comfort her.

"I just... don't get it! What am I doing wrong?? Am I a bad girlfriend?" Mei sniffles into Miriam's chest, her shirt tightly clutched.

"C'mon, Mei," the other murmured softly, "you know that's not true."

"Then why do they keep breaking up with me?!" Mei exclaims as she transforms into a red panda and sobs uncontrollably. Almost everything in Miriam's room was ruined by the mad uproar.

Miriam felt awful looking at her friend in grief. She takes a step closer to Mei and squeezes her tightly. This prompted the panda to re-internalize. Mei took a bit to reciprocate the hug, but she did so eventually.

The two stayed like that for a few minutes before Miriam pulls away to look at Mei in the eyes.

"Hey, you know how incredible you are, right?" Miriam started, tucking Mei's hair behind her ear. The redhead was silent, Miriam continues.

"You helped me sooo much in dealing with my depression, you never stopped to make me ... or even anyone cheer up from a crappy day."

"Mei, you're an amazing friend and person. I— No dumbass would trade you for the world."

Before wiping her tears, Mei gave Miriam a faint grin.

"Thanks, Mir. For everything." She puts her hand on top of Miriam's with a thankful glint in her eyes.

"No problem, Mei. Anything for a friend."

the two girls sat in comfortable silence until Miriam gets up from her bed and stares at Mei with wide eyes, the other tilted her head in confusion.

"You know what? Let's make a pact! If another guy crushes our hearts, we'll just date each other!"

Mei was about to object until Miriam added, "As friends, obviously." after her proposal.

Mei giggled a bit which made Miriam awkwardly shift her hand in front of Mei for approval.

"So, is it a deal?"

Mei was taken aback. She didn't believe Miriam was serious, but what harm could there be? She inhaled deeply and extended her hand to her best friend.

"Deal."
