How to Hang a Mirror on Ceramic Tile
Many bathrooms with specialty or decorative tile have tiles that extend from the floor to the ceiling. While this look is dramatic and makes for easier cleaning, it can make it more difficult to install things onto it. To hang a mirror above a bathroom sink on a wall covered with tile, you need to penetrate the tile and install wall anchors from which to hang the mirror.
Measure the mirror and the wall where you want to hang it. Determine where the screws will be placed. For example, some mirrors hang by a long wire across the back, while others have specially placed clips. Take note of the hanging method when determining where to place the screws.
Place pieces of masking tape onto the wall where the screws will be installed. Mark each piece of tape where you will drill, using a pencil.
Place a carbide- or diamond-tipped drill bit into the drill.
Dip the bit into a vial of cooling oil and position it against the pencil mark on the masking tape. Twist the drill back and forth a few times to enable the bit to bite into the tile.
Begin drilling slowly into the tile. Keep a light pressure on the drill as it goes through the tile and into the drywall. If the bit begins to smoke or turn red, stop and redip it into the cooling oil before continuing.
Push a plastic wall anchor into each hole. Ensure you use anchors and screws meant to hold the weight of the mirror you are hanging.
Screw the hanging screws into the anchors, using the drill. Leave a small section of the screw head standing out from the wall to give the mirror something upon which to hang.
Line up the mirror's wire or hanging clips with the screws and hang the mirror on the wall.

Tip

Convex Mirror — Convex mirrors are also spherical mirrors. However, unlike concave mirrors, they bulge out and distort the reflected image, making it smaller.
