Pandora isn’t sure exactly how she managed to escape the sick bay. All she can make sense of is a flurry of activity, fighting against restraint, and blind, unthinking fury - but she’s out now, and she’s free to focus on looking for her brother.

She keeps an eye for signs of a struggle instead of calling out for Prometheus, for even in her hazy state she knows it’ll only get her caught. What she finds, however, is worse than any sentry, and surely the last thing she’d ever have wanted to see.

“... You. Defective.” The words come out before she’s even considered that addressing Grey might be a bad idea. “Where is he being held.”

      “That’s correct. Although, of a very different type than you seem to be.”

  Then, as he gave Pandora a small smile, 9S gives her a small bow out of politeness as he finally formally introduces himself.

     “My name is YoRHA number 9 Type S, but just ‘9S’ is fine. It’s a pleasure to meet you, ma’am. I’m afraid I’m not allowed to tell you much more about me, seeing as I  do not wish to endanger myself or anyone else. But I am  indeed an android as well.”

“That’s fine. I don’t care.”

Pandora holds her staff behind her and hops up to sit on it, kicking her legs a little as she hovers in the air. She does care, but not about him specifically - it’s these YoRHA numbers in general she’s curious about.

“I’m DAN-002. ‘Pandora.’ You’re advanced for an android... Are all YoRHA numbers like you?”

He holds the notebook out to her for a few more seconds to be sure, before putting it back in his bag with a small pout of embarrassment.

   “I couldn’t be much more familiar with them, actually. But..you’re very different from the others..much more..human. You’re obviously not a YoRHa model android either, seeing as I can’t scan you for a signature code or anything.. It’s like you’re some sort of mixture of the two, somehow.”

That, and her armor was very..different. But he wouldn’t comment on that for now.

That almost sounds to her like an insult.

“Reploids are... a sort of android, which qualify as machines.” Though that comparison seems to have a different connotation to him. “The non-human machines... Those are ‘mechaniloids.’”

Something about how he phrases his comment piques her interest. “Are you non-human as well?”

   He tilts his head a little at the word ‘Reploids’, never having come across that word before. Still, he notices that the other was not used to speaking much. So, in a form of kindness, 9S rummages through his backpack for a moment before handing Pandora a small digital notebook with a pen.

   “Indistinguishable from..humans? You lived together with humans? And these ‘Reploids’ you speak of, are you perhaps..one of them? Are they like machines? What were they like?”

She stares at the notebook for a moment before looking away, ignoring it completely.

“I’ve encountered humans, yes... But I am a reploid. We’re not like machines, we are machines. Are you unfamiliar?”

   “I wonder why, though..I found some very old records with his name, but nothing really noteworthy was in any of them. Something about ‘three laws’ did pop up several times.”

“Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics governed robots when they became advanced enough to think for themselves. They were deemed irrelevant once Reploids became almost indistinguishable from humans.”

She rubs her throat a little. It’s been a while since she’s said so much in one go.

“I’ve heard that primitive robots worshiped him as a god... But I suppose he wasn’t one worth remembering.”
