Seen here in the 1967 film "Far from the Madding Crowd," Terence Stamp plays the role of Sergeant Francis Troy, a dashing but ultimately heartless and fickle soldier who becomes the object of affection for Bathsheba Everdene. His character is known for his captivating charm and skill with a sword, which he uses to initially win Bathsheba's heart, but his true nature and past eventually lead to tragedy.
