‪Don’t ever let anyone tell you that using references for your art is wrong! Hell, sometimes ya gotta get creative and make your own! Using references doesn’t make you a lazy artist. Trust me!‬

(These were taken a few weeks ago since I like to queue up page sketches for my comic, but I just wanted to show you all that using references is nothing to be ashamed of and even being a reference yourself is okay 👌🏻)

Just a reminder...

Please remember there's a difference between... "I've given up on my art completely" and "I don't have enough time right now to do it" or "I want to do art... but I'm too sad/ don't have the drive or inspiration/ but I still want to do art" or "I've put something on paper or computer... It's small but it's something" or " I'm taking a break to recharge my creation fuels".

So don't tell people, "You've given up on your art" if they haven't or fighting to keep going. Fucking offer to help them or something rather than pointing things out or nit picking and help them. Give them inspiration instead. Remind them how you like their art or their favorite piece.

This Roman 'gate to hell' killed its victims with a cloud of deadly carbon dioxide

Is it possible to walk through the gates of hell and live? The Romans thought so, and they staged elaborate sacrifices at what they believed were entrances to the underworld scattered across the ancient Mediterranean. The sacrifices—healthy bulls led down to the gates of hell—died quickly without human intervention, but the castrated priests who accompanied them returned unharmed. Now, a new study of one ancient site suggests that these “miracles” may have a simple geological explanation.

Rediscovered just 7 years ago, the gate to hell at the ancient city of Hierapolis, in modern-day Turkey, is a stone doorway leading to a small cave-like grotto. The gate was built into one wall of a rectangular, open-aired arena, topped by a temple and surrounded by raised stone seating for visitors. The city itself sits in one of the region’s most geologically active areas; 2200 years ago, its thermal springs were believed to have great healing powers. Read more.

So... like...

This is pretty morbid and I don't think people will like this at all.. But hear me out. I brought home people ashes. A father and son to be correct. And if I didn't they were going to be tossed out. And me.. being the weirdo I am said I would take them. They were in a abandoned storage unit that went up for for auction at my friends work. After multiple attempts to give them back to the owner, it was decided they would be tossed. Originally I was told the ashes were two children. But later on inspection it was a father and son. I know nothing about them. Who they were. What they were like in life. What they died from. But the idea of letting them get thrown out was too upsetting to me. Even though it's a really common occurrence when storage until go up for auction.
