I feel bad for unfollowing everyone of a specific ethnic group, but 90% of their posts are about a specific region that I'm no longer able to discuss, so I'm just doing it to get that discourse off my dash. I actually liked them and their posts and the few people I still followed up until now were the few that never betrayed me.
Still, it makes me laugh... the implications, lol. The good thing is that none of them were following me back, so they shouldn't care. I went out of my way to leave out all the details from this post so that nobody involved and none of the groups involved will have to see this or feel anything about it. Just wanted to vent.

One of the biggest losses for the atheist movement is the idea that atheists are cringe. We somehow find ourselves in the position where a couple of redditors define our entire belief system. It makes no goddamn sense. I have theories about why this happened.
My guess would be a combination of "atheism +" with the general rise of "woke/sjw" stuff combined with Islam's success in convincing people that you absolutely cannot separate critique of their religion from racism. It was a perfect storm of us cucking ourselves to people who would never, ever respect us.
Self hating atheists are somehow worse than religious people who take atheism as a personal attack. Like dude they are not going to like you just because you admonished your own ideology and copped to theirs

Half the stuff they're describing as misinformation are just semantics they disagree with. I'm not going to claim that nobody is stupid enough to believe that a fetus is non-human, non-living, a parasite, or a formless clump of cells... but how many of those people actually exist? I've never seen someone say any of those things, not even once in my life.
What I have seen is people argue about personhood. I've seen people argue about what life means in the context of conception, birth, etc. I've seem people COMPARE an unwanted fetus to a parasite. The formless clump of cells thing I haven't seen, but I am assuming they're referring to someone arguing that a fetus is a clump of cells in comparison to a birthed individual.
Like... it's just a blatant strawman, unless OP themselves are so silly that they don't understand any of those arguments.
Abortion only remains legal because of the widespread misinformation surrounding it, you can't change my mind.
Do you know how many times a day I see abortion advocates who think a fetus is non-human, non-living, a parasite, a formless clump of cells? How often pro-choicers tell themselves that the photographs of tiny torn-apart bodies are photoshopped, that the born-alive abortion survivors' stories and medical records are fabricated, that the science showing a fetus's ability to feel pain is just manipulation tactics? Frankly, the lack of education is pathetic.

Good addition / correction!
Can you guess what Tim Pool's reaction to this was? I'd love to say something snarky like "whatever you thought, you're wrong", but Tim is actually so stupid you guys probably could make the rant yourselves at this point.
You can get a pretty good summary from this tweet:
He read this tweet on his show:
Which you can watch safely on Destiny's side channel here, if you want proof:
youtube
From Forbes:
In the United States, approximately 1.3% of population have a PhD. That’s about 4.5 million people. A tiny amount. More than five times that number of people saw Dr. Ally Louks original tweet about finishing her thesis on the politics of smell. We can safely assume that the large majority of people commenting underneath her post don’t have a doctorate, and are unlikely to know what the nature of academic research entails. Yet, because of social media, they have an inflated sense of their own rightness and understanding of this world. The reaction to Dr. Ally Louks’ olfactory PhD, sadly, shows the worst side of the internet. The part that believes it knows better than experts, that utterly misjudges the point of a post, and the one that resorts to vile insults over discussion.
And she even clarified this herself:
TL;DR? Tim Pool and his followers are purposefully ignoring every possible context relating to this story so they can make a stink over some random woman's PhD paper.
There's no reason to make this a section on your show. The woman didn't do anything wrong. The only thing she's being accused of is being too verbose when her writing was OBVIOUSLY not meant for public consumption in the first place.
No wonder Russia was so happy to fund his show. He's excellent at dividing the American populace.

ALL SPIRITUALITY IS DELUSION
I used to believe in God, once. I also used to believe days shifted from what I called a "9-Day" to an "8-Day" each day, and I could visually see it too. Call it hallucination, but if anything this hallucination was due to a delusion.
We downplay the power of delusion. We actually do, it's the very reason why when someone like Richard Dawkins says belief in God is delusional people assume he's just being rude. He isn't. He's actually right.
I'm Nigerian, and in my country there are people who genuinely believe in the actual existence of deities like Ogun and Songo, etc. My best friend being one of them. If you go around in my country you'll see clay pots on the ground in corners of streets having food in them, to be sacrificed to these deities. Of course my country isn't unique in this, as literally in countries around the world there are people who seriously believe in spirits, leprechauns, fairies, unicorns, Santa Claus, ghosts, etc. A growing number of people even sacrifice humans to get money and other desires from these deities, some even can confidently tell you they have spoken face to face with these spiritual beings. But, can you say they haven't if they're delusional?
A delusion isn't a lie in the same way we think of lies. Delusions are lies we have convinced ourselves are real, and they're completely caused psychologically. And the incredible thing is, if you mess with your mind enough you can even cause your physical senses to agree with your mind that the delusion is real. Hence, why when I was 15 years old I believed I saw a tree transform into a horse, or why my best believes when I was 17 and prayed on him that the Holy Spirit prevented his body from moving. You can't convince anyone who is in a delusion or has been deluded that their delusion isn't real.
Phenomenologically anything can be true, especially lies.
I only realized that I had been deluded for years because I recently got healthy and it opened my eyes, ever since the damage began in the church I attended as a kid, after over two decades.
But hold on, I'm not trying to tell you to go around calling people who believe spiritual things "deluded." Because you might as well call a doctor that thinks breathwork does nothing deluded also, but no. Don't do that. Understand that you don't understand where any of these people are coming from, you don't know why they felt they needed this. You have no idea. So calm your horses! Remember, you can't convince them of the opposite. Simply live your own life now that you know the truth. The light of the truth in your life will open their eyes, but don't try to force them with words or action to agree with the truth because that would be deluded of you, actually.
People fall into delusion because they're afraid, it's never out of malice, so be kind. Please. You might be forced to ask "if we can delude ourselves to actually feel something unreal is real, how do we know we aren't doing it already?" You know it because reality doesn't need you to do anything to happen to you. Reality is always indifferent.

I'm not gonna lie, bro. I'm still salty over that whole antisemitism thing. Ever so often I'm reminded of it and it just makes me feel nasty about being on this website.
Why are people so unwilling to listen to reason? Are they really so foolish?

Never forget: the cruelty is the point.
The child is not even two pounds, he is in the intensive neonatal care unit. He is blind, may be unable to walk and he may not survive at all. Adriana Smith's mother, April Newkirk has affirmed that the decision to stop life support should have been the family's. The baby's name is Chance. Fuck Brian Kemp, I hope he gets sepsis.

Valid crashout.

Shit like this is so blackpilling. This same dude will call people out for being too mean online. How can he sleep at night?
More importantly, why do we let him sleep at night?

My only real issue with the Switch 2 is the price of the games. The console is fairly expensive, but I could justify it if not for the prices of the games. Even buying indie games are way more expensive. It's a slow bleed out of all my money.
The console looks good though. I'd definitely like to have one. Nintendo will finally have a powerful console again!

Neither of those posts were even in pro-choice subreddits. These guys really got lazy.
My steelman of their position is that pro-choice is a slippery slope to infanticide, therefore any person advocating for infanticide is a pro-choice activist. Perhaps some of the phrasing in the posts is alluding to pro-choice talking points in some way.
That being said, these posts have nothing to do with abortion. But I can see why pro-lifers would be confused, as they 100% equate an embryo with a child, something that pro-choicers never do.
What I don't understand is why they have no cognitive dissonance from the fact that these posts make them more upset than regular pro-choice posts...
Pro-choicers shut up forever challenge.

Oh man, I know a guy who is probably posting about this a shitload.
Online conservative guys obsessed with movie casting have spent years insisting that all that matters is that the actor looks as much like the character as possible. So you can't try to make the cast more diverse, you have to cast who looks like the character exactly. Anyway after one round of people suggesting a trans actress who looks uncannily like Zelda play Zelda in the Legend of Zelda movie they're going "well, there are more important things than looking like the character". Fellas, I'm starting to think these people just want to keep marginalized people from playing anyone
