ABOUT ME
Hola! It's me, Mitzi from PSHS-CARC! Another quarter had ended and I am here again to share with you my insightful journey of Mathematics 3 for the 4th quarter in which I would never get tired of doing! :>
How would you describe your Math 3 fourth quarter learning journey?
I would describe my learning journey in Math 3 for this quarter as quite complex. For me, this quarter is slower than the previous quarters. However, I had troubles at first because I thought I was doing the right solutions. As time goes by, I learned by my mistakes and I strived` for the better. Although I would describe the topics as easy, for me, the first Long test in this quarter under this subject is a bit complex. Moreover, this quarter served as a path for improvement and it is fun.
Which topic did you find most enjoyable? What made it enjoyable for you? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
Hmmm? This is quite hard since I have two favorite topics but if I were to choose one, I would choose Arithmetic Sequences as my favorite. It is enjoyable since it is quite easy you just have to familiarize yourself with the formulas. What made it more easy is practice which really helped me familiarize myself with them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What concepts did you find easy to learn? What do you think made them easy for you?
As I said earlier, Arithmetic Sequences is the most enjoyable topic for me because of the reason that it is easy. I had also narrated earlier how and why it was easy for me. Additionally, Geometric Sequences are also easy and the reasons why it was easy is almost the same as those of Arithmetic Sequences.
What concepts did you find most interesting/inspiring? Why do you think so?
The concept I found interesting is the Binomial Theory, which I think would be considered as the hardest topic in this quarter. For me, it is interesting because it was more complex than the others which made me explore it more to learn it.
What concepts have you mastered most? Why do you think so? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
I have mentioned a lot that the easiest topics were Geometric Sequences and Arithmetic Sequences which was easy mainly because of practice. So, for me these are also the topics that I have mastered the most since I had practiced a lot for it which also made them easy.

What concepts have you mastered the least? Why do you think so? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
For me, the concept I have mastered the least is Binomial Theorem primarily the combination parts. It is still easy but it's still my least mastered concept. I think that it's the least mastered since I didn't have a lot of time to learn about it and practice problems.

Honestly, have you developed a better appreciation for mathematics? What lessons, or discussions related to your topics, will you be able to retain throughout your life?
In all honesty, yes. Mathematics 3 had taught me to appreciate concepts to understand things better. It offered me real-life problems that highlighted it's importance in various fields. For me, the topics that I will retain throughout my life are the exponential growth and depreciation rates because I will always remember it when investing into things and it will help me not to get scammed and save more money.
What quick notes do you have for:
i. Teacher:
For the whole year of being my instructor, I could say that he is very consistent and hands-on to his students!! He is really approachable and kind. He doesn't let his students feel left out from the topic. Overall, I could say that he is passionate about his job and he loves his students.
ii. Your Classmates:
I couldn't really say that much about them but one thing's for sure; I hope that they become what they deserve in life. I wish that they could be more independent. I mean, there's nothing wrong for asking for help but just don't do it all the time and also try to do it yourself.
iii. Myself:
I would say that I'm really proud of myself for surviving this year. I have no grudge to myself 'cause keeping some would be really dumb since I can't even change anything about my past. The only Thing I can change is the future and I ought to myself that I will strive for the better and most improved version of myself not only in this subject but also in general. (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)

ABOUT ME
Konnichiwa! I am Mitzi V. Resuello, a current grade-9 student from PSHS-CARC. Today, I am more than ready to share with you my slow but progressive math journey for this quarter!
Tumblr media
How would you describe your Math 3 third quarter learning journey?
My learning journey for this quarter isn't as tough as what I had during 2nd quarter. I would say that this quarter in general is so fast. Like, parang kakatapos lang ng 2nd quarter examination and then all of a sudden the week before 3rd quarter exams na. Sobrang bilis parang one month lang ang 3rd quarter. Sa lahat ng subjects ko this quarter, they are so rushed in teaching and halos self-learning lahat. My math subject on the other hand was so hands-on for me, I really understand the lessons but we are so far behind at this point.
Tumblr media
Which topic did you find most enjoyable? What made it enjoyable for you? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
I found exponential functions really fun since for me, it isn't as complicated as the other lessons. Exponential functions are really easy to solve if both bases are the same.
Practice Problems:

What concepts did you find easy to learn? What do you think made them easy for you?
As I said in the previous question, exponential functions are really easy to solve for me. What made it easier is the properties of math specifically the exponential property where if two bases are equal, you just need to multiply their exponents. This aided on making the bases equal to each other efficient.
Tumblr media
What concepts did you find most interesting/inspiring? Why do you think so?
Personally, I really found logarithm functions interesting since it is quite the most challenging and intimidating lesson for this quarter. My skills on solving logarithms had improved over the days but I should still practice more so I can be 100% ready for the exam!!
Tumblr media
What concepts have you mastered most? Why do you think so? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
Out of all the topics in this quarter, I think I have mastered the most is exponential functions. Kagaya rin ng mga nasabi ko po kanina, para po sa akin madali lang ang mga exponential functions for me. With this, I think I had mastered it because it was easy for me in the first place.
More Practice Problems:

What concepts have you mastered the least? Why do you think so? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
Logarithmic functions is by far the hardest for me. It was the most complex out of all the topics for this quarter. Given that it was the hardest for me, I had mastered it the least.

What quick notes do you have for:
i. Your Teacher:
I really appreciate my math teacher since he is very hands-on. His teaching styles are really effective since he teaches the lessons really well and he always assure that we are able to solve problems on our own. He doesn't just let us learn math by ourselves. He is also super approachable and I can really see that he is very passionate on teaching us.
Tumblr media
ii. Your Classmates:
I wish the best for my classmates not just in math but for all their academic studies. I hope that all of us gets high grades and I also hope that at the end of the day we all help each other in our academic performances instead of competing with one another.
Tumblr media
iii. Myself:
Para po sa akin, no matter how bad my performance is, I should never bring myself down because that's just the consequences of my own actions. For me, I HAVE NO RIGHT to be frustrated if I know to myself that I didn't work really well. Instead, I should reflect on myself and try to strive for the better next time. Bringing myself down would only make the situation worse since you already hate yourself and you'll not see the better of you.

‘Obvious’ is the most dangerous word in mathematics. — Eric Temple Bell, Scottish mathematician
ABOUT ME
Hello everyone! I am Mitzi V. Resuello, a grade-9 student from Philippine Science High School (PSHS-CARC). Today, it is my great pleasure to share with you my Math 3 Learning Journey for the second quarter. Here, I will share my insights, advice, and most especially my journey filled with highs and lows.
Tumblr media
QUESTION #1: HOW WOULD I DESCRIBE MY MATH 3 2ND QUARTER LEARNING JOURNEY?
Never was much of a math genius, just a normal student who gets neutral grades in Math.  Every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday or Wednesday, the class I belong to has Math in its schedule. Well, if I were to describe my Journey in Math 3 second quarter, I would say that this quarter is full of topics on a rollercoaster that is moving on broken racks. The first Long Test for this Quarter is tough like the typhoons that conquered the first half of the quarter. The topics covered in this portion have appeared to be too complex for me to carry on easily.  On the other hand, my performance for the other half of the quarter is better than the last one. For me,  the topics here are much easier compared to the last topics. I wouldn’t say that it’s easy, for me, it’s still hard. Overall, I would describe this quarter as tough as a rock like the story of Sisyphus.
Tumblr media
QUESTION #2: WHICH TOPIC DID YOU FIND MOST ENJOYABLE? WHAT MADE IT ENJOYABLE FOR YOU? PROVIDE CLEAR IMAGES OF YOUR SOLUTIONS TO SAMPLE PROBLEMS OR EXERCISES ON THE TOPIC.
Even though this quarter has not been good for me, I would still say that I have enjoyed learning various topics. I wouldn’t include some of the lessons that I have already tackled from previous grade levels and that we “re-learned” this quarter such as the synthetic and long division of polynomials. Anyway, I enjoyed learning about piecewise functions.  I don’t know, but I enjoyed and found this lesson super fun. I guess it would have been because they’re fun to graph, you just have to familiarize yourself with what the graph of a certain function looks like.  For me, knowing the domain and range of the function based on its given conditions is really a game-changer.

QUESTION #3: WHAT CONCEPTS DID YOU FIND EASY TO LEARN? WHAT DO YOU THINK MADE IT EASY FOR YOU?
As I mentioned earlier, learning about piecewise functions is enjoyable and I would say that it’s pretty much easy due to being knowledgeable of how the graph of different functions looks like. It is also a big help if you know how to get the domain and range of the function. Another concept that I found easy was step functions since I've already put into my mind that if its a floor function, the value will be rounded down, if it's a ceiling function, the value will be rounded up.
Tumblr media
QUESTION #4: WHAT CONCEPTS DID YOU FIND THE MOST INTERESTING /INSPIRING? WHY DO YOU THINK SO?
The concepts I found the most inspiring is the Transformations of Functions. For me, this concept doesn't only teach us a new math information but also a life lesson on how any person will have a noticeable effect for every factor that affects them. Additionally, I find signum functions really interesting. It is very intricate but amazing at the same time. I think it's because it's kind of similar to piecewise function but the values of x just revolves around zero and it's value also centers only on a given number, the negative of that number, and zero.
Tumblr media
QUESTION #5: WHAT CONCEPTS HAVE YOU MASTERED MOST? WHY DO YOU THINK SO?PROVIDE CLEAR IMAGES OF YOUR SOLUTIONS TO SAMPLE PROBLEMS OR EXERCISES ON THE TOPIC.
My most mastered concepts are Transformations of Functions and Piecewise Functions. I think I have mastered these concepts because I've already found the what-to-do's and what-not-to on answering these problems. These shortcuts and game-changers are applicable on any type of situations or problems in the field of these topics.

QUESTION #6: WHAT CONCEPTS HAVE YOU MASTERED LEAST? WHY DO YOU THINK SO?PROVIDE CLEAR IMAGES OF YOUR SOLUTIONS TO SAMPLE PROBLEMS OR EXERCISES ON THE TOPIC.
I am really struggling on the topic of Rational Zero Theorem and Descartes Rules of Signs. I think it's a really complex topic for me. I know how to factor to find the value of x but I just get really confused and empty when it comes to this topic. For me, it's because there are so many test-values that you have to try.

QUESTION #7: WHAT QUICK NOTES I HAVE FOR:
a. Your teacher;
For my Math 3 teacher, sir Joseph, I would say that he had accomplished on demonstrating the topics to us. He made sure that we really understood it by giving board works and individual assessments. He's really approachable and helpful.
b. Your classmates;
I think it's really inspiring that some of us are willing to help and tutor others. For me, that really shows our relationship with one another. I'd say that we should keep it up! On the other hand, I think that some of us relies too much on other people that we don't even review when there's an upcoming test because we know someone out there will teach us. Although it's good, I don't think that those amount of information that is just taught in a short span of time will be remembered throughout the whole examination.
c. Myself;
I know that this quarter isn't the best for me. I am deeply held down by a lot of setbacks but that doesn't really explain and makes up 90% of my performance, therefore, I can't blame it on external factors because it's very clear that it's on me. I don't take this as a grudge against myself but a chance for improvement and it's an opportunity for me to assess myself. The biggest piece of advice I can give to myself is to seek immediate help if I don't get the lesson. I should've never kept it for too long that it led to last-minute learning of all the concepts from the very start. I think I just tortured myself for this since I will have to focus on Math subject during exams week and I would also need to allocate a lot of time into this subject.
Tumblr media
That ends my learning journey for Math 3 second quarter. I hope my story had inspired you and and gave you new learnings about Math 3. Thank You!
