Light - Final Proposal

My series explores the reflection of light through water to paint an image of a world within a world. The images are cropped to cut out the external elements of the world to focus on this passage way into a new beginning. These images aim to portray the way in which the light responds to the water the same as a mirror. This exploration is pursued through the integration of the effects of reflection and what unique responses are developed through the progression of light on the water. Each image relates to each other to provide an insight to how the light is used to create this illusion of a world beneath our own or a copy of the world around us.

Adrian Donoghue

These are examples of the series of images I will try and use as my inspiration to capture the world within the world using light by taking photos of puddles and capture reflections of buildings and elements that hint at the idea I’m trying to portray.

Timothy Toole

This is another example I found that is interpreted as the same as the world through a world, this has given me inspiration to do my photography shoot for light that interprets this idea to capture the light reflecting a world beyond this world.

What inspired me the most about this image was the use of light and photography that hints at a world beyond our own and a hidden element revealed through reflective photography.

The most interesting aspect to this photography is the use of reflection to show new and exciting relationships to the existing context. I find the use of reflection relevant to this assignment and how the light is used to create these wonderful manipulations.

Proposal - Light

My proposal for light will explore the relationship between light grafitti and how this can be used to excentuate the elements within the scene. Such as using streams of light to highlight elements within the scene including trees, rocks, people etc. It is a very vauge idea at the moment but will revise it over my shoots.

These images are of my Final selection of images that i find communicate time most effectively. They portray my feelings through time in each photo and how those scenes drew me into that frame of time to capture the moment.

These images are of my Final selection option 1 that I like but I also have a second selection. These are important as they show still time but also have motion and create a sense of time through the long exposure.

Final Proposal - Time

My final investigation will be focused largely on time and how long exposed shots effect the overlay of time. These will be a series that will engage with time that will appear still but will have motion within the image.

Revised Proposal - Time

After precedent inspiration i wish to change the path towards my time project and focus on using light graffiti to influence my photographs and create a journey through time. I want to connect to a journey that will focus on how time can perceived using light representing our imprint on the world and our footprint through time as we inhabit our surrounding. This document is an interpretation of our importance in life as time passes and what we can leave behind.

After experimenting with this idea I have found that the results have a greater focus on light than time and will continue that investigation through into the next project.
