🧎🏻<- (she thought she was finally financially stable)
i know most of you know what's been going on with me, so i won't ramble for too long. the manager at that last job didn't think i was capable of doing it. i am, with accommodations for my disability, but i couldn't change her mind. now i'm between jobs again. i'm getting paid for the two weeks, so i should (hopefully) be okay through may. there's never any obligation with things like this, but for those of you who have asked how you can help, i have venmo (@anniecasper4), cashapp ($lunamoth4), and an amazon wishlist. thank you so much to everyone who's been there for me and helped me make ends meet throughout all of this. i love you gyns so much and i'll always be grateful for you 🫂❤️

“The world taught woman nothing skillful and then said her work was valueless. It permitted her no opinions and then said she did not know how to think. It forbade her to speak in public, and said the sex had no orators. It denied her the schools, and said the sex had no genius. It robbed her of every vestige of responsibility, and then called her weak. It taught her that every pleasure must come as a favor from men, and when to gain it she decked herself in paint and fine feathers, as she had been taught to do, it called her vain.”
-Carrie Chapman Catt, 1902

between the anti-abortion males who force their girlfriends to remove a fetus they don't want & the conservative males who postulate living according to “nature” when it comes to women while they obsess over made up things that are very much the antonym of natural like AI & the leftist self-proclaimed feminist males who will dig up every single misogynist insult they've ever heard to describe a woman they don't like & the anarchist anti-estabilishment, anti-hierarchy males who fantasize about subjugating women, i'm reluctant to believe that most males have any beliefs and ideals that aren't just whatever is the most convenient to them and least convenient to women at a given moment.

Men's phrase, "the worst thing she'll do is say no," proves in how much different worlds we live and how much they don't care about our comfort (no they're not blind, they just don't care).
Because it's the truth, isn't it? What else is there to do? Even me as a rabid man-hater and sapphic woman who has been Thai boxing for years, I wouldn't beat and maim them. Why would I do that? First of all, as a woman, a human being, unlike men, I don't see any point in violence.
Even so we rarely say no. Most often it's some stupid excuse like "Oh, I already have a boyfriend/husband". Because men never take "no" as an answer. The only thing that stops them is knowing that you, as a thing, already have another owner. Although that doesn't stop some men. There's a famous phrase: he won't know. Fucking idiots.
And it's kind of dangerous for women to say no. You don't know how these animals will react to rejection. A lot of women after this got stalkers who literally watch their every move. Sometimes refusal can be accompanied by beating, rape, threats and even death.
We live in different worlds. Where for others the worst outcome is "no", for others it's death.

it's interesting how in the popular imagination, middle-aged and older women are often considered entitled, annoying bitches whose feminism is outdated and manners nonexistent. these women are supposedly holding back progress and just being insufferable nags and hags in general. meanwhile, many NGOs—from animal shelters to soup kitchens, from rape crisis centres to rescue dog associations, from suicide hotlines to crime victim support services—actually rely on the unpaid labour of middle-aged and older women, who are very much overrepresented among their volunteers. often, these organisations are desperate to attract more men and young people, and some even have specific programmes to reach out to potential volunteers from those demographics! in the meantime, though: need someone to wash the remnants of an oil spill off a bird's plumage? accompany a victim of human trafficking to a hearing? sort through a pile of donations to refugees? time to call those middle-aged and older women to do their unpaid and underappreciated work.

Gazal was wounded on November 10th, when, as her family fled Gaza City’s Al-Shifa hospital, shrapnel pierced her left calf. To stop the bleeding, a doctor, who had no access to antiseptic or anesthesia, heated the blade of a kitchen knife and cauterized the wound. Within days, the gash ran with pus and began to smell. By mid-December, when Gazal’s family arrived at Nasser Medical Center—then Gaza’s largest functioning health-care facility—gangrene had set in, necessitating amputation at the hip. On December 17th, a projectile hit the children’s ward of Nasser. Gazal and her mother watched it enter their room, decapitating Gazal’s twelve-year-old roommate and causing the ceiling to collapse.
UNICEF estimates that a thousand children in Gaza have become amputees since the conflict began in October. “This is the biggest cohort of pediatric amputees in history,” Ghassan Abu-Sittah, a London-based plastic-and-reconstructive surgeon who specializes in pediatric trauma, told me recently.
