Chapter 20 - And I'd choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I'd find you and I'd choose you

He dug through his pockets, trying to find the biggest pebble of them all. He grabbed one and examined it thoroughly, feeling every ridge and bump between his fingertips. He brought it to his lips and whispered a quiet mantra that this time will make its mark. 

As he reeled back, he focused on the middle of his target. With a grunt, he threw with all his might. The world moved in slow motion as the pebble made its way. Slowly, slowly, slowly, and then…

Clink.

 It connected with the window, and his mind soared. 

“Yes! I did it!” Adrien cheered and clapped his hands together in anticipation that she would appear at any moment. “Okay, just wait a second. Don’t become too eager. Don’t scare her off again.”

He waited, but nothing happened. 

Did she not hear him? Maybe he should try again. Just one more time before he waved the white flag. 

He dug into his pocket for another rock, but just as he found another sizable one, he heard a window slide open. His face lit up as he saw Marinette appear; ethereal-looking, even in her comfiest sweater. She mouthed his name with the cutest scrunch of her nose. 

“What are you doing here?” she asked a bit louder, still a bit muffled by the distance.

Chapter 7 Preview:

As the week progressed, Marinette kept waking up expecting to be back in Atlantis, back in Adrien’s body. But each morning, she was still in her room, still herself.

Even so, when she slept, she dreamt of him – Adrien – the boy she’d been more intimate with than anyone else in her life.

His face hovered in her mind when she was awake, too, distracting her from lessons and whatever her parents and friends were saying to her. She was half aware of the way they all looked at each other, questions on the tips of their tongues.

Is she okay?

Was that just some weird spell the other day?

Should we ask her about it?

But if they did, there was no good way to answer them. No way to explain what was going on. Even if they believed her, she didn’t want to share this. Adrien was hers.

Just as, in some way, she was his. A secret between only them.

Thank you to @aoyagiworld , our bang veteran and discord expert who has been putting the server together as well as the carrd for the event! Thanks to @gaussiansphere who gathered us together to get the show on the road and @hamsteriffic for making the graphics. Other mods for the Miraculous Big Bang 2025 include the effervescent @cardiac-agreste, who has been an integral part of the event organisation as well as @monpetitchattriste and @uptoolateart ! We will be working closely together as community and event mods to this fun event!

The Best Worst Day Ever (Rated: G)

Feeling somewhat hurt and embarrassed, Adrien questions Plagg and is shocked to learn that the source of all his woes may be… his Lady? As if that’s not bad enough, Marinette unwittingly gets roped into his miserable day, and a misunderstanding between them leaves Adrien anxious about the future of their friendship. Can this day possibly get any worse?

What we liked about it: Such a fun and clever crossover with Star Trek - it fits perfectly in the ST universe, and can also be read fandom-blind. The characters have such different histories but are still so clearly /them/. It's funny and cute, with a healthy dose of angst and hurt, too. There's a very interesting undercurrent of mystery, adventure, and discovery.

What we liked about it: Cerebral, emotional, inspiring, and always inventive. I love it when a well-written story expands the lore in a creative, yet plausible way. There’s a direct line from canon to what this story and its siblings in the Breaking Free series do, and it’s a gift to the fandom.
