Kol had been standing near the edge of the room for a while, looking out for his next victim. Most of them that night had been easy prey but he wanted someone who would be more of a challenge this time. Someone he could play with before he killed them. So far that person hadn’t be found but he didn’t give up. He glanced at the girl stood next to him before surveying the party again. “She has indeed. My sister has never been one to do things by halves and for some reason his party is important to her.”

He looked at the table of drinks for a second. Of course the finest drinks weren’t out, the best stuff couldn’t be wasted on insolent high schools but there were choices that many of them would probably never get to drink in their short lifetimes. “The depends on strong you take your drinks and how expensive your tastes are love.”

               fondness is evident again when she smiles, this time in response to the words of the person who seemed to have appeared next to her. there is no need for her to turn and look to confirm their identity, for she would know that voice anywhere. she would always know all of her children’s voices, even if, these days, they bore only the smallest resemblance to the people they had once been.

               “she sounds like quite the character, your sister.” esther muses; and it’s only then that she turns her head, taking her first real glimpse of— “kol mikaelson.” her fifth child, fourth son, and the only one to display an aptitude for magic. the witch’s eyes travel up and down, noticing every detail, changes and similarities, before committing them to her memory. he still has the looks of a handsome boy once so enthralled by magic. the thought strikes a painful chord within her. if only he was known for being a tremendously skilled mikaelson witch instead having to carry the legacy of blood and destruction on his shoulders.

               “i can’t believe it.” she shakes her head in faux shock. “my first party in a new town and immediately i have the infamous”—another tug of heartstrings—“kol mikaelson suggesting drinks to me. how did i get so lucky?”

               “she has done a remarkable job with this party, has she not?” esther comments, regarding decorations and party-goers with her lips curved into a fond smile. ever since she was a child, she’s always hold a healthy amount of appreciation toward various festivities and gatherings — they were, after all, an integral part of the village life. and despite the fact that she is most definitely not here to relax or have fun ( she is a woman with a mission ), she can take a moment to appreciate what her daughter has done.

               “which drink i should sample first?” suddenly, very abruptly, she turns toward the person close to her. movements as hasty as that one are uncharacteristic of esther, but they describe nora, the silly host of this body, down to a t — and since she is still interested in maintaining her cover, nora she shall become. furthermore, if she is forced to down something, a little splash of magic ought to do the trick of getting rid of any and all alcohol “i’ve heard good things of all and i’m having trouble deciding.”

was that [ ELIZABETH OLSEN ] ? oh, never mind, that’s [ ESTHER MIKAELSON ] . speaking of them, i’ve heard they’re a/an [ THOUSAND+ ] year old [ FEMALE ] [ WITCH ], known for being [ LOVING ] and [ STRATEGIC ] but also [ DECEPTIVE ] and [ RUTHLESS ]. what most don’t know about [ HER ], though, is that [ SINCE KLAUS HAS HER PHYSICAL BODY LOCKED IN A COFFIN SEALED BY A COMPLEX SPELL, SHE WAS FORCED TO POSSESS THE BODY OF ANOTHER WITCH. IN ESTHER’S MIND, IT’S A DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD. ON ONE HAND, HER CURRENT BODY ISN’T AS POWERFUL AS HER ORIGINAL ONE. ON THE OTHER HAND, THIS ALLOWS HER TO OBSERVE THE STATE OF THE TOWN (AND HER FAMILY) BEFORE FULFILLING HER ULTIMATE GOAL: RIDDING THE WORLD OF VAMPIRES ].

alright so i believe most of you are familiar with esther’s backstory.

she was born in the kingdom of norway and is the younger sister of dahlia.

their village was destroyed by the vikings, but esther & dahlia survived bc of their witchy powers.

my gal then went ahead & fell in love with one of their captors, mikael. she loved him to quit magic, well, until she realized she was barren. that’s when she went to her sister and bargained with her so that she would be able to get pregnant.

and she did — two with the third one on the way! however, as a price for dahlia’s help, she had to give away her firstborn babe, freya. the loss devastated her, but she did it & bs’d to mikael that plague had killed freya. however, this also marked her return to magical arts.

then the fam + her witch friend ayanna moved to the new world. with things having grown cold between herself and mikael, a certain werewolf caught her eye and we all know what happened (hi nik!).

at the time,she valued mikael more, tho, so she went back to him & forbade ansel from ever approaching nik. 

she had more children by mikael and things seemed ok for a while.

then certain dumbasses had to go & watch the wolves transform, resulting in the death of henrik. the loss of another child devastated esther further and thanks to mikael’s insistence, the originals were created.

what she didn’t anticipate, however, was the truth of her transgression coming out with nik’s first kill. to make up for it, she bound his wolf side with the hybrid curse.

soon after that, rip esther (@klaus thanks).

since then, she’s been watching her family deteriorate from the other side. watching them become monsters has broken her heart and she would love nothing more than to fix her mistake.

and that’s why she’s in town (just like in canon s3): to kill her children. however, given that this body she’s possessing is weaker than her original one, she also wants that coffin from klaus.

btw i hc her “og” face to be lena headey bc alice evans doesn’t have enough resources.

anyway that’s enough about esther?? she’s basically in town to get rid of vampires and is fully ready to manipulate & bullshit & deceive & betray to achieve her goal.

A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT THE WITCH SHE’S POSSESSING RIGHT NOW:

her name is nora madsen. (elizabeth olsen fc)

she’s a 24 year old witch from norway. 

she technically belongs to a local coven, but she’s been traveling too much, wandering from one place to another in pursuit of knowledge.

she can come off as uncaring, but she just doesn’t / didn’t want to be tied down. she’s too interested in learning everything she can about being a witch.

basically i’m still kinda developing her character, but i’d love it if your characters had ties to nora / had met her at some point. it’s not necessary, but with the eventual revelation that esther is possessing her, i think it’d be fun!

also um hi i’m hanna, 21 year old nerd hailing from the gmt+2 timezone. i promise i’m not intimidating at all, so pls come & plot / chat with me !!
