🌟It’s Opal’s next big opportunity to shine!

Since her dazzling debut on exhibit this spring, Opal quickly settled right into her new home and bonded with her raftmates. 💙

Now, Opal is ready to tackle her next big learning milestone. She’s taking a break from our exhibit to spend some time behind the scenes and observe as her raftmate Selka rears an adoptive pup. This is Opal’s next big step in (hopefully!) becoming a surrogate mother one day, just like our other exhibit otters.

Opal is our youngest exhibit otter at just over one year of age. This critical time with Selka and other female otters will expose Opal to social dynamics similar to what she would experience in a raft of wild sea otters. 🦦🦦🦦

Our sea otter surrogacy program is the first of its kind—an innovative approach to rescuing, rearing, and returning sea otter pups to the wild.

A Spore creature I made recently called the Shrobster! I took inspiration primarily from shrimp, lobsters, and ants. Here's it dancing in a top hat:

Spore Contest!

It's been a while hasn't it? The theme for this one shall be "Rodent", for the type for creation, literally anything but a creature is allowed. Have fun!

The Beastieball credits are actually really cool! Spoiler for the fun gimmick below

So the credits show your beasties as you recruited them running around from one side of the screen to the other on a minature summary of their journey. It shows their relationships as they develop and even the order you fought the ranked coaches, the teams even swap out players as appropriate. I thought it was incredibly cute and charming!

Kiwi's surprise Mahi-mahi dinner tonight.

Kiwi Mouse found a new favorite food! She was going crazy for the Mahi-mahi. She was running around like a youthful rat again. I have not seen her this excited in awhile. I'll probably end up making this a twice monthly snack. She ended up taking the whole piece of fish at first and running all over as I tried to wrestle it back. You can see her fitting it in her mouth in the photo with the plate. It was gone the next frame lol.
