every time i listen to this song it gets crazier like "your light fingers threw the dart shattered the lamp into darkness it cast us" is something peter doherty wrote about HIMSELF so that CARL could sing it about him in a song PETER wrote about the grief of their relationship and how much it was hurting him AND CARL AGREED TO SING IT the pre chorus is literally Peter singinng "i'd take you anywhere" while Carl sings "i can't take you anywhere" DIRECTLY addressing the fact that Peter feels eternally devoted to carl and never wants to lose him while making it seem like carl is . Embarrassed? Ashamed? Concerned? about Peter ITS ALL IN THE SONG. don't even get me started on the fact that Peter wrote "if you wanna try there's no worse you can do I know you lie I know you lie I'm still in love with you" AND CARL SANG IT WITH HIM!!!! for the fucking album. Like girls you are so crazy. did you guys know that the first time they performed this live (before they recorded it for the album) Peter heard Carl singing HIS lyrics and got so upset he kicked his foot through an amp and left the stage.
