First impressions.

It is a good thing that I don't have lessons right now, because I would have a hard time explaining the new accent I have developed.

I have originally heard about this game through one of the voice actors, but was terrified of the Fair Folk not that interested in the story at the time. Still, getting to hear and learn a bit of Gaelic is not something I would pass up.

I really appreciate food and eating becoming a language of its own over the course of the game; I hope never to know what a famine is like, but many of the interactions were either relatable or just very telling. Other interesting details that stood out were a language spreading like a disease and there not being anything outside the island/beyond the water.

Morse's system of telegraphing was already used in '44, I checked!

A shapeshifter (gender: ':P' pronouns: ';)') known everywhere but never clearly allied with any sides? A nuisance and a delight at the very same time? Demands a place at the table? Starts a fight over dinner? Never makes a mess they 'cannot clean up'?

It follows Brigid Féarglas (Shae's sister) on her first day as a handmaiden to Queen Aífe, picking up almost immediately after chapter three of Shae's route. (If you haven't played that yet, you may want to!)

It's about 11k words long, and shows off several new locations in the Seelie palace!

Along with Brigid, you'll see a few more familiar faces: Aífe, Keagan, and... Robin?! On the Seelie side?! Oh no...

If you already have the game on Steam, the side story will currently be accessible to you in the "side stories" book in the main menu! For itch users, you'll need to re-download the game. We hope you enjoy!

Hello, Moirai Myths team. I have a question. The Good People is set in Ireland. I mean, Irish Gaelic is used alongside Irish accents so that is what I assume. If so, why are the fairies named seelies and unseelies? Those terms and the court system are both Scottish. Is the protagonist Irish and the fairies of Scottish lore? Hi! Thanks for the question!

While our game is primarily informed by Irish mythology, we have incorporated several other mythological inspirations from nearby regions (such as Scotland) for thematic purposes. In this particular instance, and to issue a small correction, we used the 'Seelie' and 'Unseelie' designations to refer to the current political factions of Tír na nÓg, and specifically chose to use the terms Seelie/Unseelie because they are a useful, existing dichotomy in fairy folklore (e.g. Seelie = good/benevolent, Unseelie = mischievous/malevolent) that can help audiences understand the initial vibes of the two factions, but eventually challenge those expectations when more information is presented (e.g. why/who considers the Seelie 'good'? What does it mean to be 'good'?).

That being said, most of the characters in our game are Tuatha Dé Danann - i.e. the demigods of ancient Ireland. Think of it this way: In our universe, 'Seelie/Unseelie' is a nationality, whereas Tuatha Dé is a species designation. We hope this clears things up!

After you click on the World Map button in our main menu, you will be taken to a map of Tír na nÓg. Originally, this was all the World Map did, but now you will have the ability to click on various landmarks and explore the world yourself!

Navigate between environments with the arrows, and as you poke around, you'll likely run into some familiar faces! If you click on them, they'll interact with you, and we plan on adding more short scenes/interactions as time goes on. We'll add more spots to visit as well! Along with a healthy handful of horsing around, if you catch my meaning.

Hi, what's the latest situation re: release dates?

We're gunning for a fall release for Shae and Maeve pt. 2, but we plan on having a side story/feature update out before then! This is later than we had hoped for re: Shae and Maeve, but to be completely honest, the current political climate has our half-U.S., half-Canadian team...stressed! To put it mildly.

Nevertheless: Our priority right now is nose-to-the-grindstone working on content for the upcoming release(s), which is why our blog/other social media has been quieter lately. We're still here! Surviving. But between the aforementioned and normal day-to-day life, we find it easier to be productive by focusing on the essentials, i.e. the game itself.
