9 Young Stylish South African Creatives & Instagrammers We Love.
Listed in no particular order.
1. Tony Gum
Beautiful, artistic and creative, Tony Gum takes some of the most striking and intriguing self-portraits we’ve come across. Her shots re-imagining a South African-inspired Coca-Cola campaign is not only visually striking, but creates a new dialog around representation, heritage and branding. We can’t wait to post more on her!
2. Siki Msuseni
She’s an uber cute Cape Town-blogger with a fresh outlook on fashion. What we love most about her is warm nature and her ability to seamlessly go from cool and casual looks, to the most fabulous feminine outfits fit for any formal occasion.
3. Bambatha Jones
Sporting his signature take on the classic hi-top fade, Mongezi Mcelu (who goes by the artistic moniker ‘Bambatha Jones’) expresses his style effortlessly and with ease. Not only does he look good in front of the camera, he doubles as a photographer and creative director, producing some highly thought provoking work with a socially conscious edge.
4. Trevor Stuurman
Where do we start with this fashion insider wunderkid? Aside from taking beautiful street style shots and having one of the best hat collections, Trevor Stuurman, who we’ve interviewed in the past, is the guy you want to follow if you want to stay clued-in on the fashion industry in South Africa, but with a refreshing personal perspective.
5.  Bobo Ndima
A stylist with a personal style that’s as cool and sophisticated as the work he puts out, that’s Bob the Stylist for you.
6. _Twala
Real life cyber girl visuals with a 90s twist and a good dose of all black looks. Yes! We get the feeling Niobe would approve.
7. Yoliswa Mqoco
If you recognize her absolutely strikingly gorgeous face, it’s because Yoliswa was the muse for this equally breathtaking portrait by Loyisa Mkize. Beyond that, Yoliswa has a style and look all her own that’s both radiant and gracious – and we love it.
8. Maitele Wawe & The Style Rebels SA
If you’re ever tired of perusing through conventional fashion blogs and instagram accounts, may we direct you to the stream of the fashion forward man of style that is Maitele Wawe? A self-described creative who constantly challenges fashion rules and style status quos, it’s no surprise that he’s also part of a trio that does the very same. Beyond style, Maitele spearheaded and established The Social Market, a creative event where a unique fashion and lifestyle community gather in Pretoria on a monthly basis.
9. ISEEADIFFERENTYOU
These guys need no introduction but we highly suggest you follow the individual accounts of the brothers Mukheli: Fhatuwani and Rendani, and Vuyo Mpantsha, the third member of the trio.
