Monsta Care
The fluffy and wholesome visual novel start off a bit dark, but it is not scary at all much rather endearing and mysterious must i say. I didn’t keep an eye on the clock, but i believe it took a bit over half an hour to play trough the whole game, which was just the right time to deliver the quick and surface level story. With an adorable art style and beautifully composed music it’s quite the treat to play.

Considering that this was made for a(n) (indie) game jam, I would give this an 8/10. The reason for that is, that it had the potential to be a very fleshed out game with a great lore but because of it’s short dead line and production time it didn’t even have the opportunity. Still, for what it’s worth - great game!

Symbiosis
I was positively surprised by the complexity and details of this game. I only reached ending A but I will try to get ending B another time. The music was nice and fitting. Loved the art and the pixel art style for the house gave the dev a broad room for story telling - as it is very easy to just add a hitbox and some lore onto a few pixel object on a shelf haha!

8/10 would have liked more instructions on where to go next in some situations as i was pretty lost quite often

the five steps to ensuring momo graduates successfully!!!
super cute lesbian visual novel, talks about bullying, homophobia, suicide and heavily implies Maladaptive Daydreaming. With very cute art and a compelling story, it was quite the treat to read trough.

Impostor
I was only able to reach 3 out of 5 endings, but I can still say that this was a good game. In my opinion was the voice acting a bit over done but i’m pretty sure that is intentional. It was quite the hassle tho, to skip trough all the scenes to get different endings as the skip function takes a looooooong time instead of just skipping to the next choice - it actually just speeds up all the scenes in the game.

Fear me
Very cool art and great music. No voice acting, just gibberish but that just made the whole experience even more surreal than it already was. The masks really creeped me out and the sudden cut to the protagonist at the beginning really jump scared me a little. Really didn’t expect this game to be so creepy looking in full screen

8/10 would have loved more content, also that dialog with the survivors felt forced but I see it’s necessity.

this game is self aware
Quite cute, didn’t really laugh out loud at any particular part but it was still funny. It was to be expected, since this was created for a video game jam, but every “route” was super short - around 5 sentences each. I would have liked them to be a bit more detailed as the concept of a comedic self aware character like “Bernd das Brot” can be really well done.

embracing escape
Embracing escape is a text-based video game that labels itself a cyberpunk sci-fi visual novel. I must admit it is, as promised, story-rich and full of text. But in about half an hour the story has conveyed nothing but sheer boredom. The dialog felt dragged out and even tho it is supposed to be a quick play I had to take multiple breaks to get through the whole thing. Maybe the story is going somewhere with the still unreleased two chapters, but I highly doubt it. In all honesty: it was boring, predictable, and also not that innovative in any way or form. I will most likely still play the remaining chapters to be completely sure. Still, it was just too tiring to be called a decent game even if the rest is going to be phenomenal.

(Don’t) Open your eyes
a truly chilling game. Even without the visuals (not saying they aren’t creepy ass hell), it really gave me goosebumbs. The voice acting it top tier and really made me pause the game a few times to look  around the room. Though it left me a little bit disapointed that we never figured out who was the person (or thing?) that taught the visitor to speak, ect. I still found the ending to be rather satisfying

9/10, it just left me a tiny bit to curious about the origins of the creature to truly say it was perfect.

One last game
the tension between each explosion, the person trying to open the door and the shaking of the board... i really had to close my eyes every time a crash was heard, the tension was real! Amazing for only 3 minutes of play-time. To add onto that, i find it saddening that this could be the reality to people in the Ukraine right now

Loveless on Lockdown
A dating simulator set in the pandemic, quite the fun concept! Like in real life, a lot of the gameplay is (if i remember it correctly) indoors in front of the protagonists laptop where she is chatting with her online friend (ML). I only played the route with the male love intrest as I, myself, like men but i will most likely try out the route of the female love intrest at a later date. Like the premise, you still could have got more out of it.

6/10, would have called it average/over done if it wasn’t for the pandemic alined plot.

The Villainess who did not reincarnate still doesn’t know of her fate
the art was quite pretty and all of the endings were pretty fun to achieve. The English translation had some major errors which made some scenes very hard to understand. Looking past the translation and focusing on the plot, the story makes use of a lot of very cliché tropes in reincarnation romacne in a humorous way. The story is very self aware and even threw in a joke ending where the villainess ends up crushing on her teacher, a reappearing chracter.

in my opinion it is quite the ok way to pass time and i would recommend it to people if they really have nothin else to play, but i wouldn’t call it a revolutionary type of otome game. 5/10

Liar liar 2
the continuation of “Liar Liar” , the protagonist is now in highschool and is dating Miho (a character from the earlier game). The plot resolves around the fact that the victim of the earlier game, Tanaka Koshi is alive and the protagonist and her love intrest trying to figure out the mysterious circumstances of his revival.
Tumblr media
I’m not sure if i unlocked all posible endings so I will most definetly replay it so see if I missed any. Still, it was once again a very nice game which i enjoyed quite a bit and most likely trough the already preexisting backstory and relashionships of the chracter it was even more enjoyable then the prior game. 8/10
