Uuuuuuughhhhhh I’m back into Merlin again and I had a thought for an au where Merlin was raised along side Leon because Hunith needed to get Merlin away from Cenred and Leon’s family owed Gaius or Balinor a huge favour so Leon became a kinda older brother/ watchman for Merlin and knew all about his magic and tried to keep him away from the castle and most of the upper town growing up so he’d stay safe but then Merlin ends up helping Gaius one time cos his mother’s too sick to and is suddenly Prince Arthur’s manservant and Leon is livid but can’t say anything that won’t give Merlin away and-

and I have other stuff to write and have never been all that good at writing Merlin fics, so now I sit and suffer because I want to read this.

in A Servant of Two Masters when Arthur wakes up and is like “oh good, red and blue blurry shapes are close, it was just a nightmare” and then those blurry shapes turn out to be not Merlin and Arthur asks “who are you”

and George says “I am your new manservant, sire”

and we know he wasn’t looking into the room because otherwise he would have noticed the breakfast on the table, to which George draws his attention later

okay guys, there’s something we need to talk about more.. 

netflix just released the film ‘ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga’ which is an indian movie about a girl who’s into girls and how she gets the courage to come out and face her family and be with the woman she loves. sound familiar? yeah, i know it’s the basic plot of most hollywood lgbtq movies but that’s not the point. 

this is literally the first indian movie i’ve seen on a famous platform, accessible by anyone, that actually represents the lgbtq community in all its beauty and love and affection, rather that scorning or mocking it. 

the movie is beautiful and the scenes and the fluff and the cute couple and the emotions just make it so worth watching, and that’s not all.

i’m an indian bisexual teenager and i would’ve been so happy to have been exposed to a movie like this when i was younger. if i had seen this kind of portrayal in the film industry, i doubt that i would’ve been the afraid young girl i was and i would’ve had the courage to do what the main characters did and just BE MYSELF. 

all i hope is that someone sees this movie, some little girl out there sees it and knows that she is not alone, that she is not abnormal. with a topic such as this, which has been treated as taboo for decades now in my country (still is kinda), when it is actually being represented and being represented well, i can’t help but wanna scream about it from the rooftops.

4 times Arthur looked down when Merlin said something nice about him and one time he didn’t.

#i want to point out that arthur was insecure and had several doubts about him being a good king/person #and whenever merlin said he had faith in him or complimented him #he didn’t agree because he didn’t see the same person merlin saw in himself #he still accepted his words tho because it was /merlin/ and he knew he meant them #but in 5x13 merlin didn’t talk about arthur /the king/ he talked about the man about the first time they met and how he was born for arthur #how merlin’s magic was for him and he wouldn’t change a thing #arthur had several doubts about him being a good man/king and leader #he didn’t feel he deserved the faith merlin had in him #but he knew how much he meant to merlin even before the magic reveal #(if anything the magic reveal was the last piece of a puzzle) #so when merlin said ‘there will never be another like you arthur’ arthur not only knew it was 1000% true #but he could see himself as someone who deserved that devotion and love #because it was mutual… knowing merlin was even more powerful than him #knowing merlin protected him and didn’t care for his crown or had any other intentions but his happiness #his eyes are full of warmth and joy jfc #maybe the reason why he didn’t look down and stared directly at merlin’s eyes was because he felt the same too #there will never be another like merlin for arthur either

The other day I went to McDonald’s with my family and the guy who took my order was really loud and was basically like “HAPPY HOLIDAYS WHAT CAN I GET YOU” and I was like wow I can’t let this guy outmatch me so I yelled “I’LL TAKE A HAPPY MEAL WITH THE NUG NUGS IF I MAY” you know, like a natural well-adjusted epitome of adulthood 19 year old and he was like “CERTAINLY WOULD YOU LIKE THE MIGHTY KIDS MEAL INSTEAD WITH EXTRA FRIES” and I was so sleep deprived I essentially blacked out and apparently leaned over the counter like I was robbing the place, raised my eyebrow like a suave robin hood and said “HECK YES I WOULD GOOD SIR” and then I sat down and he yelled from across the store “WOULD YOU LIKE THE PURPLE OR BLUE SPIDER-MAN” and since purple is the more superior color that’s how I answered and long story short my parents think college changed me and that I’m now the poster child for being social and I’ve only been asked once why I’m not in a relationship yet but I know it’s gonna be brought up again and how do i tell my parents it’s because whenever I eat in the dining hall I spend the entire time playing bumper cars with the wheeley chairs and all I eat is pixie sticks and the last time I was in the library (where I’m supposed to work next semester, deAr GoD) I ripped my leggings in the bathroom pulling up my pants and I walked the entire 20 mins back to my dorm with my neon underwear peeking out from the holes like a 17th century harlot with a cocaine addiction and I’ve essentially been living off jars of peanut butter and the soundtrack to the bee movie for the past year

Full time work should entitle someone to enough pay for rent, food, bills, and leisure activities. Full time work for a full life wage. You put in your 8 hours a day, 5 days a week? You should be able to afford the basic shit you need in life, no matter where you work.
