I have read that #friends are like a "second self". When I met up with friends in #Europe who I hadn't seen in over 10 years and they presented me with well-kept fragments of my own #self that I had totally #forgotten about, I understood that. I remember having one of those wintry conversations in my friend's kitchen in Stresa and telling our cups of #coffee and her #cat: "friends are like guardians of the self." Today, I tripped over some star dust from 2013 while cleaning up my inbox. I used to collect letters. It must be a #writers thing - to value #words and their #meaning. And the powerful #action and #reaction that can follow them. But in #conversations with myself, I disagree with that very statement. Valuing words perhaps is more of "a #readers thing". Words come easily to writers (for some more than others). So easily that we can go from hell to heaven in a paragraph without moving a muscle in our faces, #hypnotic #catharsis. Readers on the other hand, they sip every word bit by bit absorbing their meaning, hypnotised. Maybe writers can only feel the power of their words if being voyeur's of their readers reactions or better, actions! Today while reading a message to a friend who is no longer around, I read #myself. With all my instinctive habit of thanking everyone for everything, I looked around to find no one to thank... But the words I wrote and the fact that they have been read. #amwriting #merci #obrigada #thankyou #gracias #mysevenyears_in_Oz #interactivemonologues

The Art of Football Exhibition
Unique art exhibition featuring Brazil World Cup 2014 opens this week near the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney
As Time Out Sydney would say, "two worlds collide as contemporary art explores the beauty of football". Local and international artists explore current media trends to enable visually and thought-provoking contemporary art experience. The exhibition opens to the public on June 20 through July and there will be workshop available for viewers.
Sydney, 18 June, 2014 – Joining the momentum of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, 2 levels exhibitions in association with The Rocks Pop-Up Projects present the exhibition The Art of Football: The Beauty, The Social, The Political. The exhibition encompasses the disparate worlds of art and football. While some artists depict the players as heroes and important role models, others have chosen to explore the ways in which the sport connects and communicates with its supporters through the media and the economic impact.
Presented in one of the most exciting venues in Sydney - Shop 2.05 The Rocks, adjoined to the Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition is curated by Clay De Paula, cultural producer, international curator and art collector of various projects in Australia, Brazil, USA and China; and art writer Helen Symons.
2014 World Cup in Brazil has been prolific to artists to reflect and they have exclusively created compelling visual work commissioned for this exhibition. They discuss the beauty behind such a glorious sport event, yet more controversial than ever, given Brazil’s economic prosperity and political upheavals.
The project is a lively forum that unites and inspires people not only it involves the passion for the sport but also as it appreciates the impact the event itself can have upon society both locally and internationally.
The absolute stunning result of the art-football crossover gives an opportunity to the audience to experience the excitement and dynamics that only art can provide.
Presented in an array of media such as painting, sculpture, sight-specific sculptural installation, photography, video, graffiti, show of light and more, the project offers a multitude of opportunities to the viewer to reflect and enjoy the best of both worlds.
The Art of Football: The Beauty, The Social, The Political.will offer various workshops by local artists working with ceramics, graffiti and 3D Printing. Please follow 2 levels exhibition on Facebook to be informed about dates and time of the activities.

Atlas Brings More Mobility & Choice to Users
Atlas 6.0 is the new and updated version of the Globe Software’s integration software. It takes the great features already available in Microsoft Office and into the app world, offering more real-time data access opportunities for the mobile decision-maker.
London, May 20 will see the launch of the Atlas 6.0 beta program. European partners and customers have been invited to learn about what the software will deliver and how they can take advantage of its new and innovative features. The software now comes with more data services over and above Microsoft Dynamics AX which will allow businesses to easily build sophisticated reports in real-time from many different sources.
Re-designed and re-imagined – “Atlas has now been re-designed and re-imagined from the ground up. It has become mobile and now has the ability to extend the reach of ERP and CRM systems to more users, via Microsoft Office, a new desktop app and devices. This means that you can blend information from multiple systems to be consumed in a manner appropriate to the user. Old school systems would force you to use multiple solutions to achieve the same outcome. With the complete offering Atlas 6.0 you can apply it to all of your systems at once. For example, your sales force may employ Atlas enabled PowerPoint slides that brings in real-time customer ordering information for formal presentations and the Atlas mobile app for more ad hoc questions from customers. Overall, Atlas 6.0 brings efficiencies to your reporting and integration systems.” explains Steve Wright, co-founder and director of Globe Software.
In a world that revolves around mobile behaviour on both personal and professional levels, Globe Software invested 2 years development effort to build a suite future-ready. Wright explains the company was seeking to achieve more consistency across all platforms, yet maintaining familiarity for its existing customers too. “Using this software, having secure access to cross-platform data has never been so easy. We know by having this app, set across multiple systems, users are going to get an increase in efficiency, fast. They know the figures are up to date and are numbers that they can trust.” says Wright.
Trending now – Wright outlines that the touch approach to software has been affecting all software design industry for a while, when he compares it to the first time Atlas hit the market 12 years ago. “Everyone now expects the same simplicity of the touch oriented interface of their phone or tablet when they move to a desktop. Atlas 6.0 has been designed with this in mind, with touch enabled features in the Office, Desktop and mobile apps. Decision-makers can now use their favourite devices – Apple, Microsoft or Samsung – to get the information they need to make that well-informed choice for their business. In summary, we are offering an efficient way of consolidating information from various sources into a form fit for purpose, regardless of where you are and with the simplicity we all expect.”

We are not one, we are 199.321 million, Jennifer Lopez
And it finally hits Australia - thanks pedestrian.tv. Now, unarguably, Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leite ,in their own booty shaking careers, do share a proportional and congruent "popness" to their music style and respective niches. Does the trio-combo make sense? From a commercial point of view, yes! How would the Brazilians have liked the song better?

If Claudia Leite had been given more space to express herself. What is wrong about the song? For some, everything. But as I said, for those who appreciate that particular type of vibe, it fits the bill, nothing is wrong. What do Brazilians dislike about this in general, then? Being "re-colonised" culturally by the North American interpretation of our own culture. Now, I invite you to go check out the majority of little (or big) community events that the majority of Brazilian or Brazilian friendly "cultural buzzers" organise overseas. You will find the same or even worse cliches! - I am here to say it for myself, having organised some of them. Will it get "community support", yes of course. Why is this one not gelling then? It is not about the pop recipe and its typical ingredients.
Brazil consumes much worse pop atrocities than that and does not complain. The question here is not about music, it is about politics, my friends. Politics! What else do I have to add? Brazil has a growing population of left-wingers, pseudo anarchic intellectual hipsters. Never would a song like that be accepted as the "official World Cup song." But then again, anti-hits followed by unacceptable attitude seem to be popular, right? Like Miley Cyrus' disgusting twerking, yes? So there you go.
People are talking about this all over the world. Whoever had never heard about Claudia Leite, now does. "Falem mal, mas falem de mim", as the Brazilian saying goes. So well done marketing team for the spin. Another case that "bad publicity is good publicity." AND yes, you may all disagree. And disagree more and more and more. Cheers.

Astral Flowers - The universe at our reach
Astral Flowers
Opening night: Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 5:30pm - #Fremantle Library

FLAVIO ROSA’s third photography exhibition in Australia, this time, the Australian Fremantle-based photographer originally from Brazil invites everyone to appreciate the many “planets” that can be around us and that are often taken for granted in the rushed day-to-day lives of modern times. Rosa randomly picked, froze and photographed wild Western Australian flowers creating a stellar atmosphere around them. The results, some say, are cosmic. “I am very happy to see this work come into fruition.”, Flavio Rosa.
ASTRAL FLOWERS – THE UNIVERSE AT OUR REACH
Photography exhibition explores contrasts of colours, actual temperature of real objects and WA's wild flowers beauty to reflect upon life here and "out there in the universe".

Astral Flowers is Flavio Rosa's third photography exhibition. He uses the contrast of hot and cold and explores the variety of natural resources that Perth can offer by inviting the viewers on a visually paradoxical quest. He achieves that by freezing WA wild flowers and photographing them on scorching hot surfaces.
“As a photographer I am ultimately an observer. My challenge was to create a peaceful coexistence between the contrast of the micro and the macro. I basically put myself out there to capture the beauty of these ‘micro universes’, the flowers, with the purpose of transforming them in the representation of the actual universe itself.”, says Flavio Rosa.
While the ice transforms itself back into its original form revealing the colours of the frozen flowers in the glare of Perth sunshine, Flavio Rosa clicks that melting image, freezing the moment again.
The combination of this paradoxical process and transformation of the image tricks our eyes to believe we are able to see beyond Perth’s vast sky. The extreme close up allows the dimension and precision to reminds us of satellite photographs.
Is there life in other planets? Maybe. But our “Astral Flowers”, wild and often taken for granted, are right by our feet, at our doorstep. Near a neglected corner where Flavio Rosa finds its colourful flowers and inspiration for his current artistic photography work. “For me putting the ‘wild flowers’under the light of my lenses was to give importance to something that can be more worldly other than mundane.”, says Flavio Rosa
About Flavio Rosa
Flavio Rosa is an Australian Fremantle based photographer originally from Brazil who has been developing his work as a photographer in WA for the past 10 years. His main project exhibited a couple of times already at the Kulcha Arts Centre, Frozen, portrays actual photographs that have been frozen. By working with the bubbles formed just before the water freezes, Rosa, intervenes in the photograph reaching visually enriching results. In his latest exhibition, “Astral Flowers”, Flavio uses similar techniques, this time, freezing the actual object to be photographed.
