went to my best friend’s house last night and saw a little plushie dog and plushie cat that had been sewn together down the middle into a two-headed chimera. I said, “did you do that?” she said, “yes, I saved them.”

turns out at her old job when the last two plushies hadn’t sold and became deadstock, her boss told her to cut them up and throw them out. so she cut them each in half, preserved their heads, and then rebuilt them together.

cannot stop thinking about the way these little plushies were approached with the instinct of a Vampire or some sort of ancient god. “Let me save you [turn you into a monster].”

it'd be cool if they made mecha series that subverted the usual format of country-based robot battle tournaments with super robots in favour of something a bit more authentic to the way conflicts tend to work in real life, maybe even to the extent of full-blown war drama with an undercurrent of the technology actually advancing as the timeline moves forward

help me cover an unexpected gap in fixed income

so tl;dr, my last student loan payment was at the start of June. i’m too sick to continue with tertiary education, so there won’t be any more. my next regular, non-deducted UC payment (welfare benefits) is at the end of July.

this is a serious problem.

i’m disabled, long-term unemployable due to that, and estranged from birth family. my only regular income is from state benefits.

rent is covered, B”H, so i’m looking to raise £1200 to cover me for July, plus extra margin just in case.
