I just think that one character reaching up and placing their hands on anothers waist to help lift them down from a horse, their bodies coming oh so close together as the second person slides down, chest to chest with the first, their eye levels meeting for a moment before the first settles the second person on the ground, never breaking eye contact the whole time as they share a heated stare and let out a ragged breath in a will they or won't they kiss moment, until one takes a step back, is a top tier trope

Outlining a The Remnant Chronicles fic because I want Kaden to kiss Rafe senseless instead of punching him to the floor. Or maybe after punching him to the floor.

i know we all laugh (mostly fondly) about the paper-thin plots in porn that only exist to make the sex happen, but i was reading some old stargate fic over the weekend, and i really think we're sleeping on the paper-thin hurt/comfort plot that only exists to force the characters to FEEL THINGS.

like, is this scenario realistic? no. does it make any rational sense? no. does it provide a built-in excuse for a character to collapse, bloody and disoriented, into the arms of his beloved/friend/partner? obviously, that's the whole point of this exercise.

i love it. it's my favorite thing in the world.

Nueit d'almetas

In Aragon, a holiday similar to Halloween has traditionally been celebrated. The nueit d'almetas (souls' night) is a night where according to tradition, souls roam through our world. To frighten these souls, pumpkins are emptied and decorated, and a candle is put inside to create shadows and lead the souls to their resting places in the cemetery. In different towns and villages, people also dress up as these souls to roam the streets.

It has been hard for me to talk about how what is going on with Israel and Palestine is affecting me personally, but I grew up in Gaza and most of my family still lives there. My father did not survive the bombings last week and I have not been able to contact my younger sister in days. I am try to being understanding that most people do not have personal connections to what is happening and therefore are justifying their silence, but is heartbreaking to see this misinformation being spread. What’s happening there is a genocide, not a war. It is not antisemitic to support Palestine, it’s not even antiemetic to criticise Israel. There is no grey area or neutrality regarding this, and it is so easy to find resources that will educate you on the subject. It is my people and my home being destroyed so I will never be silent about this, but I please urge everyone to get informed and start speaking up and finding ways they can help.

My most recent make is this ancient Minoan ensemble! It consists of a tunic (heanos) worn under a flounced wraparound skirt shaped like a double-bladed axe (labrys). Despite how heavy the linen skirt is, the entire outfit is surprisingly easy to move around in. I even waded into the river to rescue a bee!
