Sept-ingo day 21: ice with hnk!submas twins from @diamagneticcoordinationcomplex's series, Crystal Conductors.
this is a bit different from what the scene was in the fic but :"))) i love their whole series very much XDDD the twins' interactions were sweet and the way they chose to solve the problem of going home from hisui left me surprised when i first read it :))) and i think i cried a bit when they finally did it :")))
and if you wonder why ice is related to them, i recommend you read the fic to find out :)))

Sept-ingo day 6: new pokemon with the young trio and lady the trubbish :)))
i headcanon that they met elesa whe they were about 3 badges in which would means they would be in castelia city around this time :))) ages? about 17 maybe because in unova, trainers started at 16.
a little bit about me: my first ever pokemon game was Black and White and the weirdest pokemon for me at the time was trubbish, purely due to its concept. it's a friend make from trash! so odd! but i had since found them to be on the cuter side of the spectrum :))) love them little rabbit like ears :))) and in my opinion, if gen V was more accepted or like welcomed with open arms, Trubbish and Garbador would be the next Snolax.

(for day 17 of Sept-Ingo: Poison) read under the cut or on AO3!
Ingo could not remember what puberty had been like. He heard from others it was a miserable experience, and even the word itself made an uncomfortable feeling bloom in his chest. But he couldn’t remember what it had been like.
Something like this, perhaps.
He still didn’t know what caused his transformation into a sneasel. Why he had to become a baby sneasel was even more confounding. But Sneasler was there to coach him through it, so it hadn’t all been bad- though the teething was less than enjoyable.
Somehow this was even more infuriating.
His poison was coming in.
When he’d first been transformed, his claws had been a clean pearly white, but now they were darkening into a distinctive purple shade. Ingo wasn’t one to care much about appearances (that aspect belonged to… someone else…) and as odd as the splotchy patches of purple and ivory were, he didn’t much care.
It was the near constant discharge of poison that was the issue.
He didn’t know how to control when to release the oily substance in his claws, so it just dripped out of the tips and seeped through the tiny crack along the inside curve of them. This left puddles of the toxic substance everywhere he went- pooling on the den floor and splatting over the walls and rock faces Sneasler made him climb.
Sneasler herself had laughed at his disgruntlement, “it’s a natural part of growing!” She’d assumed him, “when I was a kit, I left puddles of poison up to my ankles.”
“That… certainly doesn’t sound pleasant…”
“No,” she agreed, “but it only took a few days for it to finally settle. You’ll learn to control it soon.”
“I hope so too,” he said, looking down at his claws, “it is a good thing I have a wonderful teacher.”
Sneasler laughed and ingo felt his lips twitch up into a sneasel grin. No- his adventures as a sneasel wasn't all bad.

Ingo is HOME!!
(aka catching up on Sept Ingo. I was so close...)
Sidenote, would you be interested in a full body drawing of Ingo sleeping with his pokemon? I wanted to draw that, but it kind of looked like a dakimakura.

(for day 12 of Sept-Ingo: Protect) read below the read more or on AO3!
Learning Pokémon moves was a difficult endeavor for any human- while everyone had the capability to do so, some were more proficient at controlled use than others. Generally, those who had a deep understanding of Pokémon and the use of the moves themselves had better chances at perfecting it.
So, using moves on the battle subway out of excitement or surprise was not unheard of- Ingo had seen many trainers accidentally set a bench on fire, emit sparks, or summon a small puddle.
While both he and Emmet prided themselves on having excellent control over their moves, sometimes even they slipped. Especially on the multi-line- it was endlessly hilarious to see his brother spark in pure indignation as Eelektross fell to Earthquake.
(As if he had any right to complain when Eelektross had gastro acid for that specific purpose.
…ignoring the fact that Haxorus was faster.)
Due to these random uses of moves and intense pokemon battles happening in the relatively cramped train, both twins had gotten incredibly apt at dodging them. It was a safety hazard that neither had manufactured a solution for, but they managed well enough.
…usually.
Dodging took a lot of concentration- spotting the attack, guessing its trajectory and moving accordingly all while continuing to keep an eye on the battle and directing their own pokemon.
Concentration like that took a lot of energy and awareness- both of which Ingo was ashamed to admit he was… lacking, at the moment. He’d had a long night of being unable to fall asleep along with a long shift with a ton of paperwork and-
He was tired. Too tired to spot the wayward Focus Blast heading straight for him in time to dodge.
Somehow, Emmet was faster.
The powerful attack dissipated harmlessly over a frantically thrown out Protect, Ingo wide-eyed behind his panting brother, thoroughly shaken.
They paused for a moment, Pokémon in the car frozen as the passengers behind them covered their mouths.
“…when did you learn Protect?” Ingo asked, voice oddly breathy.
“…” Emmet blinked, “just now, I suppose.”
Ingo laughed, and sat on the floor, still trembling slightly.
“Thanks.”
