Holy shit that was a lot of stuff in one traier. Glad we had at least two scenes with Monty! Not surprised that he’s fighting with Jasper, it’ll definitely be an interesting storyline. And he has a gun? he’s crying? I’m so stressed and excited. It looks like he has lots of stuff going on and I’m so happy about it. What she’s thinking: Monty Green is literally so precious and I’m scared what the writers will do to him in season 3, will he become distant and closed off from the guilt of hurting Jasper/helping to kill the Mt Weather people, or will he become fed up with Jasper being cold (if that’s even Jasper’s reaction, for all I know he could’ve gotten over Maya in the time jump) and just blow up at him and yell ‘I DID IT FOR YOU, ASSHOLE’ and they'llhavemakeupsexinatent whoa now I can’t stop thinking about an angrier, less innocent Monty do I want that Christopher Larkin is already so hot will I be able to handle the level of hotness that Monty would evolve to if he became even more of a sarcastic ball of sass than he already is, my heart won’t be able to handle the character development, my heart won’t be able to handle anything this season season 3 will destroy me season 3 needs to hurry up already before I spontaneously combust.

“I don’t think it’s supposed to be a shoe,” The guy beside him observed, staring at the mess that had taken over Monty’s desk.

“A teacup. I was going for a teacup,” Monty sighed, poking at the offending object with his wand. “That’s not a teacup.”

“No, it’s not,” He snorted.

“That was incredibly helpful, thanks.”

“Sorry. You’re Monty, right?” The guy asked, setting his textbooks to the side, far out of Monty’s casting range.

“If you want to buy something, you should know better than to do it within earshot of the librarian,” Monty told him, rolling his eyes and looking up at the guy for the first time. He expected it from the third years, but this guy looked too old to be a third year, maybe closer to sixth. He was actually really cute now that Monty saw him and he almost regretted his sarcastic comment.

“I’m not here to buy anything. My name’s Nathan Miller and I just thought- McGonagall said you’re good with Herbology?” He asked quietly. “Because I could use a little help and she suggested I ask you, if you weren’t too busy?”

“I’m not busy,” Monty answered, a little too quickly. “Just let me fix this,” he motioned to the shoe, which was neither a teacup nor a mouse, “mess, first.”

“I can help with that,” Miller offered. “I’m fairly decent at Transfiguration. Here, try it again and we’ll see if we can figure it out.”

Monty nodded and held his wand out, muttering the spell that should have turned the teacup, er, shoe, back into a mouse, but nothing happened. “Again. Nothing.”

“I think I know what the problem is,” Miller told him, coming closer to Monty so he was standing behind him. “Here, hold your arm out like this,” Miller straightened Monty’s arm and covered Monty’s hand with his own, “and then you flick your wrist like that and say the spell.”

Monty followed Miller’s instructions, almost mispronouncing the spell because Miller was so close and he was getting a little flustered, but he managed to do it right and the shoe turned back into a mouse that gave a pathetic squeak before scampering off to safety. “Thanks.”

“No problem,” Miller told him, looking down at him, a faint blush on his cheeks. “You just need a little practice and you should be good.”

“How about I help you with Herbology and you help me with Transfiguration?”

“Yeah, I think that might work,” Miller smiled, a faint blush rising on his cheeks when he realized he hadn’t yet moved away from Monty and only intensifying when he realized he didn’t really want to.
