Hi, do you have a progress update on the demo?

Hello! I wanted to use this ask to announce the demo, but not everything (again) went as I wanted, so here I am with something else instead!

I know I've said I would publish the demo even if it wasn't 100% ready, as I wanted it to be, but I'm a perfectionist and, if it is for me, I would wait until I've done the template and functions I want to add to it before publishing it, but I decide to make a poll to see if you would prefer to read it as soon as possible or if you are happy to wait the extra time!

If you want it sooner I would release the demo in two weeks (or less), using this template for now, updating it as soon as I have done the template and everything else;

If you want to wait it'll take more (a month or so) but it will be with the template I wanted to make and additional things;

In the meantime, I'll try to be more active here on Tumblr! I will finally answer the asks in my inbox as promised and sorry again for my absence here, but I had some problems to deal with, that kept me from being more present here!

Out of curiosity why is Maribel not a RO?

What are the tropes for the ROs?

I had to think about this for quite a long time because I don't have really set some fixed tropes for the routes and characters, but if I have to give some they would be mostly: Friends to strangers to friends and/or lovers; Childhood friends; Second chance; "Forbidden love"; Dark secret; Emotional scars; Different worlds; Best friend’s ex; Matchmaker; Love/hate; Star-crossed lovers/Soulmates and more! I know it's very vague, but it is for a reason!

I will probably get back to this once we're deeper with the story! (and it'll be more specific to each character)

Hello everyone! Sorry for being MIA these past weeks, but July has been quite busy!

Remember when I said "If everything goes well, I should be able to release the Demo at the end of July"? Yeah, not everything went well, but!

I've come to a decision in regards to Moonflower, because I want to show you more of the story and characters.

This month I've been working on a customized template and I've been trying to work on some technical aspects of the IF and story. I'm hoping to have everything figured out soon. Still, if this doesn't happen in the time limit I've given myself I decided to use a pre-existing template, publishing the demo without some aspects and story parts, so that you can at least see a little more about Moonflower.

I won't say when I will be able to post the first draft of the demo (I've seen how it went the last time I put out the ideal date haha) but I'm hoping it to be soon!

In summary: If I manage to do everything I want within the time limit, you'll have the custom template and the whole first chapter with all its aspects, if I'm not able to do so, you'll still get some salient parts of the first chapter and a later update once I've finalized everything else. Thank you for your patience and interest! These next days I'll answer all the asks I've received, and sorry for being late in my response!

MINI UPDATE ON MOONFLOWER IF

Hi everyone! Here's the first (mini) update on Moonflower! It's nothing much, but it's still something I would like to share with you all!

If everything goes well, I should be able to release the Demo at the end of July (I will give a date when we'll get close to it).

I will give more info about what you'll be able to play in it once I'm 100% sure on what will stay or not, so stay tuned!

💋 (kiss) - Is your oc a good kisser? Have they kissed anyone before? Do they even enjoy kissing? What was their first kiss like in comparison to their most recent?

Are they a good kisser?

Ashton, Lucrèce, Marilyn are sure of it (they will not believe otherwise, or they'll be baffled by someone saying they are bad kissers)

Hazel does believe she's good, but each kiss is/can be different, so not every kiss will be perfect or okay

Zane will say they never heard someone lament on their technique and doesn't believe they're a bad kisser. If you want to try and see for yourself they will be more than ok to demonstrate, ahaha.

Have they kissed anyone before, do they enjoy kissing?

Ashton has kissed many times and different people (most for his acting jobs) and he usually enjoys kissing (sometimes he doesn't enjoy it with some colleagues for work), but would prefer it more if it was with someone he has feelings for.

Lucrèce? Of course he's kissed many people! And he enjoyed every single one! Or so he would like to say. In truth, he doesn't usually kiss or like to kiss his occasional partners, the ones he doesn't know or feel anything for. So, technically, he enjoys kissing, but it has to be with the right person or in the right moment/mood.

Hazel has kissed before, but not many times. Her first kiss was with Lucrèce and after their breakup, she has kissed just a handful of people (two or three), never finding the right one/feeling for it.

Zane has kissed before, and they quite enjoy doing so. Strangely enough, they don't really need a real connection with their partner to enjoy the kiss. What matters to them is the atmosphere and that everything feels fine.

Marilyn loves to kiss. Sometimes it feels like she needs to kiss someone to feel something or to silence the turmoil she feels inside. What turns her away from kissing is usually if her partners do something that snaps her out of any type of interest she felt before.

What was their first kiss like in comparison to their most recent?

For Ashton… it depends on who was his first kiss. Depending on this, his last kiss could've been more eventful or not compared to his first.

For Lucrèce his first kiss happened almost because he felt like he had to, it's something he doesn't think about. His last kiss… it depends, maybe for him is just as bland as his first one or not.

For Hazel, her first kiss might not have been perfect, but it overshines by far her most recent one, which she would like to forget.

Zane's first kiss to them is just as good, if not more than their most recent one. It's something they likely won't forget any time soon. (Not much for their partner, but more for the act itself)

For Marilyn it's quite easy to decide: she hates her first kiss, how it happened, and with whom, so every kiss after that is better than it.

This is the general line, but it's not a deal or break for any of them, it all depends on how it's the relationship and how they will come to feel about these matters in the end.

For example: Lucrèce likes/doesn't hate children, but he's unsure/doesn't want to be a father (because he thinks he won't be a good one), but could grow to see that he likes the idea (he can be a good father), and so will become positive at the prospective to have children.

💗 GROWING HEART - if they have a crush, is it noticable? what changes when they’re in love?

At the moment, in the situation inside the story, they're like this:

Ashton, Lucrèce and Marilyn will do their best to NOT show they have a crush.

Hazel and Zane will try to not show they have a crush, failing mostly, but they will still try.

Once they're all in love, things will change, they will all be more open about it, especially if they know they are reciprocated.

Maybe Ashton and Lucrèce will still be the more reticent about showing/telling their feelings.

Crushing stage!!

Here are the reactions of the ROs about the "bug bites, hickeys in disguise" with two different scenarios! I hope it was what you asked! (If not, let me know, and I'll answer the question again!)

During the crushing stage, they didn't give any hickeys to MC, but they saw the "bug bite":

Ashton: An irk flashes inside him, a frown on his face. "It's a bug bite", MC says, and he wants to believe them (not that it matters to him), still he's tempted to brush lightly over the bite with his fingertips "Let me see, I wouldn't like you to get a reaction because of it". If it's just a real bug bite he will smile softly, giving MC something for the swelling. If not… jealousy will simmer in his blood, and he'll probably mutter something like "A bug bite, huh?" He would still give something to MC because he wants it gone (even though he shouldn't care, he doesn't actually, you know, not at all)

Lucrèce: A raised eyebrow, a smirk giving away on his lips "A bug bite?" he would say, coming closer to MC to see this supposed bug bite, he for sure has seen many of it. If it's actually a bug bite, all is good, he will chuckle and say to MC to go to Hazel if the irritation or swelling grows because of it. If he sees it's not, cold will wash away any warmth in his smile and face, "Really? I'm curious to see what insect leaves this kind of bite" a sarcastic remark, to hide the hurt inside (that he should not feel, he's supposed to not feel anything at all for them)

Hazel: Wide eyes, a preoccupied expression, because she's actually worried: certain bug bites could be dangerous or chafing, and it's better to deal with them immediately. If it's really some bug bite, she will quickly deal with it, chatting with a smile over some childhood memories about MC getting in trouble or where a similar occasion occurred. If not, she will freeze momentarily, her worries turning into something colder and darker. She will give MC a cream to deal with the bruise, remarking on how they should be more careful and "I thought you could tell me everything, I guess this changed too" (why does she feel so bitter? She knows she has no right, but still… it hurts)

Zane: Pinched expression, worry and doubt mixed in it, because it doesn't seem like a bug bite (MC said it is, they should believe and not question them) but if it is, it's better to ask Hazel or Ashton to analyze it and give something to MC. If it is, Zee will smile brightly, if it's not serious, feeling relieved and a little guilty about the doubt they felt toward MC. (why? It's not their place) They'll then search for what food or treatment is good for dealing with it, and what bug leaves that certain type of bite, so they'll be ready next time. If it is not… the insecurities and doubt will only grow. Why did they lie? Who did it? Do they truly not matter anymore to MC? No, it's not Zane's business: they should NOT feel bitter toward MC. So they'll try to ignore it (both the lie & hickey) and not say anything at all (even though they want, they should, they… care)

Marilyn: Curiosity, a teasing smile growing on what she thinks is MC's clear lie. "A bug's bite? What's their name? Because they did a horrible job, let me tell you" a laugh to ignore the hurt she feels deep inside. Once she finds out it was really a bug's bite, she'll apologize to MC, feeling remorseful for her hasty comment. She'll try to make some light jokes about the whole ordeal, to make both feel better. But if it wasn't all along, she will keep pushing her light humor and teasing "Change partner next time, that thing is hideous MC" (It should have been me, why it wasn't me? Why I'm thinking this? I don't feel anything for MC… right?)

During the crushing stage, where they are the ones responsible for MC's "bug bite":

Ashton: Each time his eyes fall on it, he feels like smiling, but instead, he frowns: Why did he leave a hickey on MC? He shouldn't have, they… they're nothing. They're not even friends anymore. Still, when he hears MC say it's just a bug bite he's torn between snorting or saying it was him the one who left that mark on them.

Lucrèce: Each time his eyes fall on it, he feels smug and… satisfied. He usually doesn't leave any marks on his one-night stand partners, but with MC… he doesn't know why he did it, but he sure feels complacent when he hears MC say it's just a bug bite. They both know it's not.

Hazel: Each time her eyes fall on it, she blushes, averting her eyes from the hickey she left. Why did she do it? MC is not hers, they're not a couple, she… oh, my: she does have a crush on them, doesn't she? Hearing MC say it's a bug bite irks her, but at the same time, she's relieved by the lie, leaving her with a faint blush and a soft smile. They know the truth. For now, that's enough.

Zane: Each time their eyes fall on it, they smile with a faint blush or fake cough and look away or up, trying not to think about the hickey visible on MC. The one they left and oh, they can't seem to stop thinking about it, about that moment they shared. Hearing MC say it's a bug bite makes them giggle softly, trying to act as if nothing is wrong and to get away the attention from it. They do feel very bashful inside.

Marilyn: Each time her eyes fall on it, she avoids immediately eye contact with everyone. Especially MC, because she can't believe she did that. She doesn't ever do something like this, not even with her ex-partners, but with MC, in that moment… she wanted to leave a mark on them. To let everyone know of her feelings. Now she regrets it. Because she doesn't have feelings for them. Nope, not at all. Hearing MC say it's a bug bite leaves her with a bitter taste in her mouth because it's not just a bug bite, but she ignores it and makes some jokes or light remarks about it.

I do think that Ashton, Lucrèce, Marilyn would say something like "I wonder who was the bug that bit you MC…", just to see their reaction, ahaha.

Ashton: Not really, but you never know (he tends to say it isn't quite a first sight, maybe at the second or third one...)

Zane, Hazel: yes, they are quite romantic

And for what traits do they look for in a relationship... mhm, it depends, but mostly these:

Ashton: a relationship based on acceptance and understanding the other

Lucrèce: a relationship based on seeing each other as they truly are, with no need to lie or to put up appearances

Hazel: a relationship where time is essential and where love is shown and felt

Zane: a relationship where even in silence there is comfort

Marilyn: a relationship based on trust and where each other tries to enjoy the time they can get together

From best at fixing relationships to worst, I would put them like this: Zee/Hazel Marilyn Ashton Lucrèce

In the past, Zee and Hazel were the ones who were good at fixing things, and they try to do so even now in some ways. Marilyn is a mix of avoidance and "not good, but I'm trying", it all depends. Ashton and Lucrèce are the ones who really like to avoid everything if they can (could they improve? Yes, and maybe they're already doing so… who knows)

Hi, could you tell us more about MC’s past friendship with Ashton? Like how did they meet, where did they hang out/what did they do together, when did they start drifting away, etc.

Hi! Thank you for this ask and sorry for the late reply!

MC and Ashton met during the summer before their first year of middle school, thanks to MC's uncle, finding out later that they were going to the same school/classroom. MC and Ashton could've been in the same clubroom (theater & book club) or spending their time together during lunch, walking home/to school (or with Ashton giving a ride with his bicycle), or at each other's house. Or all of these things together. One instance is that Ashton, for many years, had his ringtone for MC's calls/messages be something MC had sung/said or their favorite song/music. When did they begin to drift apart? It started in their early 20s to a slow breaking point in their late 20s. The reason? Different ones, but only one was the true catalyst.

With this one I decided to show how they all feel about their "group of friends" (without MC, for the moment)

Ashton doesn't like (hate) Lucrèce, he can't stand him; He likes and is very close with Zee, Hazel, and Maribel (with whom he's doting/affectionate); He's more neutral with Marilyn, seeing her more as a colleague, but he still considers her a friend, just not a close one;

Lucrèce doesn't like (hate) Ashton, and as seen before, the feeling is reciprocated; He doesn't like Zane too, and he prefers to act as if they don't exist; He still loves/cares about Hazel, but he tries not to show it (too much); He likes and is close to Marilyn, who he considers as an actual friend; He's more neutral with Maribel, he mostly likes to annoy her, and he does kind of see her as a… "friend";

Hazel loves, cares, and sees them all as her friends. Even Lucrèce, against her best judgment. She feels quite bitter every time she sees him, but she tries to ignore it;

Zane can't stand Lucrèce, and they try to ignore him as much as they can; They like and are very close to Ashton, Hazel, Marilyn, and Maribel; They wish Marilyn would not be so close to Lucrèce;
