Yes, I completely agree about the Alicent/pedestal thing especially after what the actor said in that promo about Criston being loyal to Alicent and wanting what she wants.

And is it any surprise? She saw him at the lowest point a person could go: about to commit suicide.

And he stopped himself, for whatever reason, she gave him pause to stop and think and put down the knife.

I think, to Criston, Alicent has the respect and kindness and consideration for him that he thought Rhaenyra had for him. I think Criston is very likely in love with Alicent and she certainly feels much more comfortable and safe with him than Larys but who knows if it’s romantic love on her end.

(Also, did y’all see how sour Cristons face went when Viserys called Alicent “Aemma”? He was so  offended on her behalf)

This guy, who came from little and worked his ass off to become a White Cloak was angry and hurt that his honour was shredded by someone who cared so little about it. About him.

Were the roles reversed, Rhaenyra the man and Criston the woman, no one would say Criston was a man hating bitch.

All in all, Criston isn’t a woman hater. He’s a Rhaenyra hater.

What is going on in viserys mind? His young child bride is literally laying there, staring at the ceiling, waiting for him to be done with her, how can he not think of himself as a monster? Like how do you not see that that’s a sexual assault? How does he live with himself? How does he look himself in the mirror?

He doesn’t value Alicent even as a human being, he doesn’t have compassion for her. He doesn’t have any kind of respect. I swear he doesn’t even see her as a person. And so he doesn’t care that he’s hurting her. I know he’s a fictional character, but I wish that son of a bitch had suffered much more than he actually did.

John Murphy was blamed and shunned by Clarke (thereby, all of the Delinquents) for Finn’s actions, and when Lexa died, he made no snide remarks and gave her space as she mourned. He also tried to get her out of Polis and to safety, only to be left once again.  

John Murphy was nearly shot to death by Raven, and even though she mocked him for the pain and guilt of his mother and father’s deaths, he still tried to help her as she lay dying. 

John Murphy accepted Emori as she was when anyone else would have recoiled in disgust, just because she was nice to him. 

John Murphy tried to save Titus from Roan, and did convince him and Ontari to spare him before Titus killed himself. 

John Murphy knew holding a village at gunpoint was wrong, and tried to talk Finn back from the edge before he did something he knew he’d regret. 

John Murphy has done awful things out of anger and spite, but others have done worse things “for my people”.  He’s not 100% a dick.
