Remember how Jax mentioned his mother when he shot Gangle? Well my theory is: Jax was close with his mother and his father was abusive and one day a wild animal broke into the farm and Jax tried to save her with a gun but the creature moved away and he ended up shooting his mother. Jax tried to save her but he couldn’t and the reason why he’s afraid of corn is because when his father found out what happened he would leave Jax in a corn field to die as a reminder of his mother’s death due to the fact that his mother still was holding a corn when she died. And Jax ran away from his father one day when he was ten years old and found a headset in an old pawn shop he found comfort in and that’s when he tried it on and there he met Ragatha and Kaufmo (plus the others that were there at the time)
