What Heathenry actually is: Constant vigilance. A game of “spot the racist”. A mountain of unread books. Arguments. Discussions regarding which deity is gayest. Everything eventually becoming a conversation about Odin. “I started with one deity and now there are twelve help???”

People always complain about how in Tolkien’s works every character has like four names (LOOKING AT YOU SILMARILLIAON) but once you remember Tolkien was one of THE authorities on Norse myth it all makes sense because I don’t think there’s a single god in the Norse pantheon with less than five names, and then you have Odin, who has so many that we don’t even know all of them and who honestly skews the bell curve for name collection right off the goddamn scale

Odin, Norse god of poetry, war, and wisdom. There were some interesting crow/raven synchronicities that occurred when I first decided to start this drawing… I took it as a sign that I was taking a step in the right direction!

Can we not argue over the sexualities of the gods? If you see Artemis as ace, cool, but don’t hate on people who see her as a lesbian and vice-versa. The gods are beyond human comprehension.
