⭐ Inner Child Magic ⭐
Tumblr media
Connecting to your inner child is a great way to bring curiosity, simple joy and innocence into your life. Here is a simple spell I like to do when things feel overwhelming and I forget who I used to be…
–
You will need
Pen and paper
A blue candle
An object from your childhood
Inner child spell
⭐ Find a peaceful and quiet space to perform the spell. Light the blue candle. Blue is associated with happiness, laughter, innocence and childhood.
⭐ Spend a few minutes looking at the object you brought - it could be anything ; a cuddly toy you used to love, letters from family members, jewellery you received as a child, etc. How does it make you feel? Can you remember the child you used to be?
⭐ On the paper, make a list of things that made you happy as a child. What food did you like? What movie did you love so much that you watched it on repeat? What songs did you sing to yourself in your bedroom? What activity were you always up for? What book did you read under your covers at night, while pretending to sleep?
⭐ Read through the list again. Highlight all the things you can still enjoy today.
⭐ Close your eyes and visualize yourself as a child. Send love, compassion and empathy towards this version of yourself. Make a promise to your inner child that you will not forget the things you used to love.

Shadow Work Prompts 1
1. what emotion do you try to avoid (e.g. anger, sadness, jealousy...)? what makes you afraid to feel it? what are you afraid will happen if you feel it?
2. in what ways are you priviliged? what do you take for granted?
3. pick an adjective from the list below that would trigger you if someone would use it to desscribe you and then ask yourself: "why would this trigger me? what would be bad about it being true? is it the accuracy or inaccuracy that bothers me? what could be a positive aspect to being that way?"
list: arrogant, lier, jealous, mean, cruel, possessive, bitchy, bossy, loser, greedy, mysterious, sneaky, codependent, sick, fat, disgusting, stalker, stupid, idiot, fearful, unconscious, masochistic, narcissist, insignificant, frigid, sexist, manipulative, racist, victim, egositic, arrogant, ugly, careless, passive, aggressive, lame, boring, tactless, irresponsible, incompetent, lazy, unfair, childish, know-it-all, insensitive, psychotic, sad, ordinary, hypocritical, reproachful, gloomy, jealous, envious dirty, tyrannical, inflexible, heartless, resentful, dominant, bad, ignorant, uneducated, tasteless, insecure, depressed, hopeless, not good enough, cry baby, paranoid, pushy, stubborn, inferior, weak , impatient, unreliable, self-destructive, over-sensitive
4. what is the biggest promise you made to yourself that you have broken? how does that make you feel?
5. how do you lie to yourself in daily life? what are you trying to avoid?
6. what do you think is your worst trait? why is it "bad"? what positive aspects does this trait bring with it?
7. if you truly loved yourself, what would your life look like? is it very different to how it actually is? and if yes, why?
8. think of a time someone broke your heart. could you have been responsible in some way as well?
9. do you hold grudges against someone? if so, why are you not letting them go yet?
10. what do you need to forgive yourself for?
11. think back on the last time a person triggered you: can you see how the aspects of that person that triggered you are also in you?
12. ask yourself: "if... were true about me/my current life situation, i'd be terrified" (try to fill out this sentence as often as possible)
13. think back on your last argument/fight: did you actively try to see the other person's viewpoint and would there have been a way to be more compassionate with the other person and yourself?
14. think about a time in your childhood when you felt unhappy (small or big moment) and write a letter from your child self to the present you about how you felt and how you perceived the situation: try to take on that child as much as you can and write from its perspective as automatically as you can then write a letter back to that child, explaining the situation, showing empathy and understanding and asking how you can help now or which needs have to be met for that child to feel good again if you get answres from that child, then try to meet those needs today
15. In what areas of life are you holding back and playing small? (Think about the times you feel weak, small or disempowered.) Write them below and next to each explore why
16. In what ways do you feel judged by others? Write them below. Explore how many of these judgments might actually originate within you first (and are displaced onto others)
17. What negatives or positives do others point out about you that you have trouble accepting?
18. What emotions do you rarely express around others – and when did you first start hiding these emotions from others? (Emotional suppression and repression often point to areas of shame buried within you.)
19. Reflect on a period of life where you were at your worst (i.e. most selfdestructive, argumentative, etc.). Write a short, but heartfelt letter of understanding, acceptance, and compassion for that version of you. You can return to this letter later whenever you feel rotten about yourself.
20. What are your “hot buttons” or triggers that cause you to get angry or defensive in the presence of others?

This is amazing. I had just gotten the question a couple days ago on how to be discreet at home for magic and all I had was meditating and energy work!! Thank you!!
Do you have any tips for a beginner witch that needs to be as discreet as possible? ;-;
Energy work is literally as discreet as it gets. No one else can see any signs that you are practicing magic - it’s all visualization and sometimes sensation. I have an [energy work masterpost] that might prove beneficial - some of the links are dead, but I plan to do something about that today and update it for this blog.
One of the best parts of energy work is enchanting stuff - you can put magic and energy into any item you already own and make it into a spell! Enchanting jewelry is pretty awesome for this, and I do it very often myself. But, seriously, you can enchant soaps / shampoos / body washes as cleansers, you can enchant the food and beverages you drink for healing or strength or protection… Seriously, enchanting.
Meditation kind of goes hand in hand with energy work. It allows one to get in a specific mindset that can be beneficial for magic. Not to mention how relaxing it is - it can be super useful for helping one ground / discharge excess energy.
Sigils are also pretty discreet - you can keep them in a sketchbook and just call them doodles. You can also save them to your cell phone and hide them in a folder. I have a [sigil FAQ masterpost] that talks a lot about sigils, what they are, what they can and can’t do, as well as provides lots of links for creating and charging sigils. [sigilscribe.me] is an awesome website that generates sigils for you, if you find you’re not good at it yourself, and you can just screenshot them and save them to your phone. Sigils!
Candles and incense are pretty discreet, if you are allowed to have fire and smoke in your area. Claim to use them as air fresheners of sort, to make your room smell better. Here is a [candle spell template] and some tips for [selecting and preparing a candle for spell work].
Honestly, phones are awesome for discreet magic. There are apps to make sigils, apps for spells, digital candle apps - even divination apps! You can have hidden folders that contain spells for a secret grimoire / Book of Shadows (Tumblr is awesome for that too, as well as Google Docs).
Using the herbs and spices that you already have in your kitchen is useful. Also, I saw another post mention disguising an interest in herbs with an interest in cooking - if you can or want to, that is. So yeah, kitchen magic can be hidden pretty easily too.
[Tea magic]! I almost forgot this one! Just develop a sudden love for drinking tea. There are so many different kinds of teas that can be charged for so many intents.
Bath magic is pretty low-key too. Again, you can enchant the soaps and stuff you already have, or you can get some basic supplies for baths. Epsom salts are pretty cheap, and super cleansing as well. I have a huge bag of lavender Epsom salts at home, oh, so good. You can also enchant bath bombs!
[Knot magic] is awesome and secret-ish. Weave and braid strings together with colors matching your intent, infusing your energies into it as you do so, and boom - wearable magic. You can give them to friends and family too, and add things like beads and charms to boost imagery and intent.
Pressing flower petals and storing them for later is pretty mundane in appearance, and can also be labelled as a “they smell nice” thing.
Crystals can be for aesthetic, because they look nice - same with any sort of rocks you find outside that you may want to use in magic. No one necessarily has to know or suspect that they are used in magic.
If you want to do more divination… A deck of regular playing cards can be used to do readings with - it’s called [cartomancy]. You can [make your own pendulum]. You can try [shufflemancy] or [stichomancy] too. Computer or phone screens that are shut off can be used as scrying / black mirrors.
You can practice outside, when the weather is nice, and if you happen to have any ideal locations nearby. (There’s a few forests within a half hour’s walk in my city, for example.)
If you wear makeup, you can turn your daily “getting ready” ritual into setting up glamours on yourself. Some posts on [makeup magic] and [cosmetics and glamour].
That’s what I was able to come up with, I hope it’s useful to you! Here are some further links that may have more information:
