And if that’s your preferred ship for whatever reason, that’s fine. It’s a fantasy MMO you’re allowed to have whatever pairing you want. All I’m asking is that you are respectful of my own in return. I’m not heacanoning Anduin as gay just because I wish for more diverity in Warcraft, although I admit that is part of it. Mostly though, I find the dynamic it brings up to be legitimately compelling. This prodigal son of Stormwind, trying to live up to his father’s legacy - and constantly falling short. Maybe he does try to court Tess/Taelia out of obligation, trying his hardest to make it work. But it doesn’t. It’s not who he is. 

And all the while there’s Wratheon, brother of the woman who played him as a puppet to try and rule the throne all those years ago. Son of the monster who burnt down a section of your city and attempted to destroy Azeroth. A reptile proven to be manipulative and focused on his own goals which could very well be antithetical to those of the Alliance. And yet, there’s a connection there that isn’t with anyone else. Around this black dragon, Anduin feels more free to be the man he is, rather than the man everyone expects him to be. But is that mutual? Or is he just another pawn in the game Wratheon is playing? And what about the future of Stormwind? Of his bloodline?

That’s not to say there aren’t just as many compelling stories to find with a straight Anduin either. Or a bi, ace or pan-duin. He’s a great character placed into an interesting setting with a lot of potential. Maybe he’s saved from an ambush by Tess and the two an exciting adventure narrowly avoiding one threat on his life after another, where he finds out that the daughter of his fluffy advisor isn’t the sweet girl Genn makes her out to be. Or speaking of old hurts and family life with Taelia, sharing in comforting memories of a man who’s not quite as gone as they think he is. I’d read those and enjoy them. ((Not sure I’d read anything unironic about Anduin x Sylvanas though - but a self-aware shitpost fic would be hilarious))

But I’m always gonna keep Wratheon x Anduin close to my heart. It’s the story I peronally want to do more with. And, well, I just find the pair to be cute together. And I like the message that a gay King of Stormwind sends out. If that’s not your thing, that’s fine. But please don’t belittle me or my opinions, or assume I’m just hopping on some trend for the sake of being trendy.

Sorry to say it dude, but Wratheon is a shit and that is exactly why I ship him with Anduin. It’s a fun dynamic to play with as they each try to change the viewpoint of the other. My King of Stormwind shops at bad dragon is all I’m sayin’

BONNETHEAD IS AN OMNIVORE SHARK, RESEARCHERS FOUND

What an animal consumes and what an animal digests and assimilates for energetic demands are not always synonymous. Sharks, accepted as carnivores, have guts that are presumed to be well suited for a high-protein diet. However, the bonnethead shark (Sphyrna tiburo), an abundant shark commonly found in seagrass habitats, has been previously shown to consume copious amounts of seagrass, flowering marine plant that forms subsea meadows in some coastal waters in the Gulf of Mexico, as in other parts of the world. And now, is considered the first known plant-eating shark. The finding were published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society.

The bonnethead shark is an abundant shark species in shallow waters of the Eastern Pacific, the Western Atlantic, and the Gulf of Mexico, where they feed on seagrass and small crustaceans, snails and other fishes, and according to researchers, in natural conditions, up to 62.1% of gut content mass is seagrass. Because a large percentage of the diet is seagrass, conserving seagrass beds is vital to the hammerhead shark family and other marine life.

I can’t explain why I made these beyond “morbid need” 

But here you go, the movement of the Earth’s continents from the beginning of the Cambrian 541 million years ago until today. Two versions: decent resolution slow, and low res ridiculous fast. I like watching the second one because it makes the continents look like silly putty.

So over the last few days I’ve sat down and forced myself to doodle in an attempt to encourage myself to be creative and well encourage a dead dream of “trying” to be an artist. So since most of my downtime is me desperately trying to keep up with dailies on Rak he sorta became my muse.

He’s gone through a lot of changes since the race change, going from forsaken to blood elf…and with it I realized I’d have to develop a new story for him….and I was musing on such as I was sketching him. Ironically I drew him rather….rugged and rough. Quite uncivilized to most if not all his kin and well he honestly looks like he should be a Night Elf.

So I began to question why is he so rugged and uncivilized? And I began to muse on perhaps his Father was an ambassador to Orgrimar. Perhaps he had his wife and son accompany him and perhaps something happened to his parents. Since he was but a child …perhaps an honorable Orc who knew his father took him under his wing and trained him in the ways of the hunter?

As he grew and traveled I could see him learning from other races and hunters to help him not only to survive but become a more skilled hunter. The Vykrul perhaps and earning his tattoos showing off a kill of a scourge dragon? Perhaps he hunted with the trolls of Zandalar and learned to harvest the tough hides of the dinosaurs? And so on.

He’d grow up with a fierce independence and spending much of his days alone aside from his animals which he’d love as if they were his own brother or sister much like an Orc with their worg. He actually probably holds animals in higher regard then most humanoids especially since they keep starting stupid wars and unfortunately dragging him into them lol.

So yeah first page was the first couple of days…I was rather grumpy and Rak wound up being grumpy in turn. The second one was him getting a rude wake up call from his beloved Worm wiggles. Nothing like getting woken up to a massive, heavy drooling worm who wants scritches NOW. And then the last one is Rak with his beloved bear Baldric.

So yeah four days of silly doodles.

Lei’lakka was born in the depths of Stranglethorn Vale; pale, weakly and sick. She was part of a small, nomadic group of Gurubashi with little in the way of resources. Their witch doctor could not use normal magics to keep her alive, but could perhaps offer her to a loa in return for her future service. With little other option, her parents agreed. So she was given to Shirvallah, the tiger. In his eyes, her strange fur marked her as unique - a ghost of the jungles, not unlike some of his own children. When she was of age, she was sent to train with his priests, but found herself more skilled at shapeshifting than singing hymns. When Hakkar was resurrected, she joined the Zandalari (and the horde and alliance) in opposing him. After the blood god lay dead, she decided to leave with the scaled trolls to their homeland to better master her shapeshifting powers. While she was a quick student of Gonk’s lessons, Shirvallah made sure she remembered which loa she was bound to serve by leaving stripes on all of her forms. Now, as an experienced and formidable servant of her loa, she finds herself in the middle of conflict yet again. Not only do Zul’s followers seek to kill the loa and take their powers for themselves, but the Horde seek to enlist anyone willing to fight in their war. While she is impressed with their strength, she finds herself cautious as to their motives. When she sees what their warchief is willing to do to insure victory, Lei’lakka cannot help but think of the blood god atop of Zul’gurub. She fights beside them for now - and has even been enjoying seeing this mottled group of orcs, elves and pandaren take down enemies that the mighty Zandalari empire has struggled with. But she has yet to be convinced to join the horde proper.

__ I did a bad and decided to draw some comfort art of my troll lady. I race changed my tauren druid after feeling a bit disconnected with him and I think I love my new girl a lot????? Like she’s my new main at this point for sure. Gonna be drawing up her other forms for sure, with her troll self up next. I jsut caved and went deep into my comfort zone first because heck yes I want to draw up a tusked badass tiger.

If you ever see Leilakka from Wyrmrest Accord running about, feel free to say hi because I am jumping at the chance to do more with her, and smooth out some of the rough edges of her backstory and character design. Regardless, expect more of her for sure.
