• The Pins of Lane • Every day is the same, As I stand in the lane, You can see it’s all plain, And frankly, quite lame. • I came to this place, Designed like deep space, To escape from the race, And disappear with no trace. • But now once a minute, A ball with spin to it, Comes right at my head, Filling me with dread. • I lean to the right With all of my might, Closing my eyes tight, While I shake out of fright. • But without fail, Since I cannot bail, All I can do is frail, As I begin to sail. • I first hit the ball, Then right into the wall, Like a thrown rag doll, I then start to fall. • I try to get stand, But that’s not the plan, As I’m swept in a pan, And reset by a man. • And all I can do is sit, At the end of this pit, Wobbling just a bit, Waiting for the next hit. • But the truth you might find, To be with these nine, We’re of the same kind, And our friendships divine. • We laugh and we play, As we sit there all day, We’re all best friends, Best friends ‘til the end. • And that ball that comes down, Is the sweetest around, That’s my girlfriend Ms. Brown, She’s so pretty and round. • We might not like this job, Especially mean ole’ Bob, But it’s worth all of this, Cuz to me this is bliss.
