Solution for my acne x whitehead troubled skin

Hi All!

I have been struggling with acne and whitehead for this past year and I think (hopefully it won’t jinx it) it will end soon!

My skin (originally) is very dry and I only have an occasional acne once or twice in like 3 months but (I don’t know why) maybe due to late puberty or some visit to the wrong doctor it just have been really bad this past year and it is FRUSTRATING. I have a new acne literally once a week and it’s not even the usual acne where it will turn white in week but it is the most annoying one that just wont budge for months. I have been getting facial once a month (sometimes twice, its that BAD) and I have been using medicated and non-medicated skincare religiously. SADLY, I don’t feel like its getting better at all. Yes, the acne and the super annoying whiteheads disappear after facial but it came back in a week. FINALLY, I found the ultimate solution for my very troubled skin, which is.....JAPANESE SKINCARE. I will list the products that I use before and how I feel towards the products and then I’ll list the Japanese products that have saved my face from a life-long misery.

Products that doesn’t work (on my skin, this is very important what works and what doesn’t work for me maybe works for you):

1. Belif peat miracle revital serum

Now I know that this serum is not a solution for acne and whitehead troubled skin, but I was hoping that this serum will cure the dryness on my skin while not giving me any added trouble. I use this serum in the beginning of my journey when my skin is still dry and the whitehead is not that bad yet. Yes, this serum helps with dryness, but it makes my acne WORSE and whiteheads on my skin somehow turns into this thing that is not an acne but is not a whitehead (trust me I’m trying to explain this better but I don’t know what it was). Anyway, I stopped using this product after 3 months.

2. Paula’s choice skin perfecting 2% BHA liquid exfoliant

Sephora described this product as “gentle, non-abrasive, leave-on exfoliant rapidly unclogs pores, diminishes the appearance of wrinkles, and improves skin tone for unbelievably smooth, radiant, firmer”. I have seen a lot of positive reviews about the product where it diminish big pores and helps with skin texture and blackheads, thus I bought it. From my personal experience, this exfoliant is really sticky and it makes my acne worse if I use it in my morning routine. So I only use this product at night with cotton pads, just like anybody else. But this product just doesn’t work with my skin. It’s sticky, do nothing on my pores, doesn’t help with my whiteheads, and I don’t really notice anything with my blackheads. I stopped using this product after 8 months trying to make it work.

3. Bravura salicylic acid

After paula’s choice exfoliant has failed me, I am in a hunt to find the perfect exfoliant for my skin. The salicylic acid did make some of my acne turns white in 4-5 days-ish but I feel like it really irritates my skin and makes it red and angry and I feel like it triggers acne to pop up from my skin. Even though it is a pretty good product, I feel like if I don’t neutralize my skin well after using it, it will be a double ended sword and definitely makes my skin worse. I am still using the product up till now very cautiously. What I usually do is to wash my face after putting it on my skin for 30 mins and moisturize my skin with sheet mask afterwards.

4. Kiehls calendula foaming wash

I don’t know what is wrong with this facial was but it doesn’t do anything to my skin at all and my new facial was really just makes all the weird bumps on my skin disappear so I believe that something is weird with this product....

The now routine that works!

1. Perfect whip facial wash

I thought that I bought the wrong product since it turns out that the perfect whip facial wash that everybody’s talking about is the shisheido one... But it is working for me guys!! As what I said this facial wash makes all the weird bumps disappear and it really helps with my whitehead. 

2. One step pimple pads by cosrx

I have been using this product for awhile but I can’t really see the difference that this product give to my skin. But after I changed my facial wash this product has work to its maximum potential! It really helps me to exfoliate my skin.

 3. Bravura glycolic acid

Of course after the acnes are gone, come the days where they left their marks on my skin. This products smells quite good (for me) and I do feel like it somehow fades the scars away. I have been using this products for (approximately) 5 months.

4.Pixi glow toner

This product compliments the bravura peel really well. Other than fading acne scar I do feel like this toner helps with my acne (somehow). It does stings a little bit when you put it on but I feel like its doing its jobs because of that (haha I know, I am the victim of beauty hurts statement).

5. Gyokujyun premium by hada labo

This is product is the bomb! I feel like it moisturize my skin and makes it soft and smooth. I just love this product. 

6. Belif aqua bomb moisturizer

This moisturizer is EVERYTHING. It feels really light, moisturize and calm the skin. My mom even tried to snatch it from me :”D

7. Babyish sheet mask

I think this mask contributes the most to the disappearance of my whiteheads. I notice that my skin feels really smooth after I put this on. Mine is the yellow one :)

That is all guys! I will update if I found another products that works better and can finally bring back my glory days where my face is spotless and fab...

A trip to Japan

Hi all!

Today, I’ll be sharing the highlights of my trip to Japan earlier this month (I’m sure you don’t want to hear me talking about the little fights I had with my family) (it was a mess) (btw). Anyway, these are it !

1. Elephant Factory Coffee, Kyoto

This cafe WOWed me, I have no negative opinion about this place. It was quite small and the waitress told us that their customer usually stay for 40-45 minutes ish so the chances of you not getting seat is quite big. Be prepared to wait :).

Thankfully, I don’t have to wait too long for my seat. As I waited I have picked the menu that I wanted to order so our order came instantly as we were seated. I picked their special blend called EF 7 which is dark roasted beans that they described as bitter and not too acidic. I don’t usually order single-drip coffee and I prefer cappuccinos but I genuinely love it! Not like the mainstream coffee shops such as blue bottle coffee, this cafe is more of a third wave indie coffee shop where we can see the owner’s passion towards coffee and how he didn’t really want to make that much profit from the cafe but he made it just because he is passionate about it (I am talking like I know the guy himself) (I don’t) (just assuming from his face) (I don’t speak Japanese).

It is a pity tho that I don’t get to explore Kyoto’s coffee more as I’ve heard that they have a lot of places that serves real genuine coffee.

2. A trip to Hiroshima

I’ve always wanted to visit the city. I basically grow up hearing and learning a lot about the incident that happened towards the city as it leads to my own country’s independence. I do have several assumptions in my mind about the Japanese, the city, and the incident itself. As I’ve watched a cartoon called “On this corner of the world”, it tells the story of young bride who suffered on the period of time where Japan is at war, it makes me think that the Japanese only highlights their suffering caused by the atomic bomb to the world and they don’t want to admit their faults and wrong doings. As a nationalist, this made me angry and I go to Hiroshima with this statement in my head.

But no, they do admit the bad decisions that they made. There are books and newspapers from the war time that tells story about the incident, both before and after it. As I strolled around the city and read materials that they gave, there are stories about the suffering of Japanese troops where they go to war knowing that they will lose to Americans, where a lot of them have to kill themselves by swallowing grenades, where at the time Japanese don’t really have much options as the Americans shut down their access to natural resources, how the survivors going about their day after the incidents.

This trip do taught me and open my eye somehow that a human being actually made those decision, go through that phase of life, and survived that kind of accident, making me to be more grateful of the life that I have now.

3. Gyukatsu Motomura

This place is definitely not over exposed and over rated. The meat just melt in your mouth! I queued for an hour and a half and I do not regret that at all! I will definitely come back just for this. In my opinion, this tastes better than Kobe beef (I know, I’m serious tho).

4. Make-up shop in Shinjuku

I don’t know the name of the shop but it is located near Shinjuku JR station and LUSH. This shop has everything (make-up and skincare wise) that you possibly want to buy in Japan and it’s tax free! You really don’t need to go anywhere else this place is seriously AHMAZING.

Review: Trolls!

Just watched Trolls yesterday and all I can say is that I LOVE IT. I am officially Trolls’s fan now. I was a bit skeptical because I didn’t like the look of the Trolls (I know, very judgy, yes) but I was deeply in love with the movie on the first 20 10 minutes of it. 

I love all the songs and the message of positivity that the movie tried to tell, totally inspiring and who needs more salty people in this world anyway? We have too much of those already :”D
