Before I answer to the several tags I’ve gotten I have. A new AU. Because I have a resit in 8 hours and my brain has decided this is the night to Not Sleep.
In the movie, the enclosure has this weird rock thing at the back through which the tributes were thrown into the zoo, right? Well I’m sure some tributes have experience climbing walls! Treech and Lamina, of course, but maybe also those from more urban landscapes like Bobbin, Teslee and Circ because they might have climbed buildings before. It looks like the wall is part of the enclosure wall, so the five of them use the wall to just… climb over the bars of the enclosure and get out. Easy peasy. They could use some elaborate ploy to get the keys and take out the peacekeepers and erase the footage to disappear like ghosts, but they could also just tie their clothes together for a makeshift rope and help everyone else climb onto the rock wall that way. Looks like the peacekeepers were mostly guarding the gate anyway, so two of the tributes sneak past the one dude stationed there (which is disrespectfully easy) and make some suspicious noises to distract him while the others pass him.
And then they’re gone. Just gone. Only half of the cameras in their path picked up any footage of them, but that doesn’t matter because nobody checks that footage until it’s already too late and they’ve left the zoo. Now what?
Nothing, that’s what. The tributes aren’t even in the city anymore, they stole food for a week and started hiking, what’re you gonna do? Follow them into the forest? Nah, that’s their territory for over half of them, lets not fight them on their home turf. It’s not worth it, the games were a waste of tax dollars anyway

TBOSAS fix it AU where the bombs go off during the mentors only arena tour instead of the mentors and tributes tour, and the mentors are stuck in the arena. They were extremely lucky, as rubble and debris fell around and over them in a way that created a small “chamber” that will hold for now. The Capitol tries to get them out, but due to the severely damaged structure of the arena anything they do risks making the entire thing collapse onto the mentors completely. They need people specialized in building structure and stability or cave rescue to do this, which means people from the districts. Especially District 2, for their masonry expertise, and District 1 and 12 for their mining experience which has left them with knowledge on how to handle rescued in unstable environments after mining accidents like cave ins. These districts are initially pissed off that they are being forced to help the Capitol save their snobby, useless children from the place where their own, wonderful, innocent children will be forced to kill each other in a few days, but then they realize something.
The Capitol cannot save these mentors without their help.
They need the districts.
This is their chance
They all separately decide to refuse to send people to get the mentors out until the Capitol sends their children home and officially dissolve the games. Sadly, the Capitol refuses. They decide to try and solve the problem themselves. A week later, they have made no progress, and the mentors are starving. They’ve had to drink the water the Capitol has been dropping onto the roof, which seeps through the cracks and spills down to the ground. It gives them an intimate understanding of how the tributes must feel during the games, only they don’t have to kill each other. At least they have the privilege of knowing help is coming.
Some of the tributes begin to feel a little bad for their mentors and volunteer to get some kind of food to them. Treech, Lamina, Wovey, Mizzen, and Sheaf can slip through the debris blocking the entrance far enough to shove liquid nutrients through the cracks without risking a collapse of the whole thing, which would kill the mentors. They take this opportunity to eat some of the packs and hide a few more in their pockets for the other tributes, but they do give the mentors a few of the packs. It’s… surprisingly kind of them, and it makes the Capitol people consider if maybe they should just go along with the districts’ demands to bring their kids home. By the time they finally accept the districts’ demands, the districts aren’t satisfied anymore and demand the peacekeeper bases be emptied out, and all the supplies be left to the districts, in all districts, to ensure they won’t just go ahead and drag the kids back to the Capitol for the games. They want the arena flattened to the ground, and full jurisdiction to decide what will happen to the gamemakers. The Capitol initially refuses, but the families of the mentors demand the Capitol do everything the districts demand so they can get their children home safe. Finally, the president caves to saving his son over listening to the crazy doctor’s demands and gives in to all of the districts’ demands in hopes to get the mentors out.
And… it works. The districts actually keep their end of the deal once the peacekeepers have cleared out and all the districts have their children back. They get the mentors out, most of whom first ask about if their tributes are okay since they couldn’t feed them while stuck in the arena. Surprisingly, most of them are relieved to hear the games have ended, even though that means they can’t fight to have the prize anymore. Most of them even manage to negotiate with the district workers who got them out to be allowed to see their tributes in the districts once in a while.
After that, things are tense but healing. The districts, no longer under threat of being shot by peacekeepers and able to defend their borders again, negotiate better treatment and equal distribution of resources. They no longer let the Capitol rule them the way they did before. But they are open to trading with the Capitol, basically splitting the country into 13 small micro-nations that trade with each other. The Capitol can no longer live in luxury the way they used to now that they can no longer hoard supplies, but they end up finding that it doesn’t ruin their lives the way they thought it would. And the districts are happy with their independence and safety, so it all works out.

Completely totally 100% unrelated to the fics I’m working on I promise…
District wedding thoughts? Anyone? What traditions would individual districts have surrounding weddings that could be thrown in the Capitol’s face to make them finally understand that the districts all have their own cultures and those cultures are cooler than their maximalism?

Thank you I’m gonna get rid of Grandma’am for my fic now :)
I feel like it should be discussed more how the grandma'am played a part in how entitled Coriolanus became. Like people always talk about Dr Gaul 's influence but the grandma'am is the one that installed in Coriolanus his sense of specialty and importance to the point that he was convinced that he automatically deserved all that is good in the world also she should be held accountable for the fact that Tigris took on all the responsibility by herself entirely while Coriolanus didn't have to do anything other than his school work like this instuled in him the feeling that other people exist only to serve him and fulfil his needs and it definitely must have led to Tigris having self hatred issues

You know, upon reflection, I'd probably make one big change (aside from all the minor ones also in my head rip)
You know I hate to say “I told you so” I know you hate to hear it but I told you so!
I'd probably change this to:
I know you hate to hear "I told you so" I know you hate yourself but I told you so!
Because 1) I don't think Tanner hates to say "I told you so", 2) Hilarius is doing everything to convince himself he made the right decision and that deserves more focus and 3) the whole point of the song is Hilarius hating himself for making his decision and actively trying to lie to himself and everybody else to cope, so Tanner calling him out on the fact that his whole life and demeaner is a fake front sounds a little more appropriate here. Instead of "yourself" it might be more direct to say "your life", but Tanner's bitter so instead he's gonna go right for the confidence lol
(Omg the text fits)
I made you a thing :D It's still a draft version but I thought you might like it for the Good Luck Babe! Twinkhaw AU (and Hannah might too but idk how much you two have talked about it lol)
It’s fine, it’s cool You can say that we were nothing but you know the truth And guess I’m the fool Held my arms out and kept waiting knowing what you’d choose Didn’t wanna call it off But you would never call it love You only wanna be the one that I call baby You can play the part as perfect son Try to find a girl and ignore the feeling You can say it’s just the way things are Make a new excuse, another stupid reason Good luck babe, well good luck babe You’d have to stop the world just to stop the feeling Good luck babe, well good luck babe You’d have to stop the world just to stop the feeling And although I care I don’t wanna be your secret little love affair So I cry, it’s not fair I just need a little lovin’, I just need a little air You can play the part as perfect son Marrying a stranger, never feel that feeling Pretend that it’s just the way things are Grasp another straw, another stupid reason Good luck babe, well good luck babe You can’t stop the world, you can’t stop the feeling Good luck babe, well good luck babe You can’t stop the world, can’t escape the feeling And when you wake up next to her in the middle of the night With your head in your hands, she’s nothing more than your wife And when you think about me all of those years ago You’re standing face to face with “I told you so” You know I hate to say “I told you so” I know you hate to hear it but I told you so!  You can keep on trudging on and on Live your empty life, never feel anything We both know it’s not the way you are Live in your delusions till you see some reason Good luck babe, well good luck babe You cannot stop the world, you can’t fight the feeling Good luck babe, well good luck babe You cannot stop the world, always dreaming of me You cannot stop the world, cannot stop the feeling The world will never stop, and you won’t forget me
Oh my God, I love this!!! I seriously love this so much! This is so good and so perfect for them! Thank you so much, this is perfect and I love it!
(I think that I'm probably going to end up thinking of these lyrics instead of the actual lyrics whenever I hear the song soon.)

TBOSAS fix it where Snow is a little less internal about his “Lucy Gray isn’t like those dirty district animals” thoughts and pushes her being Covey as a way to get sponsors, except instead he accidentally ruins any chance of getting the Plinth Prize and destroys his future career because he gets the games cancelled.
See, Lucky starts asking Lucy Gray about the Covey due to how much Snow is pushing it as a reason to sponsor her, and she happily takes the chance to talk about the culture the Capitol tried to destroy. However, as soon as she realizes people are using this to separate her from the other tributes, she takes offense. She is not district, but that does not make the districts lesser. They’re all human beings, they’re just from different cultures.
This opens up two debates in the Capitol: the actions of the peacekeepers and who are considered “rebels” for the reaping. No one knew about the Covey or the massacre until Lucy Gray talked about it, so what else has the military hidden? And if she’s not part of the Districts and thus had nothing to do with the rebellion, then what exactly is the criteria to be considered a rebel and be reaped into the hunger games? Other tributes also start slowly feeding the fire by talking about the best, most beautiful parts of their culture because they can see the tides shifting in their favor. Reaper and Dill share their songs, Velvereen and Facet make jewelry out of random objects in the zoo (with input from tributes who know enough about those objects to tell them if it’s a good material to use), Treech and Lamina use glass shards from water bottles as makeshift knives to carve out patterns and figurines in tree bark, etc etc. The more musically inclined tributes put together their Districts’ unique sounds to create several songs mixing those sounds together to perform, and generally they help the Capitol understand that they know nothing about district culture.
Then there’s peacekeeper behavior. The Capitol starts to see the actions of their military that has been hidden (not helped by anonymous report leaks proving many horrific massacres occurred before the siege), and people tentatively start to wonder if maybe those actions are what led to the dark days in the first place. And if so, maybe they’re giving the districts more reasons to rebel with the Hunger Games instead of keeping them down. Especially because no matter how much Lucy Gray talks about how she’s Covey, not District, it never makes her think any less of the other tributes. She still defends them and makes it clear they deserve to live just as much as her, and it makes the Capitol wonder if maybe the lines they’ve drawn are actually a lot less clear and defined than they wish they were.
They don’t quite get an answer to either question, but they do end up canceling the games because enough people want to avoid another rebellion to put some serious pressure on the president. Gaul, in her desperation to keep the games going, ends up opening the door for an investigation into her human experimentation and rather strange views, and Snow… well, all his classmates hate him because he wanted their tributes, who they genuinely started to care for, to die, and it loses him the support he needed to get public support. He loses the Plinths’ charity and he loses any chance of having connections with his extreme and cold-hearted views. Tigris becomes a well known stylist, ironically being the one to rebuild the Snow legacy where Coriolanus thought she’d somehow ‘tarnished’ it, while he himself became the disgrace.

RIP Gale he tried his damnest to compete but never realized the ‘competition’ was actually an award ceremony and he was NOT on the roster
the slight implication that Peeta may have picked up some of his romantic mannerisms by observing Burdock and Asterid at some point will never not make me feel things
