"Does it look bad?" Lark blurted out the first response they could think of. While they tried their best not to let any desperation bleed into their voice, they couldn't hide how badly they didn't want Baxter to walk away and find someone else at the concert to kiss. "I mean, shit, sorry. Totally not what I wanted to say. I'm Lark, by the way! I think I definitely already said that. But, y'know, on the off chance I didn't. Sorry, wow, I'm usually a way better conversationalist than this." They quickly wiped their sweaty hand on the bleach-painted tank top hanging off of their shoulder. They held their freshly-wiped hand out to Baxter with a wide smile, one complete with a smear of black lipstick across their lips.
