First, my name is Megan, a friend of Riley’s. I need your help, more importantly, Riley needs your help.

As you probably know, Riley passed away due to complications of cancer. She was an amazing person and an amazing Shadowhunters fan, helping fans who couldn’t watch the show by uploading the episodes - purchasing the HD season from iTunes and spending countless times uploading them.

She also helped fans in need off line, helping raise money for people in need, homeless and sick.

After her passing, her family - stepfather and brother- were only able to give her the bare minimum of funeral services - an unimpressive casket and no headstone, flowers, or memorial.

With a heavy heart, I’m posting tonight to let all of you know that Riley has been on life support the past week, and the time has come to let her go once her stepfather and stepbrother says their goodbyes. 

I’m looking after her stepfather right now, he’s very upset - obviously and especially since he can’t afford a funeral and can’t get her a headstone, etc. Why do these things have to be so expensive? 

I know how much she loved you guys and how much she missed you. She was always saying how you guys were a second family to her and you should know how much she appreciated it. 

If anyone is open to donating towards a headstone or a memorial plaque, send a message to this Tumblr, I’ll keep an eye out for it.

Hi, guys, it’s me, Riley. 

It’s been a long time since an update. I’ve been home from the hospital a few days. 

So the news. The bad news is, the radiation didn’t do as good a job as my doctors had hoped. They’re suggesting another round but I said no. They said the type of cancer I have, without the treatment, the odds are it’ll spread but I can’t go through the pain again, not without the pain medication that I can’t afford. 

They’re suggesting a more focused treatment that’ll only last about 3 days but the pain from the side effects was so bad, that I can’t go through it again without pain medication and $200 is just too much for me. I’ve lost my job due to being in the hospital for so long. 

$200 may not seem like a lot but it is. 

So without the pain medication, I’ve decided to stop treatment. My doctors say if I do, I’d have a few years before I start to get really sick and most likely would have to go into hospice care. At least I’ll be able to watch the end of Shadowhunters. 

I want to thank you so much for all the help, messages, good wishes, everything sent my way that Megan shared with me. I love all of you guys.

The short of it is, her insurance won’t pay for the pain medication she needs due to a horrific side effect from radiation therapy. 

She’s thinking about giving up. Radiation therapy is the most effect treatment for her cancer and she wants to stop it. I’m devastated to see her so low and in pain. 

I’m asking for donations towards this. In my previous post, I calculated the cost of the medication for one week, and it came to $5,100. 

I’ve already given $1,200 towards that amount but I can’t give any more. So I’m asking you guys, the Shadowhunters family and her friends, for help with the last 3, 900
