Desertic is the third language within the Desertic family. It is spoken as one of the official languages of Beau-Désert. The Great-Kingdom of Beau Désert, unlike the bordering Earth Republic, is a monarchy, currently ruled by the Great-King Tsuyo II (name very much subject to change).

The Great-King Tsuyo II is by far the least popular sovereign Beau Désert ever had, disliked even by some of the most priviledged. That's because Tsuyo, when he was prince, was never intended to wear the crown, and therefore never prepared for it. However, following the events known as the Curse of the Royal Family, one of the youngest children in the family became the only child remaining, and therefore, the rightful heir to the throne. A role he didn't care about then, and one he doesn't care about now. The Great-King would much rather spend his time writing poetry under the shade, than care for his people's hunger. He did, however, do an impressive job at teaching his daughter, Princess Bi of Emerald, the responsibility of being an heir. Said princess, now, is known publicly for her impeccable sense of duty. Though many are afraid that this won't be enough to salvage the damage done by the ruling of Tsuyo II.

Linguistically speaking, Desertic is written with the Desertic alphasyllabary, which spelling has not been reformed for many centuries. That is how we end up with spelling atrocities like <ëm> /θo/. The Beau-Desertic, though, (the ones that can read) are proud of their writing system and language.

The Earth Republic, bordering the East of the Fire Empire and the North the the Great-Kingdom of Beau-Désert, is known for its apparent rejection of social classes. Keyword: apparent. In practice, social classes are still very much in effect, with big names of a past nobility still keeping their fortune and many of their priviledges. The Republic did achieve the greatness of making the poor less poor. In fact, if you were to ask an inhabitant of the Earth Republic what their country does right, they'd probably tell you with pride that the government invented a system to make sure everyone registered in the country has access to housing and education for free. Well, at least until a certain age.

Language wise, you may have noticed that Mnira has three writing systems: The first one is the Desertic alphasyllabary, which we might talk about in a dedicated post. The other two are called simplified Desertic alphabets, horizontal and vertical, respectively. Much simpler to use than the alphasyllabary, they are also versatile in how they are written. The horizontal alphabet is always written from left to right, but can be used from top to bottom or vice-versa as the writer prefers. Similarly, the vertical alphabet can be used in any horizontal direction, but letters are always written top to bottom.

Bleue is spoken in two neighbouring countries of the West of Manake: the Grande Bleue and the Petite Bleue (alternatively also Grand Blue and Small Blue). Both used to be one and the same, but the inhabitants of a big island next to the main continent were in deep disagreement with the ongoing political choices that were being taken by the Grande Bleue government, so they fought for and gained independence, earning the name of Petite Bleue: Small Blue.

You may notice Bleue has two writing systems: The Bleue alphabet, and an extended version of the Common alphabet, known as Bleue Common. This second alphabet is only used in the Petite Bleue, interchangeably with the more traditional Bleue alphabet. However, it is never used in the Grande Bleue.
