I think one of the reasons the breakdown scene is just so good is how long Danny and Ryan have worked together. Sure, there's obviously been a break, but the on screen relationship felt so bloody real. Robert's lashing out (and I definitely think he caught Danny with an elbow at one point) but there's no hesitancy in Ryan (or Danny). He's really going for it, and at the end when Robert completely gives in, his weight just completely goes into Aaron/Danny's arms, to the point that he needs to put a hand on the bed to centre himself.

It's just so real and raw from both of them, and I think a big part of it is how long it's taken the characters and actors to get to this point.

aaron still can't look robert in the eye when he is talking about his feelings because he still can't face them. it's always 'im moving on', 'i choose john', 'john is my future', 'you don't get to decide', but never ever 'i don't love you'. and yes, he was right when he said robert doesn't allow him to choose, robert always does it for the two of them and that's a problem in itself of course, but aaron didn't apologize for messing with robert's head either. robert told him he was willing to let go two times now (if you count the prison visit) i mean, that's GROWTH for him. but aaron couldn't deal with robert leaving so he did what he did and kissed him back (again) and slept with him. and then today he actually SCOFFED when robert said he was a temptation for him. but isn't that the truth? and now aaron is choosing the most aaronesque way to deal with all this by running, which never solves anything and hasn't ever solved anything in his life because he can't kill his feelings and they won't stop while robert EXISTS.

You heard the man, Robert. Go ahead and 'move on'. Aaron will sense a shift in the atmosphere and come straight back in order to stalk you on your date. It will be great.

I do hate people constantly telling Robert to do that, though. Just imagine how insane this all looks from Robert's perspective. His ex-husband (who is not an ex because they fell out of love) married the half-brother he never knew existed. And not a single person, including Aaron, has been the least bit sympathetic to what that must look like to Robert. My heart breaks for him.

It’s amazing how one episode can feel like a completely different show it’s shot so beautiful and cinematic and written amazingly and then the next it’s wham bam thank you mam back to being a soap

Wait hold up. What if during the stay at the murder cottage Aaron also clears the fog of the plot brain and realizes that yes it’s Robert he wants and loves but John already knew that because of the creepy listening device bing bam boom Aaron becomes hostage to John. Robert and Aaron have been texting but he hasn’t gotten a text back he goes to Chas and asks if she’s heard from Aaron she goes blah blah blah stay away but deep down she knows SHE KNOWS they’ve started up again rolls her eyes but then says no I haven’t Robert’s Aaron senses are tingling knows something’s up and goes to find him…
