I love how you draw April!!!

I love your interpretation of 2012 April she's my favorite version and she doesn't need half of the hate she gets. I do understand she could've been written a bit better though

WELLLL, MY interpretation of April is happy to know she is seen as cool.

Oh Rise Splinter... I have so many opinions about that man that would get me burnt at the stake by the fandom ☠️☠️

I think to much about "what if the turtles didn't avoid all those close calls."

I do this with almost everything I watch, but mostly with TMNT.

Like- how would the plot continue if they didn't avoid the UNGODLY amount of close calls they've had?

For example:

In ROTTMNT, what if Raph didn't catch Leo when he was thrown off the roof?

In 2012, what if they didn't make it out of those traps/rooms Karai put them in?

In Mutant Mayhem, what if they were ACTUALLY crushed?

So on and so forth.

SIMILARLY what if the writers actually put in more detail with turtles and realistic traits?

IN TERMS OF LIKE- the whole shell thing I and mrcaffeinatedisopod mentioned before. As well as maybe their senses and all that. Maybe even the sounds they make or certain behaviors. [ I think Rise might've been the closest we got to all that stuff ]

I think too much, but yeah-

I have something similar for my fan iteration, but it's still in it's infancy so ☠️ there's nothing really concrete about it, but I headcannon that Splinter used the colors of their bandanas so he could have something to call the turtles while he figure out whether they were boyos or girlies — I think somebody made a really cute comic about this for ROTTMNT.

Thank you for explaining it, I never finished 03 and I may have skipped some episodes of that arc from 2012 ( because I thought it was boring at first ) so that explains why I'm a dum dum

Truthfully, sometimes I hate the whole “intentionally mutated vs accidentally mutated” thing between the rise turtles and the other turtles. In part because I don’t think it’s a great way to compare the two types of turtles. It feels like it discredits the accidentally mutated turtles’ strengths in regards to skill and form. Making them somehow lesser fighters or threats.

I would argue a better comparison would be natural talent vs. hard learned skills.

Take the “accidentally mutated” 2012 Raph for example. While he might not be able to make the projections Rise Raph can, he stills have an astounding amount of brute strength that has been honed by years of training under a skilled master. Which allows his to fight opponents that are double his size like so:

Because in a fight it’s not just about how strong you are or about how hard you hit. It’s about who can land their hits that hurt, take a blow when needed, and keep on fighting. That can takes years of practice
