Quebec to invest $20 million towards settlement services for immigrants

Quebec is planning to invest more than $20 million towards the settlement services for immigrants over the next three years, announced Quebec Immigration Minister Nadine Girault. The funding includes $7.4 million for 78 projects for immigrants in 17 regions of the province through its Community Support Program, the Programme d’appui aux collectivités (PAC). In the last two years, Quebec has made significant investment towards the settlement services for immigrants through its 74 service centres across the province.

Alberta now invited 5,617 Express Entry candidates with the latest PNP draws

Express Entry candidates were targeted in another round of invitations from Alberta PNP. Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issued a new round of invitations to nominate eligible Express Entry candidates for provincial nominations.

The province held the first round on September 30, targeting 275 immigration candidates registered in the federal pool with an Expression of Interest already submitted to AINP.  Invited candidates needed a score of at least 300 in the Express Entry system in order to be eligible for an invitation.

Canada reported record number of job vacancies in Q2 2021

A record number of job vacancies were reported in Canada in the second quarter of 2021, according to the data released by Statistics Canada. The job vacancy rate in Canada between April and June was 4.6 per cent, the highest since 2015. The total number of vacancies reported in the quarter was 731900, which is 26 per cent more than the number of vacancies reported during the same period last year.

Alberta holds two PNP draws with CRS 300

The two Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) draws held recently invited Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of 300. In the first draw held on September 14, 385 immigration candidates received invitations from the AINP while the second draw held on September 21 invited 450 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. With these two draws, the total number of invitations issued by Alberta PNP this year has reached 5342. The annual nomination allocation for Alberta for the current year is 6250.

761 PNP candidates invited in September 29 Express Entry draw

In the Express Entry draw held on September 29, Canada invited 761 Provincial Nominee Program(PNP) candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score for the candidates to receive an invitation in this draw was 742. Since all the invited candidates are provincial nominees and they must have received 600 additional CRS score points along with the nomination, the minimum basic CRS score of the candidates invited in the draw must be 142. In the previous PNP-only Express Entry draw held on September 15, Canada had invited 521 PNP candidates with a minimum score of 732. This time, the number of invited candidates is high and so is the CRS cut-off score.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has started issuing invitations for the Parents and Grandparents Program(PGP) 2021.
