"Oh please take him - or her, the bow is kind of unisex, I suppose," Aoibhinn mused, absentmindedly wondering if she should have adopted a cat alongside her dog. Then she would have no excuse not to buy this little fellow. Aoibhinn gasped in surprise before letting out a nervous chuckle. "I think he's safer in your hands." She explained, extending out her cupped hands to the other girl. Aoibhinn smiled at that, feeling a little more comfortable in a similar company. "Mine too!" She beamed with excitement, gosh it felt like the stars were all allianing. "Do you have like an animal of choice, or is anything good so long as it's cute?"
Ava's head turned as she heard the woman next to her speak. Her eyes locked onto a white porcelain cat figure that bared a striking resemblance to her white cat at home, Ghost. "I'm definitely interested in the cat if you're not completely sold on it," she chimed in. "It looks a lot like my little guy at home." Her eyes widened as she saw the cat statue almost spill out of the woman's hands. The brunette jerked forward just in case it fell completely out of the other woman's grasp. "Girl, I'm definitely the wrong person to save you because I'm just as weak as you are. My desk at work is filled with all the little knick knacks that I can't pass up."

Aoibhinn had been desperately trying to dodge uneven ground in her espadrilles, the very last thing she needed was to sprain an ankle for the sake of an outfit pic. It was hard you know, always trying to stay trendy and fun. Her back ached and her ankles were probably swollen from the heat and pollencount. Maybe she should have put some antihistamines in her purse-- nevermind. Her 'should have dones' were paused when a familiar face began to walk her way. Aoibhinn beamed at the sight of Benny, finally someone she knew!
"Every week is tax season if you're keeping on top of your expenses" Aoibhinn taunted, taking Bennys had to shake. "I'm afraid HR would have my ass if I spilt the business beans, but let's just say there's always a bad egg in the cart. Speaking of trouble, who gave you the day off? Don't tell me its just to bask in nature." She smiled, before glancing around at their surroundings. " Between you and I, I'd much rather be in a bar soaking up the G&Ts than be here."

Benny's bar stocked some of the beers from the O'Brien Brewery, which meant he had worked with Aoibhinn often enough that he felt comfortable saying hello in public places. It wasn't like he needed a specific reason, exactly, but there was something that made him hesitate when it came to approaching acquaintances. Strangers were fine, he could handle that. Friends? Even better. Acquaintances made Benny a little nervous, if only because he didn't know where they were at. Was he supposed to say hello? Was he not supposed to? It gave him hives just thinking about it all...
Thankfully, Aoibhinn wasn't a stranger by any means. "I'm surprised they let you out of the brewery," he teased as he walked up to her, extending his hand for a polite handshake. "Figured you'd be knee-deep in that office of yours with tax season creeping up on us. Any of your employees go making trouble this year? Losing their W-whatevers and claiming you never sent 'em?" He had an accountant that helped him out, but Benny liked to do as much of it as he could on his own. He'd always had a mean independent streak.

"Brick-a-brack!" Aoibhinn repeated with an amused grin plastered across her face, it was such a fun tangle of words to say, she could mutter it all day long until she became tounge tied and brain fogged. "Its like little trinkets or dolls or useless little keepsakes that you'll find on the mantlepiece in old ladies homes. Sometimes they'll be placed next to the fine china" She explained with a fan of her fingers, gesturing to the overflowed table. Aoibhinn sighed dramatically as if the thought crossed her mind already. "A cart would be ruinous for my bank account. Heckling?-- do you mean haggling?" She laughed. "I don't think I'd be any good at either, are you?"
if there was something to be looked at … kiernan was there. maybe, unless he forgot, then he would circle back to it when it was right in front of his face again. his third time looking at vendor booths. and, well, at least he wasn't the only one enthralled ( or, at the very least interested ) — “what's a brick-a-brack?” eyebrows shoot up. is this new slang he'd never heard of? puts that in his arsenal. “maybe y'shoul'da brought a cart. if you ask ‘em real nice, could probably buy out their whole place for a good price. y’ever heard of heckling? do it good enough, wear ‘em down? they’ll give you anything you want for what you want.” or, in his case, talk until they want him to leave them alone.

"I wish I could say these little creatures didn't capture my heart, but sadly I'm obsessed!" Aoibhinn confessed, holding the little figure close her to chest before reluctantly placing it back onto the table. "More things should be free, then we wouldn't have to worry about impulse spending." She complained, knowing the economy would crumble. "Maybe we should go back to the medieval ways of bartering."
Caroline glanced down at the porcelain cat that the woman next to her was making a fuss about. "It's cute!" She agreed, even though it wasn't really her style. "I'm not judging, impulse spending is a curse." She added with a small laugh.

Aoibhinn's eyes scanned over the table of treasures before her, maybe it was awful taste, or maybe it was the elderly lady inside of her, but she most definitely needed every single item. "You Ches, are simultaneously a bad influence and number one supporter." Aoibhinn teased, if Chesney was truly a bad influence then Aoibhinn was a terrible-world-ending-catastrophic one. "Can nic-naks be considered classy? Or is that just what we call them now to hike up the prices like 'vintage?'" she pondered, with a click of her tongue, still inspecting the porcelain cat. "Oh he needs a fabulous name like Smyth, or Cornelius or Gerald-- oh my god, do we know a Gerald? I feel like we do.."
"Oh, no," Chesney said, shaking her head slowly as she gave Aoibhinn a faux frown. "I'm afraid I can't do that, because I absolutely think you need every single one of these." She scanned the table, reaching out to pick up a flamingo-shaped martini glass. The blonde looked it over before scrunching her nose. "I mean, not this one, though. This one feels cheap. Not at all as classy as those." Chesney sat the martini glass down and looked at the cat in her hand, tapping its little nose. "What are you going to call him?"

EVENT: SPRING FLING - OPEN TO ALL
"Oh my gooood, this is going to be excruciating!" Aoibhinn fussed, dramatically coddling a porcelain cat that was probably crafted in the 50s. "How am I supposed to leave this poor old dear behind? Oh, and look at those perfect frog salt and pepper shakers!" She gasped, almost dropping the cat. "God I don't need any of this stuff.. but like how does a person walk away from niche animal brick-a-brack? Im too weak-- save me!"

WINDSORBAY CHARACTER POST
Aoibhinn likes to believe she is close with her siblings and cousins, likes to believe everything is all sunshine and rainbows in the family because the alternative would make her too angry to function. Aoibhinn has a three year old daughter named Liadh from an ended relationship. Liadh was born on January 10th 2022. Aiobhinn and her daughter live in a 2 storey, 3 bedroom house in the suburbs. They have a rescue pitbull named 'Jakey Boy' or just Jake.
Aoibhinn is your typical kind of millennial mom. She loves reality TV and old disney movies. She tries really hard to keep up with the lingo and latest trends. She is not perfect, she's made 1000s of mistakes and shouts when things are too much. She is probably overworked and overstimulated, she really tries to see the best in people but she's so tired. Aoibhinn is very head strong and is likely to tell you when something is wrong, once its off her chest she's back to being a ray of sunshine. Aoibhinn is the greatest friend a person could ask for. She's honest and funny, and will show up for you no matter what. But she needs people to do the same for her, because despite how much of a brave face she puts on, she's lonely and she's ashamed for feeling that way.
2 of Aoibhinn's biggest and main personal dilemmas are as follows. (Both of these connections can be opened up to be filled if anyone is interested!)
The relationship breakdown between her daughters Father and herself. It was a tough decision to walk away from him and raise Liadh alone but she's trying her best.
The relationship breakdown between herself and her bestfriend. Aoibhinn lashed out at her when her life was in turmoil out of jealousy and lost a wonderful friend because of it.

THE CHARACTER.
FULL NAME: Aoibhinn O'Brien
GENDER: Cis woman
PRONOUNS: She/her
AGE + BIRTHDAY: 34 + March 12, 1991
LENGTH OF TIME IN WINDSOR BAY: 34 years
HOUSING: Suburbs
OCCUPATION: Accountant for O'Brien Brewery
THE INTERVIEW.
What’s it like, living in Windsor Bay? Did you ever picture yourself settling down here or did you always know this would be your home?
"Oh wow well honestly I kind of thought I'd be the first of my family to branch out and go someplace a little more exotic like Greece or Thailand. I wasn't much of a homebird, I used to go all over the world for work until the pandemic and then I got comfortable, fell hard in love and had a baby. I'm glad I stayed in Windsor Bay though, people say everything happens for a reason and if I left, I wouldn't have Liadh. Now I know that there is nowhere else I could call home."
If you could recommend one hidden gem around town everyone should try, what is it? What makes it so special?
"Please, please don't judge me but I kind of love the rush of adrenaline from go karting at Need 2 Speed. Its like i'm so sensible when I'm driving you know, but there's always a part of me that's like 'Hmm what if i went like super fast down this empty street' and go karting kind of gets those intrusive thoughts out of my head. Plus I love to win, and its so much fun.. please don't tell my Mom."
What’s your family like? Are you still close, or have you blocked all their numbers?
"I try to love my family as much as one can, but sometimes you have to just turn off your phone and lock your doors. Its for my own peace of mind, because as much as I would take a bullet for them, I could also turn around and shoot them myself just as quick. --I've had years of bullshit arguments. Now I just nod, smile and walk away."
If you could have any three guests come to dinner, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
"Stanley Tucci because he would be amazing company, and he would probably do the cooking which I would love. Paris Hilton because she was the OG trendsetter back in the day and she still kills it everytime. Hmmm i'm thinking purely because we all need entertainment and delicious inside information Freddie Mercury or Prince."
Top five songs currently on your Spotify?
"Oh one second let me get my glasses on-- ugh my phone is so slow, one minute. Got it- okay! 1)Busy Woman by Sabrina Carpenter, 2) Lucky by Britney Spears, 3) The Way I Are - Timabland & Keri Hilson. 4) On The Floor by J-LO & Pitbull and 5) Let It Go - Idina Menzel. My kid just discovered Frozen-- send help."
Would you say you’re easy to get along/work with? Why or why not?
"I personally think I work better alone. People slow me down and ask dumb questions and I just -- dont have time for it. …"
We’ve all had our fair share of shit hit the fan and moments in the sun — tell me about a defining moment in your life, good or bad.
"I think the moment that defined me, and more importantly who I wanted to be, was the moment I walked away from Liadh's father. I loved him. I still do, and part of me might never recover from it, but he didn't want anything to do with me or her. I know in my own heart it was the right decision but it still hurts me."
Do you have any regrets? What are they?
"I regret falling out with my bestfriend. My relationship had just ended, I was heavily pregnant and she'd just gotten engaged. I was awful to her.. I wish I could go back and undo it but I made my bed and now I lay in it."
Are you a leader or a follower?
"Leader. Unless its like fashion related because no one told me UGGS were back? And Crocs? I've been wearing sneakers when i could have been living in comfort. Thank god for tik-tok."
It’s the little things in life; tell me three things that bring you a great deal of joy or put a smile on your face.
"Oooh okay so like, you know when you walk into a coffee shop in the morning and it smells so good? And then you pick up a croissant to go and you take a bite of it in the morning sunshine? I live for those moments. 2) A really good pair of jeans or boots on sale at TJ Maxx that fit perfectly! Its like a kiss from an angel and soooo hard to find. 3) Liadh when she's sleeply and climbs into my arms, and we cuddle for what feels like forever. In those moments when its just us it like time has stopped. And I just listen to her breathing and I can smell her hair in its little braid of blonde whisps and my heart just swells with love and joy."
THE PERSONALITY.
— + Honest, Compassionate, Optimistic— - Impatient, Stubborn, Tempestuous
AOIBHINN IS PORTRAYED BY NICOLA COUGHLAN, AND WRITTEN BY ASH.
