Holiday Bingo
It’s that time of year again! This year, we’re doing holiday bingo cards (completely optional, of course). You can make your own via this generator. All you have to do is copy and paste the list of prompts below (take out any you don’t want), select your card size (recommended 4x4 or 5x5), and click “create a bingo card.” Then you can copy and paste the code you get onto your blog in a text post (switch to html for it.) Known group members, tell a mod if you get a bingo on a card 4x4 or bigger, and we’ll post an achievement icon for you that you can proudly display on your card post. Everyone else is still free to use these prompts in the generator and make a card of their own. Happy writing! ♥ Prompts: Couple Gifts, Awful Gifts, Ugly Holiday Sweaters, Santa/Elf/Etc Costume, Family Dinner, Playing in Snow, Decorated/ing Trees, Spending the Holiday Alone, Escapist Vacation, Dressing Warm, Homemade Gifts, Scrooge, Holiday Feast, Meeting the In-Laws, Themed Party, Mistletoe, Candy Canes, Wrapped/ing People, Holiday Baking, Sub-par Decorating, Too Much Snow, Real Fire(place), Chaotic Shopping, Seasonal Job, Roasting Chestnuts, Trip Home, Tangled in Tinsel or Lights, Re-gifting, Culture Clash/Mix, Sleigh/Carriage Ride, Sledding/Tobogganing, Skiing/Snowboarding, Old Holiday Movies, Eggnog, Krampus, Symbolic Candles, Bad Songs, Donations, Ice Skating, Getting on the Naughty List, Present Hunting, Unconventional Advent Calendar, Reindeer, Saucy Cards, Holiday traditions, Unconventional Holiday Traditions, Secret Santa, Holiday Games, Naughty Gifts, Wrong Gifting, Holiday Tragedy

Send me a pairing and a number and I'll make you something :)
“Come over here and make me.”
“Have you lost your damn mind!?”
“Please, don’t leave.”
“Do you…well…I mean…I could give you a massage?”
“Wait a minute. Are you jealous?”
“Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?”
“I almost lost you.”
“Wanna bet?”
“Don’t you ever do that again!”
“Teach me how to play?”
“Don’t you dare throw that snowba-, goddammit!”
“I think we need to talk.”
“Kiss me.”
“Hey, I’m with you, okay? Always.”
“So, I found this waterfall…”
“It could be worse.”
“Looks like we’ll be trapped for a while…”
“This is without a doubt the stupidest plan you’ve ever had. Of course I’m in.”
“The paint’s supposed to go where?”
“You need to wake up because I can’t do this without you.”
“We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?”
“I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice.”
“Just once.”
“You’re the only one I trust to do this.”
“I can’t believe you talked me into this.”
“I got you a present.”
“I’m pregnant.”
“Marry me?”
“I thought you were dead.”
“It’s not what it looks like…”
“You lied to me.”
“I think I’m in love with you and I’m terrified.”
“Please don’t do this.”
“If you keep looking at me like that we won’t make it to a bed.”
“You heard me. Take. It. Off.”
“I wish I could hate you.”
“Wanna dance?”
“You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”
“Hey! I was gonna eat that!”
“Have I entered an alternate universe or did you really just crack a smile for me?”
“You did all of this for me?”
“I swear it was an accident.”
“YOU DID WHAT?!”
“If you die, I’m gonna kill you.”
“Tell me a secret.”
“Hey, have you seen the..? Oh.”
“No one needs to know.”
“Boo.”
“Well this is awkward…”

Prompt Set #720
Sometimes I talk to the dead.
Always be quick to judge.
We’re going through hard times.
You can find it all here.
Yes, but who gets the cake?
It was shameful.
It’s a tale that never ends.
Would you try for me?
Your future starts now.
Will you hold it for me?

Group Writing Exercise
Alright, writers, it’s time for another group writing exercise! As usual, it’s completely optional--let us know if you want to join. This time we’re going to write a story all together, one chapter each. The point of this is neither to spit out crack or weave a masterpiece, but simply to practice some words and have fun seeing each other’s writing style and choices. Solely because it’s the most common and probably the only fandom we all know, we’ll be writing a Harry Potter story. (But feel free to include elements of other things for your chapter; this group activity will have rather loose rules.)
Rules:
Tell a mod or send the group an ask to sign up and nominate one character and one keyword. These will determine the story’s main cast and the base plot. Then we’ll assign the chapter order--each writer will get one chapter with which they can do whatever they want. (But do add tags if you add extreme content.)
Once it’s your turn, you’ll have one month to complete and post your chapter. Please make it somewhere between 50 and 5000 words. Try to honour the chosen cast and prompt, but otherwise have at it--the fun of this is seeing where each person chooses to go with it!
We haven’t yet determined whether this story will be a shared one on Ao3 or just posted on tumblr. Please let the mods know your thoughts on it and we’ll tally the votes.

Don’t fall into the danger of comparing your writing to anyone else’s. I believe that is the darkest place imaginable for a writer. You’re never going to write like your favorite writer because, just like them, you have a unique voice and you’re the only one with it.
You write beautifully and there will always be someone better than you and someone worse, but there will never be anyone who can do what you can. Keep going and write like no one’s reading!
