Anyway, did anyone catch that in the novel version of this Arc, Chapter 134 to be precise, it is implied that angels exist?
This is from a demon's POV seeing Hoyeol in the White Coat.

Spoilers for Chapter 522.

Does this also meant Lucifer is Canon?
#holy shit#wtf#i really hope they're exist#like no way demon exist but not angel#i wonder how author going to reveal them#the player hides his past#tphhp spoilers

Alive! (≧▽≦) Back on the interweb after a nice trip with a friend and work, so as promised I'll be continuing to post the phhp stash! 。◕‿◕。
This time it's my culminating art project from last month! (Aka trying to cram as many references into a surrealism-themed print while also disguising it as a normal piece to my teacher.) (^‿^)
Unfortunately more novel spoilers and components up ahead because it's all I think about, yea! ʕ´•̥ᴥ•̥`ʔ
(All blacked out parts are my signatures! It was necessary to hand in the project :])
Test Sheet! (Planning)

I have absolutely no idea where to start explaining but if you can't tell, pictured above is Lee Hoyeol and Grandfell (with the difference in hair color and apparent contrast in color)! ^_^
For the pose inspo, it's mainly supposed to resemble an eye (which will be the title because I was lazy), so that's why there's that weird square in the middle, which is like a pupil of sorts. Moving on to the inspiration from the novel and series, I tried to detail and separate their outfits to the best of my ability, the dark blue being the Dawn set, and the black is Grandfell's suit or whole ensemble in Arcana. The background shape is a six pointed star, which is supposed to represent the hexagram brooch from the novel, which I will give a further visual on later! The background colours are pretty much based on the manhwa cover! (LHY = Red, GCAR = Blue) (・∀・)
Base pattern! (3 editions)

This is the main version I printed three times! Larger version of LHY, which means I was able to add more details to the print, such as adding folds, the buttons and tassels + ropes on the suit! Also I cut out the outline and hands first thing to keep it clear since the white ink isn't that effective! ( ╹▽╹ )
Experimentals! (4 versions!)
1. Grandfell Claudi Arpheus Romeo

Experimentals were basically do whatever you want, so that's where to put the most references! (^^) My teacher showed us this large bin of different colored papers and patterns and when I saw this sheet I genuinely started salivating a little;;;; (• ▽ •;) I got to add a lot of details!!! my goal for this particular copy was to highlight Grandfell's relation to Claudi, and also just his atristrocatry! My teacher really loved this one and I was trying to stifle a laugh. Blue and Silver??? No way it's literally the thing!?!?!? [Mind blown] I was very glad with how the white ink overlayed with the bottom layer, since Grandfell has silver hair in canon, not pure white. 。◕‿◕。
2. Lee Hoyeol

Found a cool floral print, but it was a bit too large, so I used some of the components to make a collage of sorts! It reminded me of all the early season joy/happiness and I miss his whimsy so much;;; I could even go as far as to make the connections to the novel like how the light background represents Lee Hoyeol's early past, which has been stained by all his sins from his regressions. And like trust the eye is a window into the soul or whatever they say! ( ;∀;)
3. The Player Hides His Past

Really excited for this one! Based on the manhwa cover, which is pretty obvious, so I was really happy to find this red and blue patterned paper! It isn't really visible, but the background for the print is in red and blue ink respectively, but it's less visible since it's semi transparent. Very pleased with the simplicity of the process and how it turned out! (≧▽≦)
Manhwa cover for further comparison!:

4. Tea for Two

Here is the amalgamation of references into one edition! I put the visual layout below, but it was a blast trying to combine both references to the series and personal experiences while reading it! The whole shape is a teacup, a callback to the series and Grandfell's love for green tea, but I used a music sheet to place the print, and I wouldn't be able to create the shape without cutting into the print itself, so I used spare materials from the bin! So fun fact, this teacup actually has a silver coloured backing! (Yet another reference!) (・∀・)
Extra: Explanation Chart

🩶: Six sided star is referencing the hexagram brooch/pendant that appears in the series! Only added both of the novel covers but it has already made an appearance in the manhwa a while ago! (I just forgot to find the screenshot) (^▽ ^;)ゞ
🟩: Tried to recreate the teacup on the cover to the best of my ability! Made the tea bag and handle also! I really love how important tea became in this series in regards with character dynamics and further in the story! ◉‿◉
🔷: Sheet music from my ensemble (a spare copy)! My favorite cover of this song (which I was really stupid to realize a few months after playing) is from The Bachelors, who also covered Tea For Two! Got both of these songs in the phhp playlist!
Sorry for the late post, and please let me know if you have any questions!!! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

Hello again! As promised, I am continuing to post more of my Phhp-based stuff! (✿^‿^)
After some reviewing and tweaking, here's my Spotify playlist! ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
But first, some things to add, disclaimers and whatnot:
- This playlist is based off The Player Hides His Past novel, but mostly the dynamics between Grandfell and Hoyeol!
- At the moment I really only listen to 50-60s old timey love songs (you can tell where this is going for sure), sooooooo the playlist may not be like an actual series playlist but more ship focused... (^~^;)ゞ
- This also means that even though there are a ton of recent songs that probably capture current arcs or intense battle scenes more accurately, they won't be in the playlist. (´-﹏-`;) ( I still appreciate hearing about them tho! I have some faves myself :] )
- Most of the songs are kinda based on the vibes themselves, whether in relation to the novel, the changing dynamics between Grandfell and Hoyeol, or some favouritism to the artists (which will be very apparent trust). And other songs have really accurate lyrics to one of these things! In regards to this, I will be further talking about some songs in particular, and also mentioning other songs of interest! ( ╹▽╹ )
- While discussing this, there might be spoilers involved, which is why I'll put them under the 'read more' section (which I have just learned how to do)! (◠‿・)—☆
- Because these are songs written a while ago, they're not going to be 100% accurate, so please be patient and understanding with me if you're listening! (There's also a ton of fabrication involved regarding their dynamics and personalities so it might come off a bit extreme!) (๑•﹏•)
- I'll likely update the name for the playlist later!! (Hopefully I think of something good or I'm going to call it 'Claudi with a chance of meatballs' (which I would actually find really funny as like an ao3 crack one shot or something))
- If you have any questions or comments concerning any songs, I'd really appreciate hearing them! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
That should be enough yapping for now, if I remember anything else to say (my memory might be a bit hazy since it's like 3 in the morning) I'll add it in the comments! (*´ω`*) Hope you have a splendid time listening if you do decide to give it a whirl! (≧▽≦)
Honorable mention songs! (Songs that stood out to me but I didn't add to the playlist for reasons listed below):
1.
For very obvious reasons, this song fits extremely well with the series. But I didn't really want to listen to this song every time I started playing it! ┐(‘~`;)┌
2.
a) I really like this song, it's one of my father's favorites! I also think it fits really well with the whole ship dynamic, but I miight have listened to Olivia Newton John way too much back in 2020, and it would be kinda hard to add her back into this playlist. (Silly reason sorry (´-﹏-`;) )
b) It fits on multiple levels, but again clashes with the playlist itself due to the difference in genre and time period.
c) One of the recent song examples I was talking about earlier; I listened to it a while ago and I could still see some connections today when Spotify decides to play it, but it would just clash with the rest of the playlist;;; (Might make a semi modern song playlist vers for phhp? If anyone is interested enough because I don't know a ton of songs)
3.
I really like this song, but the subject matter is very ooc (out of character). I typically avoided adding songs where the angst or blues come from:
- Partner cheating
- Finding a new lover
- Losing feelings
- Partner is just pretending to love
- Partner is being manipulative/using the singer
The disconnect just hits really hard with these topics for me (• ▽ •;)
This is also why I didn't include the following song! :]
4.
I really enjoyed The Crew Cuts and their harmony in this song, but the novel has proved on multiple occasions in the past, present and future that disloyalty is not in the picture at all. Again a really good song but too ooc to be added to the rest of the playlist.
5.
I could really see this as like a comedic portrayal of Grandfell's noble behavior and language, but at some parts in the song I really felt like I was stretching it, so it wasn't added (Johnny Mercer's other song 'Candy' was tho). (• ▽ •;)
Key songs!!!!! (Songs that really changed/enhanced the way I read The Player Hides His Past, and also made me go 'oh my gosh this is their song') !
1.
The Bachelors just absolutely carried my entire novel reading experience. One of the main running jokes in phhp is tea, and the real cherry on top is the novel containing multiple important scenes pertaining to tea drinking together (cough cough chapter 615-617 (╯︵╰,) ), that really enhance the correlation between this song and the actual series. It gives me hope for a happy ending. •́ ‿ ,•̀
2.
I also greatly enjoyed Vic Dana's album, and this song and its imagery really gave me a clear scenario picture. ( It's one of my digital WIPs! I might post it as a WIP and finish it later (≧▽≦) ) The romance in this song's instrumentals and lyrics are so good I swear;;
3.
I really associate this song with The Player Hides His Past's arcs and storyline the most, based on the connection to action and fantasy themes. The imagery is really strong, and the further I read tphhp, the more every single line and lyric started to connect with the actual series. I could genuinely write an entirely separate post analyzing each lyric from this song and how it compares and connects to The Player Hides His Past. Genuinely a great experience being able to listen to this and read the novel in the early morning at my bus stop while the sun is rising. ( ◜‿◝ )
4.
This song is really amazing with its musical dynamics, and The Mills Brothers really achieved a great vocal harmony and tempo. Regarding the thematic connection to tphhp, I associate it (and many other songs related to time in this playlist) with
*SPOILERS*
the regressions that are revealed to have happened, which is kind of a stretch, but the original meaning of the song also fits too. 。◕‿◕。
5.
Oh I cried
I cried real bad.
This song played when I was reading chapter 616 & 617, and The Vouges did such a great job with this song, the vocals and musical dynamics enhanced the heartbreak and angst to a staggering degree. The absolute devotion in this song is just so amazing, and pairing it with The Player Hides His Past is such a diabolical combination. ('●⌓●`) (In the best way possible)
Number 6 would be Warm by The Skyliners but I ran out of images!!!! (≧▽≦) Again another great song to read the novel with in the early morning when the sun is rising!!! (✷‿✷)
I can't wait to post more stuff and contribute to this fandom!!! (≧▽≦) Thank you for being patient with me!!!! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

I'm not gonna lie, I thought y'all were exaggerating when you said Hoyeol rode on a lily pad in [Predator Swamp].
You were not, in fact, exaggerating. And he looked cool while doing it? Nobody can ever do it like Grandfell can.

Calling All "The Player Hides His Past" Fans!!!
Calling All "The Player Hides His Past" Fans!!!
I'm trying to write an ao3 fic of "The Player Hides His Past" and would like to know if this is a good summary to draw you in.
Summary: Lee Hoyeol made a gag character around the time he began to play as Grandfell, he created the character so that he could spend more time with Grandfell and to see what it was like to fight alongside Grandfell. So Lee Hoyeol made the character based on him and his future insecurities. It was more out of curiosity than anything else.
He had no idea how coincidentally his gag character matched his current self, or how he would accidentally break Grandfell’s nose with his foot when he possessed said gag character, or why people seem to think that they are married.
The story begins at chapter 15 in the manhwa when his sisters visit.

Ch 77 spoiler, this is me venting about the manhwa. Pls don't read it if you don't like critic.
I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE, IT'S BAD LIKE REALLY REALLY BAD😭😭😭WAY TOO RUSHING, CHANGING AND CUT OFF A LOT OFF PART AND THE WORST OFF ALL IS MISCHARACTERIZATION 💀 Come on mannn ᕙ( : ˘ ∧ ˘ : )ᕗ Whyyyyyy, why are you doing this? Do they know how much will this change the lore? I also want to see the side characters interaction too....The only reason I stay because I love the artstyle. Why is Hoyeol and Grandfell acting like that? I don't mind him making silly face all the time, infact I loveee them. But come on, why do they make him such a jerk? (he's kind of like one but not to this degree) Where is my 24 hour information yapper? :(((( He is so fking dumb in manhwa ver😢 I beg you plss don't change this manhwa genre. I bet 100% this author did not read the novel, like at all. The novel author is already sick enough, pls don't be the reason I'm going to join em too. Again I'm sorry for the yapping, it just hurt to see your fav novel turning into something like this.

Dragon Hoyeol x Willing 'sacrifice' Grandfell
In a faraway land called Arcana, a dragon was born from a small egg, surrounded by his parents and unruly sisters. Eventually, he hit a sort of... rebellious phase. Running away from home, he searches for a new place to make a lair for himself. A cool, dark place with ominous trees and lakes would do perfectly...
Is what teenager Hoyeol thought. Now, current day, a fully grown dragon, he realized what a moron younger him was. Turns out, swamps AREN'T a good place to set up a lair unless you want your scales to get slimy and brittle. Prey was scarce, forcing him to eat smaller prey, like crocodiles and deer. Nothing filling, barely able to sustain his stunted little body.
Forced to relocate, Hoyeol slowly makes his way to an open plain, bordered by a small range of mountains. No doubt full of caves he could consider, but what was even better was what was nearby. A civilization of, what he later learned to be, humans. Their small boxes littered the plains, huddling close to the river that led out of the mountains. Not only that, but there was a massive, and I mean massive, portion of land boxed into by walls. It was nothing compared to the tiny boxes that surrounded it, no, it completely dwarfed those by miles. And-
Holy shit is that a Woolly Draft Horse? That could feed him for a week!! Stomach gurgling, Hoyeol snatches up the massive animal in his claws, struggling to stay afloat. Finding a suitable cave was also a priority, especially now that he had food to protect. It was easy enough, the first cave suited is current needs, so he could just migrate again once he got bigger.
Over time, Hoyeol noticed that the bustling herd of humans would disappear when he flew overhead. Did they not like him? His mother always told him he had beautiful scales, so it couldn't be that they found him ugly... In the end, the young dragon settled for mimicking their features as best he could. A cramped body, weird fleshy protrusions they called 'ears', and fur scattered in odd places of the body. Looking at his reflection in a lake, Hoyeol nods, proud of his new appearance. Surely this was good enough.
Nope. Definitely not nope. After much trial and error, most of the trial consisting of preventing impalement with a point stick, Hoyeol could seamlessly merge with the population. He learned many things about them, their culture, the lives they lived, how their herd was structured, all of it. Turns out, the giant thing called a manor belonged to the herd leaders. Not only that, there were rumors that the herd leaders were planning on dealing with the dragon that found a home nearby! Naturally, Hoyeol can only assume the worst, so he begins to lessen the amount of times he visits the town. He would miss the strange man that was always suspicious of him, but his silver hair was too alluring for his instincts to completely write him off as an enemy.
Although, he did get Hoyeol some food, as small as it was... Were those the portions humans are, how odd! Not the point! The point is, maybe he wasn't as dangerous as he first appeared!
Whatever, it didn't matter, they wouldn't see each other again. No way in hell was Hoyeol going to visit a town that was planning to 'deal' with him, whatever that meant. Well- that's what he thought, until a certain silver haired man made the strenuous hike up to his lair, adorned in the strange hide called 'silk' that humans so greatly coveted.
... he's here to kill him...!
