Huh... This was new. A warm feeling in his chest, not spurred by his usual ideations of ill deeds to others, seemed to resonate within him when the white-haired pup hugged him without hesitation. Normally, new feelings and situations agitated the narrow-focused Saiyan, but this... Maybe because it was little Cayla, it was acceptable.
So that's what warmth in his heart felt like. He'd carefully hug the pup in return, while his selfish mind shifted towards her needs. Gods... He really was getting soft, wasn't he?
"If there's anything you need, just ask. Even if it's for me to stay here awhile."
“   you  deserve  every  good  thing  in  the  world .   ”
-Castor to Cayla. Wow... Castor has a heart for the little pup. Who would've guessed?
𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐓 / 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓   ♡   𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒
No one would've guessed that he'd say something like that...not even her. But she'd be lying if she said it wasn't welcomed. She must've been thinking about how she missed her granny again. Not a single thought came to her head before she hugged him.

Tater's eager binkies and stomps would earn further excitement from her companions, as Yujin, Shuen and Llumia each seemed to have their tails swaying around more rapidly, as if on the edge of their seats; waiting for the Little Rabbit to offer further details about such a positive and incredible development. Though, the Lagomorph had an excellent point about how brief it was, and how awesome its power was, which left the Hero of Hope to chime in.
"I'm honestly a bit excited to see it for myself, and help Hakkona wield it to the best of her abilities. I just wish we all could've been there to cheer you on, in person!" Even if the Buff Gal clearly understood how important it was for the others to have been training themselves, in spite of her own endeavors, the Paradox Saiyan couldn't help but share his optimism, and reassure Torno's daughter that, even when they weren't all together, their support was always with her.
With the Luparian's curious inquiry, though, would come a nervous smile in response from the Mighty Heiress, as she began rubbing the back of her neck; her gaze still meeting Tazz's own, after Shuen had spoken up. "Honestly... I'm not really all that good with naming things, especially when it comes to myself. I was hoping that I could get some help with that, once I can learn how to use it properly."
PEW!!!
Without indication or even so much as a sense of any other Ki signature in the vicinity of the collective group of peacekeepers, the sound of a rapidly shot energy blast would cut through the peaceful, natural noise of the world around the Saiyans, Luparian and Lagomorph! The very instant that the sound was picked up, eyes were already darting to spot its trajectory and point of origin, to desperately assess the severity and intentions of what could only be seen as an act of violence against a member of the group! The only immediate assessment that anyone could make, however, was an unmistakable and terrifying one...
Tater was the intended target of an assassination attempt, and the Ki blast was rocketing towards her like a sniper's well-placed bullet; aiming to eradicate the Little Rabbit in one calloused shot...
Thankfully for the Little Rabbit, her allies couldn't quite see her tail wiggling so wildly behind her, while she played along with Hakkona's suspenseful dramatics about her own endeavors. The lingering moments of anticipation would have Yujin, Shuen and Llumia leaning in almost impatiently, until Tater finally revealed the Saiyaness's triumph! Even if Yujin hadn't met Lirocco personally, or even knew how strong he was, hearing that his former lover overcame something so stressful had him grinning ear to ear; his father's expression mirroring his progeny's own, while Llumia was just as giddy as the Lagomorph.
Everyone would thereafter voice their own agreements with Tazz, about the intensity of the situation that the Buff Gal dealt with, while both she and the Prodigal Son shared gazes with one another; both former lovers gaining a dusting of pink to their cheeks, however faint it would be. Once their gaze had been shared, Hakkona would turn her attention to Tater once more, as a wiggle of her eyebrows and a slight smirk etched itself onto her features.
"Isn't there something else that you saw, Tater? I didn't even notice it, but apparently it helped me win the fight, didn't it?" Curiosity would be piqued among Llumia, Shuen and Yujin, as the violet-haired Saiyaness tilted her head rather curiously, while the father-son duo's respective oculars widened. They likely had an idea of what Torno's daughter meant, but still... Those things weren't common.

They likely had an idea of what Torno's daughter meant, but still... Those things weren't common.
When Tazz would look to her other companions, she'd likely notice that Shuen's grin had softened into something more of a welcoming smile, perhaps in the event that Hakkona lost her battle with Lirocco. Given how much was at stake, even he was concerned for his former rival's daughter, and the fate of their lineage. Though, aside from the previously heated tirade caused by Yujin, it was rare to ever see Shuen without a smile on his face... Even when faced with uncertainty and heavy responsibilities.
Llumia, meanwhile, seemed highly giddy about Tater and Hakkona's return, seeing as how it was likely common knowledge by now, that she was the one who named the Saiyaness. As for Yujin, the Prodigal Son seemed to be attempting to subdue a mix of emotions welling up within him, as the uneasy air made him worry even more deeply for his former partner. Today was certainly an emotional roller coaster for him, and this wasn't helping.
After a few heart-pounding moments, the vessel's door would finally open to allow its inhabitants to disembark from the ship, as the Buff Gal descended first; looking unscathed, though the trip likely gave her some time to recover, Yujin imagined. Hakkona wore a sort of neutral expression on her face, which made deciphering the outcome more difficult for her companions, but once she saw their familiar faces, a soft smile quickly found its way onto her visage; her former lover being the first to approach her, while Tater was likely not far behind her.
"S-So... How'd everything go, Hakkona? Was the trip okay?" Doing his best to hide how lovestruck he felt, even if he wasn't obvious about it prior to speaking to Tazz, the anxiety and anticipation of the truth only seemed to make Yujin even more of a nervous wreck. Though, when he asked, Hakkona's own expression became slightly neutral again, before she tried to answer.
"The trip was okay, if not a bit panic-inducing here and there, but... Uh... Tater? Do you want to tell them? You saw it, I was just involved and didn't really see as much as you did." Nudging the Little Rabbit, the Saiyaness would almost purposefully build suspense about the outcome, because of how it went. Though, for all her companions knew, she could've been embarrassed by a potential failure in such an important endeavor.

Though, for all her companions knew, she could've been embarrassed by a potential failure in such an important endeavor.
"Speaking of Torno, where did you say he was, again?" Tilting her head, she hadn't missed the potential ally that would be, hopefully, coming to Earth to help her in her creative endeavors. She couldn't recall where the Mighty Saiyan was, and it was already weird for her to not see him and Shuen in the same place together, given their reputations. Still... Someone who could remedy the concern of possessing materials for her inventive ideas? It sounded as though she and this other person were meant for each other, in a business sense.
"He's trying to look for any signs of Ghost, Pholomena and Castor's presence anywhere on Earth. Even after two of them were seemingly taken down, he's got a hunch that they're far from finished." Though, Shuen sounded as though he shared that feeling in his gut. Oh well, whatever he and Llumia talked about after that, while Yujin and Tazz continued talking to each other, wasn't too serious.
Once Tazz had put an arm around Yujin's neck, a nearly inaudible groan escaped him, as the embarrassment seemed to need a moment to subside, while sharing his feelings with the Luparian seemed to, at least, loosen his frame enough that he didn't seem so on edge. Her warm smile and encouragement, though, would have the Prodigal Son smiling himself, as the thought of Hakkona sharing those feelings visibly made Yujin's tail sway rather giddily. "I will, when the time feels right. With everything going on right now, especially for her, I don't want to overwhelm her."
Mere moments later, in the skies above the Saiyans and the Luparian, a familiar spaceship would finally come into view, as it began its descent towards the nearest area that it could potentially land on; Tater and Hakkona's endeavor having seemingly finished, without any update being shared amongst the present members of their group. Just like that, an air of uncertainty and concern likely overtook everyone nearby, as they would soon learn the results of Hakkona's duel with Lirocco.

Just like that, an air of uncertainty and concern likely overtook everyone nearby, as they would soon learn the results of Hakkona's duel with Lirocco.
Shuen and Llumia would only step a few feet away from Yujin and Tazz, as if to purposefully indicate to them that the conversation wasn't necessarily private in nature. Though, had it been something more personal, Llumia would have likely appreciated Tazz's choice not to pry. Once Llumia began speaking, though, both she and Shuen would likely be heard, without speaking over the Luparian and the Prodigal Son's own exchange.
"So... I've got these blueprints and schematics for my first idea to help Tater, and I can explain what it is later, but... It suddenly dawned on me, that I have no idea where I'd find the resources for everything, without mining them, smelting, or taking parts from things on Earth. I feel like there are laws or things I'd have to do, to legally acquire them, and it sounds harder than making the stuff..." A soft sigh would escape Llumia, as the realization somewhat bummed her out; her creativity halted before she could take things to the next stage.
However, the Hero of Hope managed to chuckle audibly, before that grin of his found itself on his face once again. "Torno, Tater and I actually met another Saiyan on Chylli's planet, who might actually be able to help with that problem! He seemed pretty nice too, so I think you two would get along well! We'd just have to talk to Chylli, to see if we can bring him here, or if he even wants the change of scenery."
Meanwhile, Tazz and Yujin's conversation was still mutually taking place, even if Yujin was managing to listen to his father's conversation with the violet-haired Saiyaness. With his gaze averted, though, he didn't notice the smirk on the Luparian's face... Which was likely a good thing, since he was already flustered enough. "W-Well, uh..."
Shoving his hands in his pockets, the younger Saiyan would clear his throat, and manage to bring his gaze towards Tazz's eye, though that look on her face visibly made his own expression shift to one of embarrassment. She likely already knew what he was going to say, which was a relief, but... It also felt like it made admitting the truth even harder. "Ever since we started training together again, and just lately in general, I've started to feel the same way I did when I first fell for her. Even when we fought Castor, Ghost and Pholomena, seeing Hakkona in action somehow made me fall for her even more. Am... I dumb for thinking that maybe she'd ever feel the same?"

"Oh yeah? Try me." With the life he's lived, and the things that his father told him about, to make him less skeptical of just about anything in the universe, it came as no surprise to Yujin, that he chuckled when he challenged Meredith to share whatever information she could. Though, when she turned to face him...
That chuckle ceased immediately, as his gaze shifted to her left arm and lingered there for a moment or two. He didn't look petrified, or even like he took pity upon her, but somehow, the Saiyan looked as though he was experiencing deja vu. When his gaze would finally travel to meet hers, if the two could even share eye contact, there wasn't any sort of negative connotation to how he looked at her. If anything, he almost seemed like he was more awake, and more observant.
A slightly more attentive demeanor would allow the Prodigal Son the awareness to take in everything that was being said to him, but the sight of the bale of hay being waved so easily forced Yujin to stifle a smile of his own; the absurdity of the act, itself, not often an occurrence that he witnessed. An averted gaze, on the other hand...
He didn't want to call out her temporary break in eye-contact, but when she looked at him again, Meredith's voice only confirmed that there was honesty behind that, at the very least. That was something he could focus on, to avoid agitating the only current person he could talk to, to gain information. "Then help me put an end to this... No matter who or what is behind it. Is there anything else you can tell me?"
Up until this point, though, Yujin did his best to rely solely on observation, to determine anything about this woman's intentions and honesty. Whether it was because of how tired he still felt, or not wanting to be invasive about reading her Ki, the Saiyan made an attempt to empathize with her.
As soon as the question was posed, Yujin's eyes remained steadily locked onto the woman, even as her focus was temporarily drawn elsewhere. He nearly seemed to chock it up as, perhaps, a noise that he didn't hear, but the tired look on his face was evidence enough that he wasn't wholly alert enough to put much care towards shifting his gaze.
As quiet as Meredith's response was, however, a soft, albeit audible groan managed to leave the Prodigal Son; the Saiyan squinting his eyes as if that helped him hear her any better. Just from her body language, Yujin felt as though she wasn't much of a social butterfly, but... He'd never quite met someone like her before. Well... He supposed it wouldn't hurt to try to be jovial and reassuring, even if that wasn't hard for him to do, regardless. "They are nice looking trees."
A slight, instinctive sniff of the air would precede him answering Meredith's own question, though, as he allowed his senses to take in whatever they could, of his surroundings. "I've heard some rumors about people going missing... Or something about monsters... Or both?" Another groan, as he quietly scolded himself. He'd been sleeping a great deal better than he used to, but he still had trouble getting all of his synapses firing; leaving him a bit displeased with the slight lag he felt. Oh well.
"I'd really appreciate it, if you could tell me anything. You need a hand with that bale of hay?" Tilting his head while simultaneously rubbing one of his eyes, Yujin seemed well-meaning.

Even when we fought Castor, Ghost and Pholomena, seeing Hakkona in action somehow made me fall for her even more. Am... I dumb for thinking that maybe she'd ever feel the same?"
If Tazz and Shuen could read minds, and the look on his face wasn't so obvious, they'd both get to hear the Prodigal Son questioning his behavior from minutes ago, and how he came to realize that maybe all he needed was to hear that he didn't have to be his dad, to truly follow in his footsteps and forge his own path. While there was plenty of truth in the pain he felt because of his past grievances and tragedies, it almost felt... Silly, to blame his hopelessness on them, when the present stared him in the face.
A nod from the younger Saiyan would precede an involuntary sniffle from the same man, as he desperately wrapped an arm around both his father, and his Luparian companion; poorly attempting to keep himself from crying out of guilt for how he'd acted, while wishing to express his appreciation to them in the only way his body seemed to let him. A soft, albeit needed embrace would be Yujin's apology and thanks towards the Hero of Hope, and the Last Luparian, as he allowed the moment to linger for a few moments, until he felt well enough to calm down.
Shuffling a few feet away from the trio, however, was still the violet-haired Saiyaness, as she seemed to stand from her previously seated position. Llumia was cautiously making her way towards Tazz, Shuen and Yujin, as to not interrupt the moment harshly, although the look on her face was one that indicated she had something unrelated to bring up to at least one of them. "Hey, uh... Shuen? When you have a second, there's something that I need to point out..."
Glances would then be exchanged between the two redheads, as the elder Saiyan sought approval from his progeny, that things were settled enough that Yujin wouldn't feel blown off by his father. The Prodigal Son would offer a soft smile and a nod to his predecessor, as he released the embrace; allowing Shuen to step aside momentarily, to speak to Llumia. Though, the two weren't out of hearing range, and the conversation they were likely about to have wasn't one that required privacy.
As for Yujin, however, with Tazz being the only one close enough to him to really hear him at a lower volume... He seemed to look as though he had something on his mind again. His expression was one of slight embarrassment, if not uncertainty, as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Hey, Tazz? Do you... Remember what I said about Hakkona, a bit ago?" He couldn't even seem to look the Luparian in the eyes, however, as his cheeks took on a pink hue.

( Throwing Yujin your way! Prompt is from the Last Unicorn meme you reblogged! :D )
[Accepting] PROMPTS FROM THE LAST UNICORN
Meredith had been staring at the stranger as he approached her homestead. Until she felt a chill run up her spine, and pressure building in her ears. Her attention snapped to the treeline. Panic nipped at her heart, yielding only at Yujins words.
"Mmh--" she grunted, quickly shifting back towards him. She kept him to her right, a bale of hay dangling loosely from her hand. "Uh--just..trees...." Meredith managed to stutter quietly. Head bowed, golden locks fell to obscure her face slightly, as if retreating back into herself.
"Wh--why are you up here?" she asked, only marginally louder than before.

A soft chortle of amusement would escape the Buff Gal, when pastel colors were mentioned by Momo. Though, it was only because it reminded the Saiyaness of when her taste in colors and fashion leaned in favor of what the people of Earth called pastel goth. When the word quirk was mentioned, however, Hakkona seemed to tilt her head rather curiously, without interrupting the other girl while she spoke; a smile still etched on her face.
She'd set aside her confusion, as she took note of the things that Momo liked; nodding along, herself, as that smile of hers only grew a little more. "Those all sound wonderful! I like weightlifting, traveling, and... Fighting, as barbaric as it might sound to some." A faint pink hue came to her cheeks though, as she nearly struggled to think of more things that she liked. She was pretty simple in that regard.
"Oh! It's nice to meet you, Momo! I'm Hakkona. By the way... May I ask what a quirk is? You said you eat a lot because of yours."

Huh... Given her size, hairstyle, and Saiyan tail, Hakkona expected the other girl to ask more... Personal and precise questions. Though, the softer, more casual nature of her inquiries made the Buff Gal's tail sway a bit.
"My favorite color is yellow. It sounds kind of silly, but it reminds me of warm sunlight." When asked about her favorite foods, however, a soft giggle escaped her, as it was a question she was often asked. "Rice, any good vegetables, and lots of meat."
Still, it'd be rude of her to not offer the same curiosity in kindness to Momo, so she'd offer a smile. "What about the things you like?"

Yujin, even if he couldn't quite bring himself to say more than an earnest apology, looked as though he felt like he didn't deserve to be forgiven for his hurtful tirade towards both his Luparian companion, and his own father; his eyes barely managing to look towards Tazz, perhaps out of guilt, when she took a breath and tried to get through to him again. She wasn't belittling him for feeling the way that he did, and his father hadn't done that either, but it took his companion sharing part of her own past, for him to truly recognize it.
When the Luparian's eye looked to the elder Saiyan, however, the Prodigal Son's own eyes would do the same, as he seemed willing enough to finally listen to what both of them had to say, instead of being so steadfast in his negative mindset. Initially, Shuen could only offer an agreeing nod to the muscular woman's words, as he couldn't quite put it any better. As for regaling his own past, Yujin knew his father enough that any sort of personal admissions and explanations had already been heard, and the Hero of Hope's expression conveyed enough, that even he saw repeating stories of his past to his own offspring was necessary.
"I know that Torno and I are still around to lend a hand, Yujin... But it's your turn to protect the things we love. I'm not asking you to be me, or live to my standard. You don't know it yet, but when the time comes, something inside you will make your body act on its own, to save someone, or push through your own limits to keep safe the things you hold dear. It's how I knew that this was something I was meant for." His gaze shifted, then, from Yujin to Tazz.
"Tazz is right, though. It's okay to feel all of those things, but losing hope now, when the peace we had was ripped away, could be the difference between getting it back, and losing it. If you need help, we do have a growing group of friends and allies to lean on, so you'll always have our support, and more!" To punctuate his statement, the Paradox Saiyan would give both his son and his Luparian companion his iconic grin.
