HOUND AND HELLFIRE
( @dragvnsovl )
"Breaking news!" The television broadcast that had been playing just moments before was abruptly interrupted by the voice of a news anchor, as Tazz's companions were either off-world, in the case of the Lagomorph and the older Saiyans, or out on patrol shortly after the Luparian's own was finished some time ago. Allowing each other rest in shifts, now that the trio had become accustomed to keeping the peace, Hakkona and Yujin decided to take their turns simultaneously, to cover more ground. Still, that only left one peacekeeper to be present.
"A massive blue fire has been spotted by our news chopper overlooking the rural area nearest to the city, where a few vacation cabins are popularly known to be nestled in. Correspondents are saying that the fire has just begun, and that it's eerily reminiscent of a mall fire some time ago, as well as when three assailants attacked the city. No emergency personnel that have been dispatched have made it to the location as of yet, but even they are reportedly being told to proceed with caution!"
The only footage or photographs available to be shown by the news outlet would be that of a remote cabin, surrounded by lush trees, being set ablaze in the blue flames, from an aerial point of view.

The light scolding from the matriarch would have both boys halting their playful bickering with one another, as their gazes swept from the newborn to Tazz; both Fen and Hati offering genuine smiles to their mother, as the family truly began to feel more whole than ever before. While reunited, Hati's closed-off demeanor prior to Freyja's birth likely felt like the only thing keeping the past lingering in the minds of the family, as he was a massive component as to why the family fell apart more than it had, otherwise.
Affirmative feelings from the Luparian on meeting Hati's kinder members of Hati's former gang would have the more serious twin sighing rather contently, while his mother's loving smile would be met with a similar expression from him; gratitude being expressed through a soft hum, likely due to how Freyja kept his attention. Before long, the food that was ordered by Fen would arrive at their doorstep, and likely relieve the family of any lingering hunger they had. Fen and Hati would offer to let their parents eat first, while they all remained focused on the new addition to their family; the brothers keeping a watchful eye on their baby sister, as her first day home had already made such a positive impact on all of them. No matter what changes would come from Freyja's addition, it was clear that Shuen and Tazz's sons were more than willing to accommodate their parents, so that raising the little one would be easier on them than raising the twins likely was.
Seeing Tazz's reassurance for Hati being a great older brother would have the other twin softening his expression in agreement, as well as nodding his head. Though, Fen couldn't help but draw closer to his twin brother, and their newborn baby sister while the matriarch plopped herself down on the couch; the Hero of Hope joining her and taking her hand with one of his. As for Hati... He'd seem to linger where he stood after Tazz's vote of confidence in him was given, before finding a place to sit across from his parents, while Fen followed shortly after.
"When can I hold her, Hati?" Fen seemed a bit eager, himself, to dote on their baby sister, but the more serious twin let out an audible huff, as his gaze shifted from his twin to his parents, and back again.
"Mom just handed her off to me, Fen. Besides, I'm pretty sure she still has my finger in her hand." A smug smile almost etched itself on the features of the stern brother, as Hati came to realize that Fen was, whether he'd admit it or not, a bit envious. Regardless of the family being whole again, there was still a sort of friendly rivalry existing between Tazz and Shuen's sons.
"Hey... Mom? Do you think it'd be okay if we introduce her to Bracada or Siren at some point?" While it was likely that the twins' parents were accepting of Hati's surviving former gang members, since they were the nicer ones, the Half-Saiyan couldn't help but ask the question carefully, before wiggling his finger for Freyja again.

While it was likely that the twins' parents were accepting of Hati's surviving former gang members, since they were the nicer ones, the Half-Saiyan couldn't help but ask the question carefully, before wiggling his finger for Freyja again.
Tazz's comment and reminder of when her and Shuen's sons were babies would have both of the twins' cheeks turning a faint shade of pink, as any grown offspring would tend to react, when their parents brought up their childhoods. Though, it felt so long ago to them, that they were well aware that they were so much different than tiny little babies; leaving them to softly smile to each other thereafter.
The more stern of the twins would return his focus to his newborn baby sister as she played with his finger, while her continued gurgling and cooing continued to soften Hati's expression and demeanor. When offered the chance to hold her, however, his eyes snapped towards the matriarch, as if the very thought terrified him. He'd never held a baby before, and between himself and Fen, Hati felt like Fen was the safer one to put Freyja in the care of. The Half-Saiyan's guilt towards the past, however, couldn't quite outweigh the excited noises that Freyja made as she reached for him. How could he possibly say no her?
It would take Hati a few solid seconds to observe Tazz's arms and how she was holding the twins' baby sister, before he almost robotically and carefully reached to receive Freyja from the matriarch, while trying to let the little one keep a hold of his finger. "I don't think the choice is mine, from the looks of it." Veiling his emotions, as he was learning not to do such a thing anymore, Hati's affirmative response came with a soft chuckle, while Shuen and Fen looked on in surprise. "Fen, I swear if you keep looking at me like that, you're changing a diaper before I even get near one."
In Hati's defense, Fen may have had a smug, almost giddy look etched on his features, like he reveled in his brother's softer side.

"I've never met a girl taller than me..." Not that she was particularly a giant herself. Rosie's just thinking out loud. "Sick battle scars, hun." (For Hakkona!)
Hakkona had honestly heard many comments about her physique... But never quite her height, as she'd met a few people who were taller than her, if not the same size; the out loud comment from Rosie taking the Buff Gal by surprise, as she turned her head to face towards the blonde.
"I don't really hear that one much, believe it or not." The difference in height between the two was just short of half a foot in length, but the Mighty Heiress could understand how noticeable that could be. The secondary comment, however, had the Buff Gal shifting her gaze to her arms and torso, as she'd only really started to notice how many scars she had.
"You actually think so?" The blonde girl seemed nice.

i'm tired, that's all. - Serenity to Fen
Giving Serenity as respectful of a visual once-over as he could, the Half-Luparian's look of concern spoke volumes enough to the fact that he wasn't easily reassured. Though, the two not even being familiar with one another likely made his care for Serenity seem selfless, if not unnaturally kind.
"Are you sure? Do you need a place to rest? You aren't hurt?"

you're safe now, okay? just breathe. - Mitsuba to Ghost
The Scorched Saiyan couldn't quite remember what, exactly, took place that had him previously unsafe, but being presumably saved or removed from said situation was... Odd. Ghost's oculars would shift from Mitsuba to the ground or floor, as if gratitude or being cared for weren't things he could process head-on.
"What happened? Who are you?"

you don't have to act tough with me. - Tsunade to Torno
How he managed to actually get hurt to the point that someone would say such a thing to him was... Beyond his own recollection or understanding, but the statement from Tsunade would be met with a stoic, quiet stubbornness that seemed almost natural and default for the muscular Saiyan.
Scars on his upper body weren't hidden by garments of clothing, and the freshest ones that left him in his current state looked terrible, and yet... There he stood; his gaze unyielding in its skepticism and caution of those he hardly knew.
"What..." He'd groan, as he tried to straighten his posture slightly. Clearly, the act couldn't last forever, despite his continued attempt. "... Gives you the idea that it's an act, or that I should let my guard down?"

"We sure do! Whole trees of different fruits around the farm, since mom and dad got a lot of the land to grow stuff on!" Farming wasn't the only thing, or even the biggest thing that Fen cared about, but the Half-Luparian certainly seemed to enjoy and take pride in it, all the same. Though, he assumed that Cayla wasn't fond of vegetables much, since he and his brother weren't fond of them, when they were children.
"What are YOU doing here?"
(Fen to Cayla, because the pup and the Half-Luparian were fun before, and I think Cayla needs a break from Castor ;w;. Feel free to interpret the setting as you'd like, he's just happy to see her c:) (Also from the Alice In Wonderland starters in your meme tag :D)

Shifting gazes between the twins from the newborn would have both of her older brothers chuckling softly to themselves, while grins remained softly etched on both of their faces. Honestly... It'd likely been the first time since Hati was a young child, that he had such a strong, joyful expression. Regardless, both of the parents' sons would shift their eyes towards the matriarch when she chuckled at the comment about the hospital food; neither twin having remembered what it tasted like, or ever recalling a visit to the hospital.
"How does sushi sound? Maybe some rice with chicken or beef, some vegetables too? It'll probably be a pretty big order, but there's a place not far from home that delivers." Fen would be the one to chime in on the matter, as he had both of his hands free from the strong grip of Freyja's tiny fingers; pulling his phone from his pocket and likely already looking for the establishment's online order menu, while he waited for Tazz and Shuen to offer their input.
"I think that sounds good to me. What about you, dear?" Softly rubbing the Luparian's back with his hand, the Paradox Saiyan would softly lean his head against Tazz's own, while the twins looked to her for a response.

The little pup's enthusiasm and enjoyment in what Fen saw as work or chores did help the Half-Luparian see at as less of an obligation, and more like something enjoyable for himself, even if he didn't quite get why she liked it so much. "It can be pretty fun sometimes." Offering a soft chuckle, the punk-dressed farm boy just seem grateful to see Cayla happy.
"If you like eating any of the stuff we grow here on the farm, you're welcome to help yourself to anything you pull out. It's not like we'll have a shortage." If it could be grown on a farm, chances were high, that Fen and his family grew it there. Though, they also still had farm animals to tend to, like cows and chickens, and even horses.

"You're in luck then, Cayla! These ones need a bit more time to grow, but there are some crops over..." Ah, shoot... The farm was so big and abundant with crops, at times, that he couldn't keep track of everything as well as he thought. "... There that I could use some help pulling. I offered to take care of all of the farm work today, on account of mom having Freyja."
Offered casually, Fen shared new family news with the little pup like the two were old friends catching up, while also offering a hand if she hadn't gotten up from falling on her butt. "Looks like a clean pull, though! Do you garden?"

Given that it was his first time interacting with a baby, Hati was visibly surprised at how firm the little one's grip was on his finger, as her big smile only managed to make his grow all the more. Frankly, it put a smile on his face that the rest of the family hadn't seen the likes of very often, though the Half-Saiyan was gradually letting go of the past that made him more subdued and stoic. Shuen was thinking it, but wouldn't express it out loud, that the birth of Freyja could have been the necessary catalyst that would help the more serious twin let go of things once and for all.
Excitement from the newborn, once Fen came into view, would cause both of the twins to grin just as brightly as their father always did, while softhearted and awestruck laughs escaped the both of them. The Luparian's answer to Fen's query would only reinforce an already growing bond of love between the twins and their newborn sibling, as they both managed to then turn their attention to their parents.
"We were planning on getting something to eat, at least to celebrate and to save you from having to cook something. Fen and I figured that you deserved the chance to take it easy, and that the hospital food probably wasn't all that great. I hope that'd be okay with you." Thoughtful in his approach of the matter, Hati looked to Tazz for approval, or at least guidance in the direction of what she would want to eat, if she and Shuen were particularly hungry enough. That... And the twins likely realized that Shuen and Tazz would likely want to settle in, instead of remaining standing just after getting home from the Wolfish Woman giving birth to Freyja, and being discharged.

Hati would, in fact, look at his mother while it was still his turn to meet his baby sister, and her reassuring expression would seem to ease his tension; a stiffened frame relaxing slowly, even as Tazz chuckled at his comment. Uncoordinated blinks and the newborn's toothless smile would have the more serious twin cracking a genuine, warm smile as he slowly brought a finger towards the baby girl; offering it to grip, if Tazz or Shuen had allowed the little one to free her hands from the blanket.
As he did so, however, he'd step aside just enough for Fen to approach his parents and new sibling, as if Hati, himself, wasn't quite ready to back away; his soft spot quietly rediscovered, as Freyja's very existence grounded him to the present, and not the past that he wished to put behind him. Fen, meanwhile, quickly had a grin creeping onto his features while a twinkle in his eye accompanied a subdued, albeit audible sound of joy and glee.
"Look at you!" Awestruck, and likely having forgotten her name if they'd already been told it prior to her birth and arrival home, Fen's tail was swaying wildly in excitement, as he pointed to himself thereafter. "She's so cute! Her eyes look like they're more your color though, mom. Do you think she'll like the same things we do?" Almost about to fire off curiosity questions, being new to having a sister and all, Fen tried to contain himself while Shuen softly rubbed at Tazz's back during the introductions, and chuckled at their sons' reactions.

Hakkona's worry for Gwen, even if she wasn't yet aware of what she really was, was visibly eased when the Saiyaness's question was answered positively and at least presently; an audible sigh of slight relief escaping the Buff Gal, as if the mere moments the two spent talking made the Saiyan care deeply for Gwen. Perhaps it was just in her nature.
Still, she had yet to ascertain what the other woman was. Unless it was staring her in the face, the Mighty Heiress still assumed that she was just another human being... Albeit with a life that made her seem as though she was treated in a way that made her speak the way she did.
"Living feels... Emotional. Honestly, I think it's a confusing thing for everyone, until they get the hang of it. Sometimes the right person helps you understand what it's supposed to feel like at its best and worst moments... I think." A nervous smile etched itself on her features, as she tried her best to offer a perspective on the matter.
It was only when Gwen reciprocated the proper introduction, however, that the Buff Gal was starting to potentially grasp the true nature of the other girl; assigned, as a designation for a previous name, tipping her off to something more complex than just a normal human being. Should she confront that curiosity head on? No... Doing it so suddenly would likely be rude, even if Gwen seemed forward about herself.
Instead, the Mighty Heiress would focus on getting to know her better, and let her given name pierce her ears and settle into her memory like it was that of a dear friend. A pleased smile crept onto the visage of the muscular woman, as her tail swayed about blissfully.
"You have a very pretty name, Gwen. I'll be happy to call you by it, if it pleases you. Maybe... I can show you what life feels like, outside of your purpose, if you'd like."
@museincarnate
╚»★ "...I do now. But, for a time, that wasn't the case. To be frank, I wouldn't have existed at all if it wasn't for the purpose, and I don't know what living is supposed to feel like."
It wasn't an easy thing to talk about, let alone explain. She had a full program in her code that removed her autonomy, she wasn't allowed to disobey, lest the attempt practically made her feel like she was on fire internally. She was to be a perfect replica, nothing more.
Although she had altered herself in appearance a little since then, the one thing of her old self remained was the golden eye, pale and scarred as she could no longer see out of it; but it was the color of the person she was meant to replicate. A person who had long since died.
Before now, all she had known was to be hurt, by the very person who had her created, the very person she wasn't allowed to defy. The man who erased the existence of his own child in order to save his reputation, even if it meant replacing her with a cheap replica. Such a person was not for this world, and to rid this world of such a stain was the only goal she had in mind.
"Hakkona.." The name lingered on her lips momentarily as she noted it to her internal memory, lest she forget it. Yet even so, it was a nice name.
