Mood Overlays

This didn't require update for patches, so if you don't have "Werewolves" pack or don't play with werewolves, you don't need to update now.

Reworked overlay adding system (like I did with wedding rings last year) and removed overlays from werewolves in their werewolf forms.

ATTENTION! There is one new required file musmus_MoodOverlays_Core.package. Don't forget to install this and transfer IDs from your old edited packages, instruction didn't change at all. Romantic Memories

Reworked memories system, now the game shouldn't lose NPC's memories. And, well... there is a bonus: if your sim had their first sex with multiple sims (Wicked Whims), they should remember 'em all ;)

Wedding Rings

Removed rings from werewolves in their werewolf forms, like I did with mood overlays. Don't forget to transfer IDs from your old edited packages!

Mood Overlays / Внешность под настроение

Обновления под патчи, как такового, не требовалось, и если у вас либо нет игрового набора "Оборотни", либо вы не играете оборотнями, то, в принципе, мод можно не обновлять. В обновлении переделана система добавления оверлеев, она теперь точно такая же, как в моде на обручальные кольца. Кроме того, убрала оверлеи с оборотней в форме оборотня. ОБРАТИТЕ ВНИМАНИЕ: в состав мода добавился еще один файл musmus_MoodOverlays_Core - его нужно устанавливать обязательно. Ну и напоминаю, что это шаблон мода, то есть придется взять значения из старого (отредактированного вами) мода и вставить в новые файлы на те же места, инструкция не изменилась. Romantic Memories / Романтические воспоминания

Переделала систему «запоминания» первых поцелуев и первого секса/вуху, теперь игра больше не должна терять воспоминания неиграемых персонажей. Попутно получился бонус: если «первый раз» вашего персонажа случился в оргии Wicked Whims, то игра запомнит всех ;) Обновления под патчи тоже не требовалось, это чисто техническое улучшение. Тут то же самое, что и с "внешностью под настроение": убрала кольца на оборотнях в форме оборотней. Не забудьте вставить свои значения из старых файлов!

Какие-то призрачные уведомления, которые еще и фиг найдешь в этой ленте (и которые не всегда приходят почему-то), крайне всратая система комментариев, на которые еще и бог знает, как отвечать...

Этот блог сворачивать не планирую, все мои моды будут и тут в том числе. You'll see "Get Leftovers" interaction immediately after you click on fridge, you won't need to click any additional buttons to see it. Also I added icons to this interaction and "Clean Empty Plates" interaction.

There are 2 files in the archive:

musmus_Fridge_Leftovers will replace "Get Leftovers" interaction; musmus_Fridge_WashDishes will replace "Clean Empty Plates" interaction.

Will conflict with any mods that edit these interactions. Will NOT conflict with SCCO or custom food or drink recipes.

14/10/23: Update for 1.101.290. Devs finally fixed issues with vegeterians, so we don't need vegetariangrableftoverfix by Bienchen anymore and conflict with this mod is gone. Yay!

Сама заявка звучала так:

Несмотря на SCCO, органайзеры менюшек и т.п. - остаётся одна небольшая проблема: пункт "Взять остатки пищи" в меню холодильника как правило где-то в глубине меню. Было бы здорово, если бы у этого пункта была отличающаяся иконка (чтобы было всегда заметно) и максимальный приоритет (чтобы при любых условиях этот пункт был на первом же меню, без необходимости проваливаться ��лубже). Если бы у уборки пустых тарелок также была отдельная иконка и приоритет - тоже было бы здорово (про приоритет не уверена, а вот иконки сейчас точно нет).

Собственно, именно это мод и делает.

Меню «Взять остатки пищи» должно отображаться сразу же при клике на холодильник, без необходимости листать список (у второго меню из заявки и так был максимальный приоритет, поэтому ничего в этом плане трогать не потребовалось).

У меню «Взять остатки пищи» и «Убрать испорченную еду или тарелки» появятся отдельные иконки, чтобы их можно было сразу заметить.

В архиве два файла:

musmus_Fridge_Leftovers отвечает за меню «Взять остатки пищи»; musmus_Fridge_WashDishes отвечает за меню «Убрать испорченную еду или тарелки».

Конфликтует с любыми модами, которые заменяют эти меню. С SCCO и кастомными рецептами конфликтов нет.

Перевод не требуется, текст в моде подтягивается из игры.

14/10/23: Обновление под версию 1.101.290. Т.к. разработчики починили вегетарианцев, больше нет необходимости в модах на то, чтобы персонажи-вегетарианцы брали из холодильника только нужное, и соответственно ушел конфликт с ними.

Здравствуйте! У меня появились проблемы с установкой колец для мода "обручальные кольца" тут есть подробная информация, перешла по ссылке, все описанное я произвела. дальше идёт после ссылки "скопированное значение для мужского обручального кольца должно быть вставлено вместо MALE_WEDDING(и тд)" тут впринципе загвоздка дальше написано что в примере объяснено, но в примере нет объяснения как редактировать сам файл мода

I also still stand by much of what I said before, especially about some demands of changing the code, but I can't prove anything until actual release... and, well, I still don't know if I personally will have access to it. Based on my actual experience as a software developer, modder (relatively small, but still valid I think) and a player (relatively big, because I play The Sims since 2006, when I was only 15 and my parents bought our first PC), I'm sure there isn't any code in this particular pack that needed to be changed without touching basegame code or restricting access to the entire game and previous DLCs. If I have legal access to "My Wedding Stories", some patience and will to do anything with The Sims in the future, I'll post some technical details about this.

Thank you for correction and understanding! As I said in PM, there is another detail: our government cares about propaganda when it comes to adults, but only if it's not properly labeled (as 18+). And your examples confirm this. At least, for now you need to only label content as 18+, that's all. Examples:

1. Borderlands 3: Guns, Love, and Tentacles (has Russian localization).

2. Life is Strange (has Russian localization).

3. Various visual novels or dating simulators, for example Dream Daddy or DRAMAtical murder (both, like most VNs, don't have Russian localization, but we can still buy them in Russia without any problems).

4. Mass Effect (has Russian localization).

5. ...and some others. I don't have a lot of knowledge about games, when it doesn't come to The Sims or visual novels, but I can at least say that much.

I'm sure this is completely political and business decision, but you don't need especially creative mind to imagine what kind of backlash EA may received if they told the truth. Especially with their already sinking reputation (again) and situation with The Battlefield 2042.

Politics should have never been involved in the games, especially such non-political as The Sims. Business is business, but you should never try to cash on innocent people. Period.

И отдельно для русскоговорящего коммьюнити: я полностью согласна с тем, что не надо обвинять СимГуру, как минимум. СимГуру - это обычные сотрудники крупной корпорации, они не принимают решения и не могут делать никаких заявлений от лица компании без одобрения руководства. И уж тем более не стоит нападать на простых игроков, особенно если они действительно пытаются вникнуть в проблему.

А если даже не пытаются, вместо этого бросаясь оскорблениями из серии "русские не нужны", то нам в принципе не о чем с ними разговаривать. Как-то так.

re: EA, the wedding pack, & the Russian Government

Starting out by saying that @musmus-simblr​ was kind enough to reply to my earlier post and in the interest of not spreading my own misinformation, I’m making a new one. I appreciate the kindness and patience they offered me, as opposed to insults and online harassment that I’ve received just because I’ve pointed out that EA is not solely responsible for this mess.

Old post is here. Though I still stand by much of what I said, there are parts that are incorrect information that were delivered in anger. I want to provide updated information as well as support for our fellow Simmers and my fellow members of the LGBTQ+ community.

This post is also not intended to cast any blame or humiliation on the people of Russia. The Russian government is also not the only government that has tried to censor Sims content; however, this post is limited to discussing Russian law because that is what is specifically the issue.

1. I’ve been told that players affected by this have received shitty comments directed at the Russian people in particular. I want to say to the community at large: Do not do this!! With the political climate the way it is, our fellow Simmers and friends need our support more than ever. 

(I also want to apologize for coming off like I’m blaming them too. It was not my intention but I realize my words may have been hurtful and I’m sorry for that.)

2. EA is not an innocent party. Their announcement was carefully worded, but only to save their own skin. They are notoriously bad at communicating with their playerbase, and we all know they’re not doing this because of “principles,” but entirely for monetary and business reasons.

3. EA never outright accused the Russian government law of anything. I realize this may be lost in translation or a nuance that might be missed by non-native English speakers. Their wording is very particularly chosen to IMPLY a connection between the bigotry of the Russian government and the decision not to sell the pack there. I bring this up because I have seen it stated that EA has outright thrown accusations and this is simply not true. That is important to know, since it adds context to EA covering their asses for legal reasons.

4. I have also seen claims that the Russian government does not care about banned/restricted content when it comes to adults. This is not true at all.  Russia’s Article 6.13.1 law and cases in which it is invoked discuss “propaganda” regardless of what form it comes in. While it is specifically said to be for the protection of anyone under 18 years of age, the actions of watchdog groups and the government say they will censor anything if it is deemed to be ‘homosexual propaganda’. Examples of this include (but are NOT limited to):

Russian MPs accuse Fifa 17 video game of ‘gay propaganda’ In my original post I stated that FIFA 17 was rated 18+ but this is incorrect! I also specifically brought this up because it is an EA game that had much less overt “homosexual” content than a DLC pack dedicated to marriage.

I’d also like to point out that “BUT THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!” is a common tactic used by bigots get away with laws and policies that affect EVERYONE, not just children.

5. The Real Reason This Sims 4 Expansion Can’t Be Played In Russia is an article that briefly discusses what happened, and I’d like to point out one particular paragraph that states my last point very well:

“… the bigger question in the case of "The Sims 4” was whether or not EA decided to not release the Game Pack in order to make a statement or take a stand, as one Twitter user pointed out, or if it was to avoid having to change the content for an international audience, like other games have had to do. The official statement from “The Sims 4” team explained that the “storytelling would be subject to changes because of federal laws,” but some fans have questioned how true and binding that actually was.”

As mentioned in my old post, it does not make sense for EA not to sell a pack in Russia if they are able to do so, nor does it make sense that EA would refuse doing so because of the 18+ rating that already exists on the base game and franchise. 

Therefore, we can guess that the changes that were being asked MAY have been related to internal game mechanics and not just marketing and advertising.

However! We ultimately do not know what was demanded of EA, only that something must have been requested that EA then refused, and it was not just the 18+ rating that is already in effect.

(*- I also incorrectly stated in the previous post that EA still has a field office in Russia. They closed it in 2019 along with their office in Japan.)

To conclude: 

This is not written to “speak for” anyone, but to provide research and introspection into an issue that is important to so many people.

I invite the community to NOT blame the Russian people, and to NOT disregard them. I also invite the community to try to understand that we should NOT harass the Sims team under any circumstances, as this issue was not their call, but partially EA’s. And EA should NOT be praised for protecting LGBTQ+ representation, as they are a company, and most assuredly did this to preserve money and legal standing. 

Finally, I want to say to those of you who are saying they should have watered down the code and straightwashed the pack: Go away. I am a lesbian and I will do everything in my power to help my fellow Simmers in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine get this pack in all its glory by “sailing the high seas.”
