Filming that scene by the lake with Norman was the most difficult scene on this show that I’ve ever had to get myself through. It was an absolute mixed bag of Carol and Melissa. I knew going in that it was going to be difficult… those words on the page, the first of our last two scenes together, the impending finality was feeling very real.

Once I sat on that bench, once Norman sat next to me, that was it for me… I knew I couldn’t get out of my own way. To battle it would’ve been a mistake. Come what may, it had to be honest. It was Carol with Daryl, and it was me with Norman, and I will miss them both. It’s a beautiful scene about friendship and trust. I loved it.

We did several takes of the scene where we last see Daryl & Carol together, when they tell one another “I love you.” One of the things I love about working together with Norman is that we don’t rehearse, which was the case with this scene. Each take was a little different. These are the last words we hear them say to each other. In this final scene, I was struck by Daryl’s deliberateness to tell Carol that he loves her, the stillness he held as he said it, and then her reaction to seemingly try to intercept the weight of it, tossing it back to him lightly, playfully, for the road ahead. It’s a good way to remember them, taking care of one another.

Ah yes, I’ve hit another MILESTONE (and created another SHITTY graphic again although I totally didn’t recycle it with a different font, LMAO). It’s been a while. I’ve come to vastly acquire new and friendly followers. Some of you I’ve grown to engage more, others not so much because I can’t be on the dashboard at all hours of the day, BUT that doesn’t mean I DON’T pay attention to what you guys are doing or what threads you’re working through. Even if we’re not avid writing partners, there’s just some of you I rather enjoy admiring from afar. And frankly that’s partly what this is, too.

I never believed I would EVER hit 800 followers– that is incredible for someone like me. Nope. Not ever. I still don’t understand why I get follows. I’m not around enough. I don’t chat/network with a lot of folks. And I don’t post frequent starter calls either– though I should and intend on doing so soon. But somehow, y’all found me and still enjoy me as a writer and Daryl as my muse.

But I do WANT to thank everyone that has come to support me in this endeavor of writing for this snarly ball of redneck anger for the last THREE AND A HALF YEARS. Whether you’re roleplaying with my muse or not, your follow is greatly appreciated! Your garnered support of my writing is what keeps me going and that is something I can never really put to words in the form of gratitude as I don’t think it could ever do it justice. But regardless…
