Just look at that smile- it says it all really. Very happy for her and Sweden. Loved the song from the very first time I heard it and just knew it would be a winner. ☺️💙🇸🇪

Congratulations to Loreen and Sweden on winning Eurovision 2023. I have to say that her song was my favourite out of the lot, but I did also enjoy some of the others as well.
So Eurovision over for another year and I’m sure Sweden next year will put on a great show too. But for goodness sake UK don’t go backwards like you did this year. Sort of disappointed that after Sam Ryder taking second place for the UK with 466 points last year to then get a crap 24 points last night really takes the biscuit- as I honestly thought that the UK would build on from Sam’s positivity and genuine love for this contest by striving to enter decent songs with singers or acts that have a similar genuine love for Eurovision like Sam. Instead this year they entered a very outdated, cheesy and mediocre song with a singer with mediocre vocals. Plus not once did I get the impression that our entrant actually genuinely cared about the contest- why else would she just walk off after realising the score for the UK.
It almost feels disrespectful to Ukraine for the fact we hosted the contest on their behalf, yet we couldn’t be arsed to make a decent effort on our entry this year like last year!

So there we have it, the final 10 countries into the Grand Final of Eurovision 2023 on Saturday.
Personally I thought this semi final was the stronger out of the two. I also enjoyed the mixture of genres in this one such as: rock from Australia, disco from Belgium, and ballads from Lithuania and Estonia. Also credit to Albania for actually singing in their language as I adore countries for doing that.
So pretty happy with the countries that qualified last night, as the majority of them I actually love listening to on the official Eurovision album.
Good luck to all the finalists and cannot wait for Saturday evening now. Should be pretty exciting seeing a former Eurovision winner attempting to win the contest for a second time and it’s actually my favourite song out of the lot.

Not long to go until semi final 2 of Eurovision 2023 gets underway. So exactly who will be joining the 10 qualifiers from semi 1 in the Grand Final Saturday? Plus not forgetting the big 6 that are already in the final which are : Ukraine (last year’s winners), France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Can already tell that this semi final has got a few more quality songs unlike semi final 1, so cannot wait to watch this show on TV Thursday evening. 😊

So these are the 10 qualifiers from last night’s first semi final of Eurovision 2023.
From a personal point of view I am quite happy that a few of the songs that I really liked got through to Saturday’s Grand Final. However there were at least three songs that should not have qualified and at the expense of far better songs that were more deserving to get the final based on the quality alone. One country that didn’t qualify and I feel really sorry for is Ireland, as I thought they had a really decent song this year and have been enjoying listening to their entry. It’s just my opinion but Ireland was far better than Croatia and Serbia put together. It is shocking that this most successful country at Eurovision has not qualified for the final since 2018! 😮
But my absolute favourite song and performance of last night was Loreen from Sweden with her dance-pop track titled “Tattoo”. Her voice, the staging and the performance gave me the winning vibes from when she first won Eurovision back in 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with another banger “Euphoria”. So it comes as no surprise to me that she is currently the bookies favourites at 5/8 to win the final on Saturday and would love to see that happen. 🇸🇪
Another country’s entry that I really enjoyed was Switzerland with their power ballad called “Watergun, performed by Swiss singer Remo Forrer. Even though the staging was lovely and simple, the overall performance level was captivating as you could feel the emotion being portrayed by the singer and in his voice which was impeccably easy on the ears to listen to. Hopefully this entry can achieve a good result in the Grand Final this weekend. 🇨🇭
Portugal is another country that I have taken a shine too and for the fact that the style of the song is not pop oriented- more traditional Portuguese music if you can call it that. You can hear in parts a bit of flamenco and a bit of jazz. Plus it was sung in Portuguese and not English which the majority of the songs are. Again keeping fingers crossed that Portugal will achieve a respectable result on the board come Saturday evening. 🇵🇹
